Can sameone with the old rom check how it works?

Q7 Will GPRS get disconnected if a phone call comes in?
Answer:
Priority will go to phone calls. Thus, GPRS will be suspended during the call and automatic resumed after the call.
Maybe a bug?

Hi,
The point is a don´t get the call. It goes direct to the voice mail.
If using Wifi then the connection drops and I can answer the call.
Any ideas why
JoseF
Yes same here in india with Cellone service, i installed all the three roms available on this site and some setting combinations ie network to automatic / manual etc
the problem persists, i have a unlimited gprs package with the service but cannot use, i tested the sim on P910, Nokia 6680 works perfectly, so not a sim problem not a service problem, it is the problem with O2 Atom, having this problem since day one
hope newer roms will have this problem solved
GPRS can use 1, 2 or 4 data slots depending how busy the cells (towers) are in your area. If you happen to be using 4 slots and you get a call the call will not get through, if you're only using 1 or 2 slots then your call can get through...
Pot luck really...
JohnK1973
thanks for the info,
but i do not know if the setting you mentioned is changable, as ichecked my atom there is no option, i checked immedialetly one after the other once on atom and next on P910 same location same chair same room, it works on P910 but not on atom i can confirm because i called the cell from my landline (the land line is of different service provider)
anybody know how to switch off the feature that makes the atom automatically answer all calls on the 2nd or 3rd ring when the head phones are plugged in??
I have a Atom exec and am having the same problem of it auto answering calls. But in mine it happens even without the head phones. It just vibrates once and answers the call. I did a rom upgrade as well as a hard reset but the problem is still there. I think this is a software glitch because as soon as I hard reset it it works, But if i try to change ANY settings (ex:edit the items in the today screen) the problem reappears. Please help me on this....
automatically answer
I have same problem. But when changed another network sim phone will work fine. I asked about this problem from my network operator they told me some sim cards not support with this phone so its automatically answer the calls.
I checked it and i fix my error.
The phone I have is a T-mobile MDA Compact that has been network unlocked.
The problem is that it is unable to make or receive normal calls. The symptoms vary across networks, with vodafone being the most functional. The symptoms are as follows.
----
Tesco Mobile SIM: - no service.
----
T-Mobile SIM: Connects to network and shows a signal, but no call functions work.
----
vodafone SIM (ASDA): Connects to network, shows a signal, can send and receive text messages, can make 999 calls.
Can't make or receive normal calls:
When trying to dial out the display goes from "dialing" to "call ended" and three quiet beeps can be heard, the dialed phone never rings.
If called from BT landline the caller simply hears "Error" and callers from other mobile phones hear a variety of different tones (engaged, beeps etc)
If the phone is switched off, the callers get the usual "the phone you are calling is not available" message.
------
The phone has a CheckMend certificate to show that it is not lost or stolen, and T-Mobile have confirmed that the IMEI is not barred on their network.
-----
While attempting to fix this:
I have reflashed the phone with several ROMs and updated the radio from 1.12 to 1.13, but the original problem remains unchanged.
I Have E-mailed HTC technical support with a description of the problem but as yet have had no reply.
If any one is able to shed any light on this I would be very grateful.
similar problem, but i can send or receive SMS, but when i try to call or answer after cca 10sec it cut the line and show a sign of searching for signal...
flashed new ROM, same problem, chanhge automatic to manual, same...
is it a software or hardware problem, i can try to open and clean a dust (in one service said that could be a problem) which cause a bad contact with internal antenna
hi, did you get this problem sorted? i have the same thing with my spv m700, cant believe its hardware though as all other functions ar great
thanks
Hello
Some days ago I received my HTC Shift and I am very satisfied!
Unfortunately there is one strange Problem:
I am using a MultiSIM by T-Mobile, that means I have one number for multiple devices.
If the HTC Shift would make phone calls and someone calls me, the shift and my MDA Vario III would be ringing.
When I activate the Modem in my Shift it seems the Shift receives phone calls and then denies them! So nobody can call me when I am using my shift, since all calls are directed to my mailbox
Has anyone of you an idea what can I do?
(btw: I unlocked my Shift already to full WM6 )
The shift doesnt support phone calls...even if you have on sim card it wont ring
Use it for its gprs/edge/3g and sms sending n receiving

Hello
thats exactly what I like to use the shift for. I am not interested in making phone calls with it.
But the Shift is blocking calls, which should also arrive on my mobile phone...
I think HTC has made this blocking to avoid connection problems when somebody tries to calls the shift (which is not supported).
Is this right?
Might work?
I don't know for sure about T-Mobile. I am using a similar service (they call it "FlexiCard") from E-Plus. They have a function that allows you to designate one of your SIM cards as the primary card. This is the card that will receive calls (and SMS) first, only if this card is not active (phone turned off) or busy a call or SMS will be routed to the other card.
However, there seems to be a service difference between T-Mobile and E-Plus: I have the SIM card in my Shift still designated as the "primary" card. If the modem is turned on, this is interpreted by E-Plus as "busy", so calls go to my phone (which holds the "secondary" card). If the modem is turned off, the SIM card in my Shift is obviously inactive and not visible to the mobile network. So the only reason for me to switch "primary" vs. "secondary" would be to continue receiving SMS messages on my phone rather than the Shift. Unfortunately, for SMS E-Plus does not bother whether the "primary" card is active / busy or not, SMS always go to that card (understandable when you look at how SMS works on mobile networks).
If you don't find any information about switching primary/secondary card in your documentation that came with the card I suggest contacting the T-Mobile hotline. They should be able to tell you whether this functionality is available with your "MultiSIM" and how to switch "primary" between the cards.
Thank you mw65719 four your tip.
I just phoned with T-Mobile support.
They don't support it like Eplus to switch between SIMCards.
It is just possible to define a primary card for SMS service, not for phone calls. Whenever someone calls me both phones are ringing.
So I will have to buy a new contract with T-Mobile just for data transfer, which is more expensive than the combination of phone/data contract.
I have the same issue with the MultiSIM from t-mobile. Both phones (the other one is a Touch) are ringing, after the first ring a line-busy message is generated.
Seems that the Shift in canceling the incoming call after the first ring.
Does anyone has an idea to solve this problem instead of splitting the MultiSIM into two separate contracts?
Have just opened a suuport case at HTC Europe concering this issue. Seems to be a German (and t-mobile) specific problem.....
speech service ?!

find out how the call canceled
a: is it the 3g modem that set the networkstatus to -> data service only
b: or a apllication that will call canceled - reason busy
see here what i mean
http://www.t-mobile.de/downloads/laptop/hyperterminalmulti-sim-anleitung.pdf
I think it's part of the WinMo/SnapVue side.
Vista enables a lan connection with WinMo for internet.
So there could be settings in the registry to enable/disable this busy status.
I try to find somethin, but unfortunately i'm not a pro like others here in the Board.
Where are you folks, on Planet Mars, everyone and all documents I read say that the Shift cannot support phone calls???????

I had some phone calls with T-Mobile Business support and they told me a trick how to activate the phone function, but I dont get this to work.
What I have to do is the following:
1. Download and install a hyper terminal application on Windows mobile (I found http://www.cambridgevx.com (Server seems to be down at the moment))
2. Open a direct connection to the modem
3. Enter the following commands:
3a: AT_odo?
(this should show 1 which means speech is deactivated
3b: AT_odo=0
(speech is beeing activated)
4. Reset Windows Mobile and the phone should be activated
I was told this is known to work on some data modems and should work on the HTC Shift too.
But always I try setp 2 I get an error "cannot open data connection"
Has anyone an idea?

problem there is no phone pad aka dial pad in production models as far as i know. so even if u can re enable it u wont have any images etc... it'll most likely require a custom rom or if we get lucky a cab.

I am not interested in using the phone pad.
I like to solve the busy line problem (read some posts above). When activating the speech on modem side, this would be solve and I could use my Shift with my MultiSIM-Card

souds interesting ! .. have you try some scenarios ? with 3G enabled, with 3G disabled, with wifi enabled, with wifi disabled ... etc ?
I can't try myself.. but as there are data connection through 3G.. I think that it is possible to find a solution to the step 2 !
Anybody found a solution for this?
Getting my shift soon, and im going for a twin sim solution. would suck if i cant get phone calls on my kaiser cos the shift is on in snap vue mode and rejects the calls.
I am experiencing the same Problem with my Shift.
It is crazy, because my Mobile rings a halt time, then the Shift rejects the call. Afterwards, I have to call back.
The problem should be able to solve, but you have, anyhow, to tell the shifts modem not to reject voice calls. Still, I do not know how to tell the modem
Hello?
Has anyone resolved this issue? I'm a new MultiSIM user, and the idea of not having any internet with my shift is ****ing me off (that would make it as useful as a brick ).
Any resolution is appreciated.
Cheers.
HI @ all, i don´t know, if you fixed that problem.
I´m a multi SIm user too. With the original Radio Version (shipped with german SHIFT) the same problem. After that, i update the radio Version to the Phone edition radio Version:
see:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=486234
(but here always my WinCE Side was really slow??) so I Downgrade back the phone edition
1.27.35.28 and ce OS version 5.2.1620 (I00 ROm I think)
And now, Phone is working, and never the Multisim usage hangs up.
I don´t know why, i play every 1 month with Shift and upgrade, downgrade something, then the most time shift is not in use, so i don´t make a history what happend...
:-(
But with the new radio Version it will work.
maybe this rom work too:
Cmonex posted another radio for backup. This radio is for original rom (ie all other roms from the forum). Look for the link on page 5, or here
http://rapidshare.com/files/20211808...ift1582123.zip <- this is not for the phone or for this rom

it happens with all multiple sims when you have all the devices activated!!!...
when you have multiple sims and you have all the devices open...
which device should accept the call ??
it does not work as douplex land line... not all of your mobile devices should ring at the same time ... obviously the one that was opened first and got the signal from your provider should get the line...
the twin sim solution works fine with me ... plus unlimited internet access from phone and the shift...
BUT one device open at a time ...
Hi there
I am sitting here with lots of pulled-out hair lying around me on the floor. I have a problem with voicemail on my Orange SPV M700 which is wearing me down to a pitiful heap and if one of you clever people can help I will be grateful for even longer than eternity (and that's a very long time!).
I have an Orange SPV M700 which refuses to notify me when someone has left a voicemail. I think it's probably been like it ever since I started using an Orange 3G PAYG sim (I think it's called a USim).
Firstly, I have seen odd postings by others who have problems with voicemail on their SPV M700s, but they are normally people who have upgraded to WM6. I have not touched the operating system on my SPV M700 so am still running Windows Mobile ver 5.
By doing some tests/process of elimination, I have established the following:
1) Orange 3G PAYG SIM card does NOT give Voicemail notification when used in my Orange SPV M-700, but if I put the same Orange 3G PAYG SIM card into another phone (a old Samsung E700) the voicemail notification DOES work of the Samsung! Therefore I concluded that the problem isn't with the Orange SIM card or even, I presume, the Orange network.
2) An old Orange PAYG SIM card that I used to use DOES give Voicemail notification when in Orange SPV M700. Therefore I concluded that the Orange SPV M700 IS actually capable of giving out voicemail notifications. Please note that I notice that when the old Orange SIM card is in the SPV M700 the small square icon on the today screen top-bar is showing an "E" as the type of connection (I presume that's what it means?). When the problematic Orange 3G PAYG SIM card is in the SPV M700 the small square icon normally is showing a "3G"
This has led me to conclude that it's something to do with the SPV M700 not being happy with the Orange 3G PAYG SIM - or at least there's some setting that is wrong etc. However I have tried most things and still it refuses to notify me of awaiting voicemails.
Here is a list of my configuration settings on my SPV M700. If anyone can spot something that is wrong which may be the reason why I don't get voicemail notifications I'd be so grateful to know what is wrong as I can't keep phoning my voicemail all the time, just to see if anyone has left a message, as it's costing a lot of money to do that. By the way - I don't have any problems being notified that a new text message has been sent, that seems to work fine.

Basically I have everything set to notify me and also Display message on Screen.I am hoping someone can help - letting me know if I have something set up incorrectly or whether I need a fix for the phone etc. I would rather not upgrade to WM6 as I feel that I might end up with more problems. I am quite happy with WM5 - it's just the voicemail problem...
Thanks for taking the time to read this posting - I am sure I can't be the only Orange SPV M700 owner who has had this problem?
Cheers for now
Man in need of Assistance...
Theres a cab file floating around somewhere called smsfix (if memory serves me right). This used to cure the voicemail problem with orange sims, hope this helps.
Sorry, its called sms providers fix.
Have alook at this post
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=1212958&postcount=20
The "sms providers fix" will fix the problem as i've been using it for over a year with no issue's.
Hi - firstly many thanks for taking the time to post a reply to my problem. I will check out the "sms providers fix". I have seen a couple of refernences to it when I originally searched however it only ever seemed to be for people who had upgraded their ROMs to WM6. I have never done that and am still running the original Orange WM5 so assumed that the correct dll's etc were still on my WM5 phone.
I will download the files and see what happens.
...just noticed that user "Forza" mentions to make sure that the sdk certificates are installed first before installing the "sms providers fix" - do you reckon that would apply to me when I am still using the original Orange WM5 ROM?
Thanks again!
Bit miffed that although the SPV M700 looks & feels nice - buggy MiniSD card handling & other weird stuff means that I have got to get involved with all this Hard SPL-ing, ROM Upgrading & Radio stuff - confusing to a novice like me... time will tell if it's all been a big mistake!

just seen that in your sig.....
trust me mate, its worth every minute flashing your rom, especially up to 6.1....much better than WM5
i was in the same boat as you, SPV M700 straight out of the box locked to orange etc...now im on custom roms, unlocked to any network, and on 6.1......best thing i ever did.
Hi Gizmolisa
Thanks for your reply. I guess I kinda know that you are right about upgrading to WM6. It's something I have fancied doing ever since getting the SPV M700 - my main problem is the concerns I have if I screw it up. I use the SPV M700 so much (not actually much as a phone - more for its PDA features) and if I botched up the upgrade I'd be really lost without it.
Having said that... maybe I should pluck up the courage and have a go. It just seems that there's quite a lot of things you have to get just right and because it's the Orange version of the Trinity i gather that once I start there's no going back to the original setup if things go wrong.
Wish I was braver!!!!
Cheers - still thinking about taking the plunge!!!!
