Should I get the screen protector or bumper case? I don't want the glass to break.
I'm getting the bumper and a screen protector. Cases are too unwieldy for my taste

If the bumper case come with carbon fiber backing, pretty sure I will get one.
A bumper cas with some sort of backing might be interesting, but I don't see much of a point with bumpers that are just going around the edges.
If the bumper case isn't too bulky I will get it. I can't stand bulky cases like otterbox etc..
i'm planning to get those book-style case, so no need for screen protector.
Where's the vote option for both?
I plan on having a bumper case with a Best Skin ever full body skin... Hopefully it all fits :X

Elliot, are you getting rid of your Infuse too?
I will probably get both, but for sure a bumper case. If I feel the need for a screen protector, I have used ZAGG before and I like there screen protectors, just gives it sort of an orange peel look to it though.
Both maybe,Screen protector for sure.Have destroyed too many displays
The Thickest case available in the market, the back glass breaks easily, the verge review is a proof, the phone then looks too ugly, i have destroyed cells by dropping and would not like to take chances with this phone

Right now I have a slim case on my phone, while it does protect the back of the phone. It does not do much more then that, and the front screen is very exposed.
Right now I'm looking to buy this case
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Blue-RUGGED...454592?pt=PDA_Accessories&hash=item416f6f8840
Does anyone have experience with this case? Or another rugged case?
I know the ionic guardian is a thing, but I don't like it.
I'd rather have this case.

Your phone will most likely fall on a corner, having silicone rubber in the corner instead of the polycarbonate should provide better protection. Now if only I could fine a seller that ships to canada.

I believe there is silicon under the hard plastic. I had something similar. It also has a kickstand. Better off going with the op case.

I got mines in the mail today. Pretty solid case, especially for the price. I previously had the Exact Armor/ionic guardian case, but I needed a belt clip combo, so this deal did the trick.
FYI, I ordered the blue rubber with black shell one. The blue is much darker compared to the listing pictures, almost seeming like it has a bit of violet in it.
In the picture it seems that the phone case has a kick stand. Is that so? I am talking about the case itself, and NOT the belt holster. Let me know.
I'm waiting for the Ballistic Shell Gel and the Trident Aegis as far as rugged cases go. Hopefully they come within a few weeks!

Yes, the case itself has a built-in kickstand. It reliably clicks into place when folding it in and folding it out. The blue in the photo is actually darker in person.

Quick questions:
neugenusis, if i understand the picture correctly, the holster protects the screen? does it slip in and out easy? i would use the holster to protect the screen instead of a pouch. does the clip remove (to keep it in my pocket)?
Thanks!
Background:
Right now I am using a $5 TPU cheap case with a leather pouch. The combo works really well. I don't like screen protectors and the pouch keeps the phone perfectly safe from scratches when I have it in my pocket.
I'm afraid the thin TPU won't be good protection against a hard drop so that is why I am interested in these tough cases.

Richieboy67, can you elaborate on why you think OP case is better? These two cases seem to be the exact inverse of each other. One has an exo-skeleton that clips into the silicon on the corners and the other has one that clips in on the sides. Silicon material is absent to make the notches so OP's case on the corners has less material and thus seems more vulnerable there than the one ackbarthegreat has suggested.
Thanks in advance for your opinions.

My thoughts exactly. I figure if it is good enough for people designing otterbox, ballistic etc it is good enough for me.

The phone is suppose to face the holster, thus protecting the screen. The phone won't fit comfortably facing the other way. There's enough friction between the phone and holster that if I violently shake the holster, the phone still won't come loose even at the slightest. While phone and holster is on my belt, I grip the holster with 2 fingers and push the bottom of my phone upward with another finger till the phone gets halfway through the holster, then i pull the phone entirely out with my hand, so wouldn't consider its an instant simple slip in and slip out, but I don't consider it difficult either. It gives me a better sense of security. The clip does not appear to be removable from the holster unless, I suspect, some excessive force is applied.

The silicon piece covers the entire back and edges of the phone. The hard plastic shell goes over the silicon. The silicon is thinner where the hard plastic shell covers for an overall flush shape. The one ackbarthegreat suggested, the corners are full silicon. On mine, its half silicon, half hard plastic. Though ackbarthegreat suggestion's corners does seem slightly thinker, I wouldn't say there is significantly less material. It is similar to Seidio's Active case for the N4.
I'm just ordered a case like this one but in red! I'm using the exact Armor already. But I want a case that also protect the open ports from dust! This has a cover for the 3.5 mm headphone jack and the use port.

have you even tried any of these amazon/ebay cases?
i got my step-father a ballistic case for his S2 and i just got the Exact Armor case from Amazon for my Nexus 4, the fit is just as good minus branding. and lets not begin with the price, i love ballistic's cases but it hard to argue a case that is virtually the same thing for -$20.00 in price. this case seems to be on par with a Kraken case... but oh well... i want to make a video review once i get this case
My original Yotaphone 2 has got two cracks on the front screen, one on the back and the GPS is broken. The back screen is so matt and smooth that it makes the phone very slippy and it's had many corner bangs on the floor.
With the recent massive price drops, I ordered a new one and I also ordered both an aluminium snap-on protector and a silicon protector to see which works best. While the aluminium one is very nice looking and potentially offers good protection from a fall, its finish makes the phone even more slippy. The silicon one gives nice grip all the way around and is much more secure.
I highly recommend getting one of these cheap silicon protectors from eBay or wherever. While I'm at it, I also got a glare-free screen protector for the front-screen, which gives the front screen an equivalent matt finish to the rear one. It really gives it an edge in terms of feel of quality.
You can get a nice and cheap protector here:

I have a silicone case, but it does not fit very well and due to the "grippy" texture, it does not slide out of my pocket easily.
the aluminium case blocks GPS reception
I woulud recommend the original bumper

Which is the best back cover for our one plus 5 ? Anybody from India , Please suggest.
Spigen Rugged Armor
Been covering my phone with it for almost 3 months. Good grip, no scratches, no drops etc... Fits well with fabric front foil or anti fingerprint screen protector.

I wouldn't get the ringke the bumper just gets super messed up on those. I'd say the best thing I like about orzly is that it just feels so much secure. You can check my review on Amazon.in I have some pics uploaded there too.
I can only say don't get the Kevlar one from the official site. You can't use the alert slider in that. And it just looks bulky. Got one and using it.

I think because of the rubber sides it would feel more grippy compared to Ringke's sort of slippery material (I bought one for op3 last year). I had read all the reviews on Amazon and surely leaned towards Orzly only. What color do you have though?

I got the black one. The grip is hands down the best I've used. I've had many phones over the years and this is the most slippery one. But this case just makes me feel so much comfortable holding the phone.

I can vouch for this, since I use the same case.
I use the spiegen case
Spigen Neo Hybrid for ruggedness and Nillkin basic is a decent average in all areas.
The OnePlus 5 Bumper Case Karbon direct from oneplus is the best!
Expensive but best protection. I tested it last night Fall from 1,5 m on the really rainy road without any damage (phone or case)
Greetings
Looking to order a compatible case with Whitestone dome glass. Looking for something that doesn’t sit right on top of the glass, just in case it pushes it up when in and out of the pocket and bag
Spigen. Using it with Whitestone. No issues.

The rugged armor supposedly doesn't fit, which is a shame as i was using that one on each and every one of my smartphones. The tough armor fits perfectly though, and i am quite happy with it. The kickstand might be useful but doesn't seem to be that robust. Time will tell.
Another favorite of mine was the ringke onyx case. That one does not fit.
I've used the Spigen Neo Hybrid in the past and currently the UAG Monarch with the Whitestone and have had zero issues.

I meant in combination with the whitestone dome glass. The upper lipp was just sitting too tight. I didn't want to risk the glass to peel up, so i deemed it as unfit.
You should have a look at this list, made for S9/S9+: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/11upU3Lh5bIZl3rPAoN23gCxBDU6MwkNZyEzY01HLUeE
Unfortunately, even if one case from company works, it doesn't mean that the rest are compatible. There are even cases of the same lineup (Spigen Ultra Hybrid) which are compatible and others aren't. In my opinion, if you want an ultra-thin case, then the Torras is the best bet. The Spigen Neo Hybrid is great (got one) for slim ---but adequate- protection. If you want the best protection possible, you should be looking at the UAG Monarch (expensive) or Otterbox Symmetry & Strada
Personally, I gave up on the Whitestone and now got myself an Otterbox Strada. Partly due to VR compatibility (I do AI research and now working on a VR project) and partly due to installation problems; once with the phone sitting tool was weirdly tight (compare to the 2nd kit I got) for the phone and the other it was my fault. Also, I got tired to looking for cases that are compatible. VR
I used that list posted above and this has been my experience so far.
I can confirm that UAG Plasma will push on the Whitestone.
The Spigen Neo Hybrid does work with Whitestone, but there's very little separation between case and Whitestone. The case does extend past the added thickness of the glass, so it will protect the Whitestone if placed face down.
Samsung Alcantara case doesn't seem to push the Whitestone despite seemingly touching. Perhaps the alcantara fibers makes it look worse than it actually is, but I didn't want to take the risk.
I'm currently using a Tech21 Evo Tactical and it gives the largest space to the Whitestone than any of the previous covers above. It's also a very thin case, yet has great drop protection. Lastly, this case provides more face down protection than the Neo Hybrid.
I went with the tech21 evo tactical due to @coiledwire post above

Agreed. My Whitestone install is 99.9% perfect and I don't want a case to mess with it. I'm loving this tech21 case. Its pricy for what it is, but it works really well with the Whitestone, looks nice, and feels solid.
UAG monarch fits really well, plenty of space like the tech21 tactical
