how to use pc net on ppc? - Windows Mobile Development and Hacking General

Hi mate my pc is attached with a dsl high speed net. i wan to use it on my ppc when i connect it with activesync using usb cable. is there any software or any possible way to share my pc net on my ppc. i have wizard with wm6
Regards

I think (depending on the ROM) that Active Sync itself provides this functionality. If you set up a new partnership, the second screen has a check box which allows you to let the device connect to your PCs internet.

Can I use Bluetooth to share files between XDA2 & PC?

If I buy a bluetooth USB adapter for my PC, can I then share and transfer files between my XDA2 and my PC? If so, are there any particular specs I should look for in an adapter? Also, would this then be able to allow my XDA2 to use my PC's internet connection (ADSL)?
Lee.
yes using activesync just like when you connect using the cattle / usb
if the bluetooth usb follow the std of bluetooth then it should act the same no matter which adaptor you get
special settings

Hi,
The only setting you need to do is on PC ActiveSync. Go to Options > Rules > Pass Through (at the bottom of the page) and choose The Internet.
That's it. Once your PC is connected to the Internet, you XDA with Bluetooth ActiveSync can also enjoy the Pass Through Internet.
Cheers
joparp i did the same thing and it is not working!!!
Hi i have an XDA 2 and a MSI bluetooth USB adapter (the range of the adapter doesn't matter as far as i can tell because its the XDA 2's 10m range thats the limit). The XDA 2 connects through to the PC using active sync. Active sync doesn't have bluetooth support but this is ok because it can connect to serial (com ports). PC Bluetooth can create virtual com ports to connect to so just make sure that your PC active sync is set to your virtual com port. Then all you have to do is click on tools (in active sync on XDA 2) and select connect via bluetooth. Works great! free FAST internet when in range of the pc (10m open air) and if i can get it working with bluetooth, accessing the lan using Pocket Lan (if anyone knows how i'd love to know! ). hmmmm access to mp3's on pc network

Passthrough for pocket pc 2003?

Hi all,
I am trying to connect to the internet via passthrough
on Active sync (version 3.7.1) while my XDA2 is still in the cradle
to my pc (with an internet connection)
After several attempts I read the HELP file in active sync and it states:
Note The ability to use ActiveSync to pass through this computer is only supported on Windows Powered Pocket PC 2002 and Windows Powered Smartphone 2002.
I am on PocketPC 2003.
Anyone knows of any freeware that can do a passthrough while
still on the cradle (on PPC2003).
Thanks
you may be referring to a very old article.
I can do Internet passthrough with my QTEK2020 PPC 2003 while plugged into the craddle, and without any additional software, just ActiveSync.
yeah i've don passthrough on my xda2 with both usb and bluetooth
Hi!
How is this done? I saw instructions on a link and they seemed so complicated. Any "Passthrough for Dummies" info?
Thanks
This link may help. Go to the internet connection link and it will tell you what to set up in active sync and on the ppc. I did this and can now get my emails through my pc connection instead of gprs

how to connect to lan via usb/serial cradle?

Hi everybody,
I've a Qtek2020 smart phone. I would like to access my lan' pc from my PDA when it is connected to serial/usb cradle.
I can ping the pc to wich the pda is attached and I can open in internet explorer a page served from the pc IIS server. But my problem is that the PDA identifies itsel with the same IP address of the host pc (the pc connected to my pda)
Is there a way to let the PDA be connected via ActiveSync/serial/usb cable to the host and receive an unique IP address??? This way I will be able to send TCP/IP data to the PDA .I need this because I've a software that act as a server that need to be installed to the pda and must reply to requests that come from lan' pc.
The host pc has winXP pro. I've tried to create an "incoming connection" on this machine that accept connection on the COM2 port, using the wizard that is usually used to direct connect 2 pc via direct serial cable.
This way i think I need a special software to be installed on pda....
Any help???
Thanks a lot for any suggestion

Bluetooth on PC no COM

Hi,
I have a new X1 with the original ROM.
I am trying to connect the phoneto my PC but it is not possible.
I find the PC if I search on the phone. Then I try to connect but I have only two services to select. FreeSpeaker and Network.
And if I try to search on my PC I have only two services available on the phone. (Network Access, Object push and voice gateway).
But I can´t transfer files from the PC to the phone. Can´t create an COM connection (a COM port is already configured on the PC) and it is not possible to connect with Active Sync.
Something is going wrong.
Does anyone know what it can be? I have Win XP SP2 with integrated bluetooth.
