Some suggestions to improve the forums - JASJAR, XDA Exec, MDA Pro General

I have some suggestions in regards to making the forums more viewable;
1- A moderator operated LOCKED topic sticky that links to the topics of new roms in the windows mobile 6 for "phone type" forum.
2- A moderator operated locked topic sticky that links to radio rom topics.
3- Standard to be added to any new rom post with the following items;
a- recommended ipl/spl
b- recommended radio rom
c- category of people rom is recommended for ; "power users, noobs, casual , business....etc"
4- a specific topic for each (or all) radio roms, with some kind of idea of what benefits they provide.
------
the reason i give these suggestions is that alot of the questions seem to be aimed exactly at these points , and my own personal experience of trying to find information seems to be a nightmare sometimes. (searching for accurate information on a radio rom is HELL) i do believe these can be applied to the forum in general.
edit: i've realized i accidently posted this in the wrong forum, please move to the appropriate one.

Newbie ROM guide ??

Be easy with me guys .........
I've been hacking the iPhone for 2 years, but sick of it.
Just got the Tilt 2, and want to learn how to hack this biatch ........
Any help would be Awesome !!!!!
I'm still new with hacking the tilt2, but am a long time forum user. Use the search function before posting any question.
There is a sticky at the top of the Rhodium ROM Development forum which is titled "[Resources] Flashing your First GSM Rhodium Rom (For Noobs)". This is where you'll want to start if you want to flash a cooked ROM (kinda like jailbreaking, but not). However, since you're new here, I also highly recommend that you read the Rhodium wiki article to answer other basic questions you might have. That should start you off with your Rhodium/Tilt2. Also, the stickies at the top of each forum should contain important resources, or other information which could answer questions you might have. Welcome aboard XDA-Developers (and in the future, as said before, it's best to search and read the stickies before posting)
Thanks guys, i'll get to reading now ..........
Thanks again .

How about creating a sticky n00b guide?

Just got my hd2 today and looking through the boards im confused.
i understand theres new roms, loads of extensions and some critical apps but i dont know where to start.
Could someone please create a new thread thats just for n00bs, that gives an up to date guide for getting the best out of a factory fresh hd2?
im not talking about anything too specific, just the latest (or best.most stable/fastest) rom (and how to flash) and some general guidance as to the most popular apps to install off the bat (theres got to be some commonality there).
thanks guys!
there are at least three sticky guides to rom flashing on the rom development section, the hints and tips sticky in this section is also a first stop.
as to questions like"best rom"..that's a completely subjective question...everyone has their favorite.
course, if you wanna write a new guide no one will complain!

as much as the tidy up is great, i truly believe that making the "Complete Leo Flashing video guide" and "how to flash everything" a bit less obvious to find (as these are after all intended for newcomers) is perhaps a little unwise.
ultimatly is up to XDA, but just my thoughts
Great idea: a sticky to collect stickies J
Just an additional thought: can't you guys define subfolders in a forum? Isn't it easier to have in each forum a subforum called stickies?

If we start to notice an upsurge in posts asking how to flash then maybe a flashing guide will be stickied back in the forum but this way cuts down on people saying "well if that one is stickied why cant mine be stickied"..
Dont worry I will keep an eye on posts and act accordingly

A stickie roll-up thread is alot easier to manage. If a subforum called 'Stickies' was created then it would need maintaining and non stickie worthy post being moved which means more work (and none of us wants that)
This way everything can be categorised and more useful info added.

Sounds as a really great idea. Now, all we need are some roll-up threads for roms, clocks, icons etc. So the reader can reduce his workload also (ahum)
bad idea
stickies was looking cool and these are easy for new users ..
specialy hsp thread , vbn files , must be sticky @ all !!!!!

Interesting re-organisation. is this your idea Mark? if yes then you need a promotion.
On second thoughts, it is quite a nicely organised thread for the noob, I like.

But with this organization you can still easy find those important threads AND (and I like that very much) threads with much or new activity will "stick" themselves back on top of all threads. Very useful when something new is happening in one of those threads.
Appreciate for the compilation

[Q] Androind Looking an Advice which one i is best option

I have an HTC HD2 running the native windows professional 6.5. and I would like to migrate to Android . But I have read too many
amazing stories that actually I feel lost. Which Android version could provide me a little bit of more speed and the same time
be reliable to run.
I would like to have a dual boot version in case of failure
Any advice will be appreciate
Jerome
Hello,
The place where you posted this post, is intended for development only, i.e. no questions should be asked here. Please, for any further questions use the HD2 Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting and General section.
To your question: We really can't tell which version would be good for you as it differs from one person to another, but you can read this post I made a while back that should help you decide which version to choose. That post also tells you how to dual boot if you want to.
And please use the search tool next time. If you had used the search, you would have found the same post I linked you to as well as many other threads that ask the same questions and get the following answer: "There is no best ROM."

[DISCUSSION] CM 12.1 Meizu M2 Note

Hello guys, I have created this thread to discuss about the CM12.1 by @Moyster, so we don't flood the thread's ROM with useless messages regard our problem with the devices, and leaves that only for developer things
I hope to have done a good move by opening this thread. If there are some problems, if I done something wrong, sorry in advance.

I don't think it was really necessary but it's up to you
The rom thread is not a "dev-only" thread (or I would've restrained who can post, there's options for that at least) but most of the users are simply new or didn't read the rules, and therefore simply come in the thread and ask "what about this ?" when there's already 45 pages and a Search Feature, for example to find infos about the battery consumption.
If people don't take the time to understand that, it will forever continue, hence it's still better to keep the discussions on topic because I don't especially have time to read a dozen threads to have returns about my rom.
Regarding bug issues, recurrent problems and things like that, I already made it clear on the rom thread HOW TO SUBMIT BUG ISSUES, but obviously that's the same as my previous paragraphe
This thread would be way more useful if it was a summary of all tips and tricks for the device / rom, a clean formatted post that links to "how to volume speaker", "how to wipe", etc...
Greetings

Ok, I understand your opinion, but I haven't time to mantain a thread like the one you adviced. I created this thread to group all users so that they help with each other.
So, it's better if this thread is deleted and recreated the one you mentioned by someone.
And thank you for your work!
As I think this thread might be useful for those noobs on Android And thank you again for your hard work @Moyster
By the way, seems Audio FX has crashes some times on my device. And I may to tell you that the baseband for international version of m571 might be different from those in China, for we're using TD-SCDMA network for 3G on CMCC(China Mobile). Someone recently tested a MIUI8 rom on 4pda and met the problem on baseband. And what's this for? http://forum.xda-developers.com/t/meizu-m2-note
And it seems m2 note is the only Meizu device (except meizu m2 mini) which has truly unlocked bootloader. And if anyone needs factory firmware or original Flyme firmware for SP Flash Tool ,I can offer that.

You could try to replace the firmware files and if that works for you, make a flashable zip for other chinese users maybe ?
