I am having trouble flashing a new splash screen on my Orbit 2.
I am using the Polaris_CustomRUU.exe from a thread posted here.
I get all the way to the part where I have the status bar on the PC, and the white screen with status bar on Orbit2. Then It just sits there and eventually times out, I am able to restart and everything comes back up.
Any ides.
I am using original O2 ROM.

Hi all,
am I please to find this forum.! I have just bought an Xda Mini S from O2 in the UK.
I have loads of questions but firstly..
Suddenly last night it froze and it will now not get beyond the o2 mobile logo screen.
I have done a hard reset but all I get is 4 bars, red, green, blue and white across the full width aqnd depth of screen with IPL 1.05 and SPL 1.05 displayed.
What is happening and what do I do please?
I have loaded spb pocket and complete an outlook sncy and both seemed to work ok.

The device is stuck in bootloader mode, try a soft reset using the stylus in the reset hole and that should fix it, if not the apply teh ROM again using the ROM on the O2 web site

A soft reset at the boat loader screen (3 colours) just results in the boot freezing at the Windows Mobile screen again.
The hard rest goes to the bootloader screen as does voice +camera + reset. When connected via the USB cable I get "USB" in the lower left corner.
Is there anything I can do from this bootloader screen please?
I also left the battery out overnight but that didn't help either.

try reflashing the ROM, that should sort it.

I did not appreciate I could flash the ROM despite not being able to make a sync connection. I couldn't even see the XDA in device manager so was surpised when the flash utility actually worked.

so i had reset my phone and i had installed the Registry Wizard and such. i turn the phone on and the cingular splash screen comes up and says 2.25 and all that good stuff. then it goes to a white screen. the status lights blink and the screen is responsive as well as the buttons. but all i see is white screen. if i call the phone, the white screen comes up with no sound. ive tried to reset it many times as well, battry out and all that too.
any ideas?
i used an MDA reset thingy i found on this site. it worked. got it to 4 colors and flashing it now. what a pain in the ass.

Which method was successful for you. I have tried virtually everything I have found on this board and still nothing but a white screen. Please help.

I installed the Registry Wizard tonight and the exact same thing happened to me.
When I connect the phone to my PC, it's not recognized so I can't delete the program that way.
Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

So I followed the instructions I found in another thread.
Took out the old .png file. Made a new one... named it and made it hidden within the Windows folder and it works. But it's weird.
When I SR, the cingy splash loads up, then flickers for a bit and the backlight comes on, then my splash comes up like it should. Is that flickering normal? I didn't notice when I had the stock WinMo splash up there.

i am on my 2nd 8525 and they both flipped out on the cingular splash screen (not why i returned my first one) so i would say its normal from my experience
Yeah, I've noticed that and I haven't even changed my splash screen yet. And I'm still on my first 8525.

Is there anyway of removing the splash screen you get when you switch the device on, the touch diamond I have is vodafone branded, it has a horrible red vodafone splash screen for a bout 20 secs.
I am using the SWIFTBL WWE DIAMOND ROM V6.0 on my device.
Sorry if it has already been asked, I did search a few times but I could not find it.

If the red part in the bottom won't go away, I suggest flashing a shipped ROM from HTC, which makes the bottom part black.

Hey people. First time post but first time problem:
So i installed a manila 2D rom last night and i thought it was working quite well... Then it became unstable and restarting and reinstalling itself and freezing until it just now comes onto the HTC Windows Mobile splash screen and does nothing.
So i hold the top two buttons in and reset to get to the three coloured screen and try to flash a new Rom to it and it brings up the progress bar up to two percent, and then restart.
Is there anything i can do or is this phone a right off? Cheers guys )
