ok my girlfriend added music to her sd card sunday night and when doing so synced her phone also and when that happened she lost some contacts and all her calendar appointments.
Is there anyway to get back the info from before this?
I have tried using the stg viewer but can't find where the file would be to see..
any help would be great!!

haha ha ive had that happened to me check the deleted items in outlook and let me know if its there

A few nights ago my mda locked up and all I could do was soft resets. nothing else. was forced to hard reset and lost all contacts. activesync 4.1 wouldn't restore them because partnership was lost. when I connected phone to pc, it created a new profile and my files folder disappeared from my desktop. I rolled windows xp back to the day before it happened and my folder was back, but nothing with contacts. spent 2 hrs on phone with very pleasant T-mobile tech in pda dept. (beautiful voice, so had to keep her on the phone) trying to solve issue. if anyone can help please do, if it cannot be done, can the files containing the contacts and calendar entries be copied back onto my unit, or outlook? (and where are they?) I appreciate any and all help and input.

the contacts and calender shouldn't be a problem to restore, unless they are gone from your outlook folders, check there first, if they're not there, then they're gone, nothing you can do that i know of. just simply reestablish a partnerships, and they should sync after a few mins. hope u got it sorted.

when u sync with the computer, active sync automaticly puts all the data u chose u sync into outlook. start outlook, then have a look around (in contacts and calender) to see if any of your stuff is there.

i duno, look around in start, it's part of ms office. if you haven't got this, then i'm not sure your stuff would have syncd, not sure though.

i hate to say it, but i'm 15 and i kno what to do better! run outlook 03 click on contacts on the left panel, tell me if you see your contacts there.

Synced up my Touch HD this morning and lol and behold, all my contacts started doubling up. Any one else experienced this issue? Or am I doing something really really stupid? This happened with my omnia too..
would really appreciate your help guys!

You sholud use the SKtools to erradicate the doubles.

Both from the same device.
I believe it is currently displaying the Outlook and MSN contacts.
Any way to make it ONLY show the Outlook contacts?
It's a known bug with activesync i know from old Hermes times. If you have this problem the fu..k will double the contacts each synchronizing.
Recommend new sync installation and new start-up synchro.
Yes, one list is from your Outlook contacts, and the other appears from your MSN list when you sync.
Go into the Windows Live sync options and de-select the Store WL Contacts.
I'm not sure if this will delete the doubledup contacts, but will prevent further download of MSN contacts in the future (so you might need to tidy up yoiur contacts list just once).

If you delete your hotmail/live/msn ID in Windows Live options. When you recreate your ID the checkboxes shouldn't be greyed out. It seems to be a one time only choice.

i have this, but i think its phone contacts, andcontacts saved to the sim card.
as i deleted all contacts in sim card and now only have one set of numbers.

I have this problem too, however I can't seem to find the option to delete the my hotmail/live/msn ID. May i know how do I go about deleting them?

My Windows contacts seems ot have dissapeared.
I installed an app called PCM Contact and thathas taken over as the default. I also have Vito Fun Contact installed and sometimes that launched when i press contact instead.
When i uninstall PCMContact, and click on contacts it complains that PCMContact is missing?
Weird thing is earlier today, it came back without me doing anything at all...
Any ideas?

No - not necessarily true! Maybe you have just had a bad experience with some programs.

Ive found that if get the error and then go contacts via the slider and click in contact then the problem seems toncorrect itself, but it cmes again

I get double the contacts and tasks when I use myphone and outlook together
no synch for storage card = fail
It has the option just greyed out so hopefully this will be available at some point then I can use it. I can't fit all my pics and vids on my phone memory.

Can anybody confirm how much space this takes up, or whether it can be installed on the storage card?
Works well, nice to have somewhere to backup my txt over the air. Mind you most of it is useless if you have an exchange server to sync contacts and emails, calendar info.
I already useed the closed beta for a while and it's working well!
Not try my phone yet. but did on google sync. found a problem on google sync. google won't accept big size of photo in contacts. google will resize the photos. Anybody has the same issue on my phone as well?
I've been using this for some time now. Got in beta right from the start which was nice. And I can't imagine not having this piece of software anymore. Especially nice when you upgrade ROMs a lot (like I do ).

is there a way someone could upload the installation file for the touch screen one? the Microsoft official site seems to be upgrading and the official install URL is broken...
it's not really good..it doesn't find any duplicates even when they are present..and it doesn't know merge contacts..

Outlook displays them perfectly but my hd2 for some reason lists them last/first which i find very annoying.

I found out hat the HTC interface sorts contacts using the outlook field DISPLAY AS, which bt default is LAST, FIRST.
I had to go thru all my contacts in outlook an dchange the DISPLAY AS field into FIRST LAST

Hi thanks for posting the cab, but for some reason its not working for me.
I've installed > restarted the phone > went into contacts, but still the same e.g. Lasr, First.
Please could give a brief explanation on how to get it to rearrange the contacts?

After you install the .cab file you have to go in to the program folder and start the app that was installed. But if you sync ur contacts with a google account they will go back to last,first name after each sync.
