Phone WM6 built in applications Problems
- i try Address book and i contact and photo contact and all other application all are very bad in compare with nokia
the best one of them was address book but have a very big disadvantages
* Very Slow And All its componant is separated so if u are in contact manager and need to move to call history u have to wait 3-6 sec
* No AZ list .. like HTC Contacts (Random Access)
* U Will Take A very long time and effort to add new contact .. if we can config the shortcut (History - Favorites - Dialer) .. i need to add any function also here like adding new contact
* alot of time the address book hangup and a white screen appear instead of the application
* I Hate ... The builtin dialer page(That show call ended ..and dialing ... so on ) and hate it's small tabs that i can't also edit .. why address book coders did not add a custom dialing page ..
* Dialing page .. also after call end it takes 4-7 sec to close and if the mobile was in lock keyboard map .. it is a disaster
* default number feature .. what if i wanna to add a mobile number and a home number to a contact but when i call this contact i always call the mobile not the home
* Contact viewer ... spb mobile shell contact have a very good big button for each item in contact template .. and also the tap feature of Photo Contact ... the hope to see this in address book
* Edit contact info is sooooooooooo diffecult specially when u use ur finger instead of stulys .. make it bigger please
* GSM Code services .. this is a new feature not seen in any phone but it is important .. here in egypt have GSM Code to send a contact a service message like .. please call me or please recharge me .. this by adding a code to the begin of the number and a # to the end of the number .. if i can to make a menu for each contact with avalible Service codes that can be send to him .. this will be great .. and i can also config this codes and add more .. this will be very good feature
* Contact menu .. if this menu item can me converted to buttons to help easy use will be great .. it can be when u click the contact the button appears and if u douple click the contact it open contact info view page .. it will be great also if i can edit which button can be viewed for the contact[Send message - Call - Delete - Send service message .... ]
* Create New Contact Redirect me to the HTC Built in contact .. (when i am in dialing page)

Hi,
I have a K-Jam with the latest Rom but I have a problem with the "To:' box that when I type a name in some name show up but not all of them that are in my contact list.
I thought it would be maybe because of categories but no as all my contacts are categorized.
If I actually click on the To: link it brings up the full contact list with all the names...but jsut entering letters of the name in the initial box only brings up certain names.
Anyone knows what the deal is with that and how to fix it please ?
Is it because the phone number you have for the contact is not stored in the mobile number field?
On my phone it seems that contacts only appear in the To: box if you have a number in the mobile number field.
Very good ! you got it right ! thanks you man !!

Is it possible to add the feature of making a new appointment wth a contact from the phone application (call history or list)?
Try this.
CallCalendar.

thanks for the reply, however, this application does not do what I was initially thinking about.
I was thinking about having an "option" in the menu (phone or tap & hold) in the call history so I can make an appointment with the person that I tap & hold on.
Check out the Mobile Secretary source code and write your own.

Link not Working
could you please give me another link? the link to the source is not working.
Sorry but I searched and cannot find answers-
A few questions:
I have tmobile in the usa (oregon) with a black sony x1i
1) Issue- I am coming from a Sam BJ2- I use exch server for email, contacts, etc. When I set up my X1 with my exchange info- everything worked nicely-
But some of my contacts that are smsing me do not show their contact name only the #. I think it might be cause some have the 1 (XXX) and some dont have the 1. How can I fix this as I have 600 contacts?? Please help
I noticed that the phone wont dial a # without the 1 in front of it-
2) on my BJ2 - when I wanted to call, email or text someone- I would start typing their name and I would choose from the list as I am typing. I cant do that with the xperia- typing doesnt do anything- How do people quickly search for a contact???
3) Is there a seperate box that shows on the home screen when SMS's come in as opposed to 1 message box with a red #? I would like to see if its an email or sms.
Thx in advance
In regards to 1, have you tried selecting "United States" in the regional settings?
Yes I set it to USA english-
Also where is the battery indicator on the home screen??
Thx
1) thats a calling ID setting... there is nothing you can do about it except you go change the contact number and add or remove the 1 before the area code... the phone is just trying to match whatever the caller ID is to your contact list... if it is not the same it wont display it.... I have had that problem on my BJ2 too and I had to change all those contacts as well
2) I can do so by sliding out the keyboard and start typing the name and call... not sure if you are doing the samething or you are trying to get the soft keyboard out to type...
3) I have a sms or email notification showing up on the bottom of the screen whenever I receive them.... otherwise the sonyericsson panel have a option to display them I think
In the Sim manager there is an Edit Group but I cannot find anything that will let me add a group, is there anything that will let me group contacts?
My purpose is to be able to just select the group when I am sending an SMS and it will send the SMS to all the members of that group instead of me selecting all the contacts.
Thanks!
Someone has mentioned about PowerSMS on another forum but it is not free, anyone who has another suggestion?
TIA

Dialer makes the usage of the main phone features easy and quick: dial a number, send a message, search a person or add a new contact to your address book. Save your time using Inesoft Dialer on your Windows Mobile phone.

One touch
Buttons are big enough and the interface is designed so that you could type with fingers and not to use stylus. Make a call, send a new SMS, add any information about the contact in one touch
T9 Search
If you have a lot of contacts, use the search feature to quickly find a certain person. The information is searched through all the main info fields and through the comments or notes. That's why it is very easy to find a contact when you remember information partly
Visualization
Upload a photo for the each contact in your address book. The photo will be displayed when you receive or make a call. Photos will be also displayed at your Favorite list, after the successful search of the contact is fnished.
Connection notification
Making a call your phone will give a light vibro-signal, notifying you about the successful connection. Thus you do not need to look at the display and check the connection. Double vibro-signal will let you know that the number you are trying to reach is busy.

Don't just purchase the software because I referred this application, take the trial. I haven't fully tried this application in regards to categories...
I use GroupSMS, which is free:

Works great on the Xperia. You determine the people in a group by editing their contact details and selecting their 'categories'.
You can't do this from manilla if you use it, you have to go to the old windows mobile contact view.
Hi everyone,
if I search for a name via the dial numbers in the phone dialog (after pressing green dial button) it works fine to dial the numbers of the persons I found. But if I press the left or right key to switch between home or phone number, mail or sms, I'm not able to create SMS or mails out of this window. On my old htc artemis with wm6 but without touchFlo it worked fine and it is much more useful than going to contacts overview because of the easy searching.
Hope you understand what I try to say
Thanks for any help, Tobi
You are right. However, once name is selected (with <m>) you can tap "Menu" - "Send Text Message" to send SMS.
Hi,
You can search your contact on the sms or email screen. At the line of the phone number, you write the first words of your contact and you have the list of your repertory.
You have only to choose at which of them you want to send an sms. I think it's easiest like this !
Thanks for both of the answers
@azahidi: I found this out yesterday, you're right thats an option, but not an advance I think, menu is too inconvenient for finger control. the greatest problem is, that if I select a contact with my finger, the phone directly calls it insteat of just selecting it and giving me further options.
@pinou13: that's great, I didn't know this yet, I think that solves my problem in a way
But nevertheless, it would be great, if one could set that if I click on the contact in the dial window, instead of directly dealing the number, showing the same overview (call cell phone, call home, write mail, write sms) from the contacts window.
If someone know a solution to do so, please post it, but so far it's an alternative to do it via sms or mail menu.
Thanks, Tobi
You can solve your problem with the Spb Mobile Shell. It is very finger-friendly to use, I am happy with it, but it has to be paid after 14 days free trial. For details: http://www.spbsoftwarehouse.com/pocketpc-software/mobileshell/
Hm, looks great, but that's around 10% of the phones costs. I prefer to use freeware and I rather like touchFlo, but not in that one little thing
