Hello all,
Lately I have been having a little trouble with my device. I want to use HTC's Touch xT9 for easy access touch screen T9 input for English language, but if I do that it will disable my Japanese language input ability altogether. I need to be able to input Japanese language on my device because I am a Japanese. The problem, I have found, is that the HTC software has it's own dll file for IME, and if you use any other IME (like the Microsoft IME 3.1 J for Japanese) it will not be able to shift into xT9 mode and be limited to QWERTY keyboard mode. I hope you understand what I am saying. Anyway, if anyone has any experience with this or another issue where 2 IME software conflicts and have any idea how to correct this situation, please let me know. I will be greatly appreciative of you if you can. Thanks in advance!

I’ve been using an Ipaq hx2750 for over a year now, but feel a huge need of having a keyboard. Strongly considering the Wizard (the Qtek or K-Jam), I’m interested in finding out more about the ability to customize the keyboard layout to support Swedish characters (å, ä and ö).
Surfing to www.myqtek.com and choosing Swedish, brought me to the insight, that there is a Swedish version of the device. This means both Swedish keyboard and ditto OS. Since I’d prefer my OS in English, I wonder whether it is possible to change the normal WWE version’s keyboard mapping to match the picture found on this web site (which is the Swedish version of the device).
I’ve read about this keyboard mapper, but need to get confirmed that it can be done.
If it is possible to generate the mentioned Swedish characters on a “native” WWE Wizard's keyboard (without any patches or remapping), it would also be of interest and enough info for me to buy the English version.
On www.myqtek.com, I also found the following file, which was supposed the remap the keyboard to Swedish in case a hard reset was done on a device (however, this might only relate to units with the Swedish OS). The file is located here http://www.myqtek.com/downloadFile....dic_keyboard_1102.sa.cab&node=5040&media=5037.
If someone has a “clean unit” and don’t mind doing a Hard Reset to retrieve the English keyboard setting, I’m very interested in finding out whether the patch generates a Swedish keyboard map on an English unit as well.
I’ve spent quite a few hours scanning this forum on the mentioned issue, but without being able to narrow it down just to the keyboard remapping (most posters are interested in altering the whole ROM into another language as well).
Thanks in advance for any suggestions or comments!
Best regards,
Bateman
I cant answer directly to your question, but in finland there is few shops, which are selling qtek 9100 wwe with swedish keyboard. Its little bit more expensive than wweOS/wwe keyb (something like 10-15euros).
Other product which you should look is Skandinavisk tastatur

Thanks for the reply! The suggsted link changes the soft keyboard into Swedish. Additionally to change the slide-out keyboard's layout into Swedish, simply run the small program found on www.myqtek.se. The small application can be removed like any other program through "Remove programs" in Start->Settings.
I now have a WWE Qtek9100 with Swedish layout on the hardware keyboard.
Hi, first of all sorry if i post in the wrong sub. i was really curious if we can change the language support for our t9 or xt9 on our windows mobile devices, i know there's a lot of phones/smartphones that has t9 support in their local language. any ideas guys? i'm trying to get indonesian language t9 support.

Hi,
i upgrade my T-Mobile 3G Dash with the ROM (8-23-2009 HTC Snap Asia/Europe (Unbranded) ROM 1.19.707.2)
for Chinese language support. it can display Chinese properly.
but i got a problem for the keyboard:
as HTC snap has different keyboard layout as T-Mobile for numbers and symbols...
so it won't properly output the numbers, etc.
i don't know how to fix it.
is it anyway that i can change the layout? or somebody can help to make a Chinese ROM for T-Mobile Dash 3G?
Many thanks!
fix for keyboard layout issue
Hey there,
I faced the same problem with the latest Asian Rom (6.5) and it turned out all it needed was to overwrite the keymap, .txt, (search for it in this forum) file under /Windows. Use total commander to avoid access permission errors. That, however, does not solve the issue with the input method. The default IME is A4 and is based on the key layout of a snap. Guess we'll have to wait till HTC or someone proficient at coding to incorporate the correct key map into that IME.
Hope the above helps.

Hi all,
Ive never liked any other language than English on any of my devices (it just feels like a really bad synchronized German movie to me if its anything but English) and on my G1 this has always been fine because i just type wickedly fast on my physical keyboard. However, my fancy towards the English menus has infected my other half but she has a Magic so she would actually benefit from a Dutch dictionary, quick-fixes, suggestions and the works.
So here's my question to all you Magic experts; Is there a way to keep the systems language at English but change the dictionary and all stuff related to text input to Dutch?
Thanks!
Any input on this, anybody?
I would think this would impossible from my stand-point. You can only select 1 Keyboard input language (for this example, English) and this means that the dictionary it uses to spell check is the English one. I don't think you can change this procedure at all.
Hi!
I was wondering if there is some way to add Estonian languages to touch input dictionaries. Slide IT from Dasur has the language pack for Estonia but I would need help from extracting the words from there too. (I have SlideIT, but it does not suit for me)
I tried the User Dictionary manager, but it didn't work on Wildfire.
Every bit of help is really apreciated!
Hey
Have you already tried MultiLing Keyboard by Honso? There should be estonian dictionary also. That's not a straight solution for your problem but might be a good workaround
