Appointments from Call Phone - Windows Mobile Development and Hacking General

Is it possible to add the feature of making a new appointment wth a contact from the phone application (call history or list)?

Try this.
CallCalendar.

thanks for the reply, however, this application does not do what I was initially thinking about.
I was thinking about having an "option" in the menu (phone or tap & hold) in the call history so I can make an appointment with the person that I tap & hold on.

Check out the Mobile Secretary source code and write your own.

how do you dial from a note?

I put a phone number down in the notes of my appointment by mobile outlook, and when the reminder pops up, I just want to click and dial the number -- not select it, activate the dialer, then menu>paste and finally dial.
In my old blackberry, all I had to do was enter, 'tel:555-1212' and it would automatically convert it to a link -- click on it and the number was automatically dialed.
Is there an equivalent in WM5?
Also, I noticed that I can't just send ANOTHER text msg to someone in my sent box -- reply sends a message back to ME. Forward has me enter the previous number again. Am I missing something?
Interesting, a friend of mine and myself are also interested in this feature !

Tried it. Doesn't work on my phone. Is it supposed to?
Did you add a space or line feed/return after the telephone number? Mine doesn't create a link until one of those is entered.
That works, thou I thought about something else.
I'm using Pocketbreeze and what would be great would be to be able to call persons you added in the list of persons included "add person..."
like to be able to choose from a list when the notification appears.
Guess that's not possible atm
I think that that has been requested over at SBSH's forums but I don't remember if it was a planned addition or not. However, if Amit responded like he usually does, he will probably add it at some point if he can.
As far as PB, if you have PB set to show the note icon next to appts or tasks, you can tap on the note icon and it will open the preview window. Tap on the link and it will dial as well. No opening your PIM needed.
One other thing, you can also create a direct link to email as in the example below:
MailTo:[email protected]

Writing SMS through phone dial dialog

Hi everyone,
if I search for a name via the dial numbers in the phone dialog (after pressing green dial button) it works fine to dial the numbers of the persons I found. But if I press the left or right key to switch between home or phone number, mail or sms, I'm not able to create SMS or mails out of this window. On my old htc artemis with wm6 but without touchFlo it worked fine and it is much more useful than going to contacts overview because of the easy searching.
Hope you understand what I try to say
Thanks for any help, Tobi
You are right. However, once name is selected (with <m>) you can tap "Menu" - "Send Text Message" to send SMS.
Hi,
You can search your contact on the sms or email screen. At the line of the phone number, you write the first words of your contact and you have the list of your repertory.
You have only to choose at which of them you want to send an sms. I think it's easiest like this !
Thanks for both of the answers
@azahidi: I found this out yesterday, you're right thats an option, but not an advance I think, menu is too inconvenient for finger control. the greatest problem is, that if I select a contact with my finger, the phone directly calls it insteat of just selecting it and giving me further options.
@pinou13: that's great, I didn't know this yet, I think that solves my problem in a way
But nevertheless, it would be great, if one could set that if I click on the contact in the dial window, instead of directly dealing the number, showing the same overview (call cell phone, call home, write mail, write sms) from the contacts window.
If someone know a solution to do so, please post it, but so far it's an alternative to do it via sms or mail menu.
Thanks, Tobi
You can solve your problem with the Spb Mobile Shell. It is very finger-friendly to use, I am happy with it, but it has to be paid after 14 days free trial. For details: http://www.spbsoftwarehouse.com/pocketpc-software/mobileshell/
Hm, looks great, but that's around 10% of the phones costs. I prefer to use freeware and I rather like touchFlo, but not in that one little thing

Google voice app

Was wondering is there a google voice app for the touch pro 2 like the 1 for the iphone?
I have done a lot of digging and I have not found 1 app that does it all. But there is a way to tie 3 programs together to get a total experience. The information below is what I have pieced together from several other website I do not take credit for it.
On supware's site you can actually create a CAB file specific to your phone and google voice number.
Make sure that you also download "iContact" and the "Greenbutton" programs. The integration of these 2 other programs with iDialer.
- iContact is similar in nature to the i Phone's contact program and you can call directly from iContact as well.
- Greenbutton is a program that lets you call directly from your iDialer app. Without the Greenbutton app you will have to tap on the "call" button on your touch screen in order to place a call. It's much more intuitive to just hit the "green" call button on your phone; having the greenbutton app allows you to do that.
With these 3 programs from Supware.net installed you are ready to go. All you have to do is launch iDialer, enter the phone number of the person you want to call, then press the call button. You will then be taken to the mobile webpage of Google Voice to enter your log-in info. What's cool, is that you only have enter your log-in info once; even if you reset your windows mobile device.
You'll see your google voice number on your caller ID. Answer the call, wait a second, and you will here it ring as it makes the call.

cant call someone from the contacts list

this is probably easy to fix or just an error on my part.
I'm using the official rom with some theme mods.
So when i go to the contact list, click on a contact and then click the "call mobile phone" entry for that contact, the option gets activated/grey background, just to get deactivated half a second later and it never actually dials the number (same with people in the favorites list)
The contacts are stored on the phone and copied over from my blackstone, so I know the numbers are all valid.
Anyone got any ideas? Any help would be appreciated
[edit]
oh and i can dial just fine when i hiz phone on the today screen, go to the menu and choose "open contact"
[edit2]
I just realized, when I'm on the contact page of a contact (where you see there phone numbers and so on), I can click Menu -> Show more information, which takes me to the "old" contact page (as it used to be in wm 6.1), where calling someone works as well.
So there are ways around this, it's just annoying having those 2 more presses just to call a number.

Contacts/Phone app

Hi guys, I've just moved over from iphone so still finding my feet with android.
For the most part android is far superior but the contact side of things is still bugging me. This is what I want to be able to do:
1. Have my call log as calls only, not texts. I know you can change this to view calls received, dialled etc, but it soons defaults back and shows everything. I just want my log to have dialled and received and nothing else? I'm sure i've read somewhere on the net that this was possible on the SGS through a hack??
2. I want to set up a favourites list of say best mate, gf, work etc and just be able to press their name and it dials there number, not opens another window that shows history, text option, dial option video call option, i.e. just direct dial. I also would like this to be the first screen that opens when I press my phone icon on the dock??
I've set my gf up on my desktop as a direct dial shortcut, but I don't want to be doing that for everyone. I've got a load of contacts but maybe only dial 10 at most on a regular basis.
are there any hacks or thrid party dialers that do this??
Cheers

I can help you with #2. Just swipe right on your favorite and you call that favorite immediately. Swipe left to immediately send a message.

hmmm, can't say i can see a way around No.1, other than using a new dialer/contacts app such as Go Contacts or Dialer One etc..
must say, i actually quite like the comprehensive log, coming from Sense and Stock roms with calls only, i like having it all in one place...
Dialer One would be my choice, but only as i used it on CM7 on my Hero for its smart dial feature... can't comment on Go Contacts
hope this helps
Dickie
I use loads off texts a day so within 10 mins of dialling someone their details are long gone
I'll check out Go Contacts and Dialer One though, thanks for the recommendations
This is a Samsung thing, regular android does not put texts with the call log. I don't think I'd like them to be combined like that.
it is the right thing to do

I like them combined. There again, there could be an option to control it.
Go Contacts is just the ticket
Thanks guys, much better now
