qmail - where are my retrieved messages? - Windows Mobile Development and Hacking General

I am having bad day with my phone!
I just installed qmail on my htc TYTN-II, it all seemed to install fine and setting up my accounts was a breeze, however it has not worked properly on my first retrieval of messages.
Firstly the send and recieve option is grayed out and the only way to get messages is via the goround option, is this correct?
When I clicked goround it goes off and logs onto my email accounts and said it was retrieving some messages however once it has finished they are nowhere to be seen! Where have my messages gone?
Any help greatly appreciated!
Thanks
Neil

hi
I've had the same problem.
I suspect that the problem is with your phones date.
please be 100% sure that the date is correct.
mobile outlook is setup to show only messages that were received in the last 3 days.
please make sure that you have such messages and then make sure that the date on your phone is correct.
mine was 03-07-08
but it should have been 07-03-08 so the messages didnt get saved on the phone
hope this helps

Test Message Threading

MDA Touch Plus..recently just had it back from repair, but they have also done a software upgrade.
Unfortunately now my text messages are threaded and showing "Conversation with" and just the mobile number. Therefore I have to look up my contacts for who is sending me a text message.
Been through all the settings and I have deleted all sim contacts from my contacts list.
Racking my brains here, any help guys how to get it back so i can see contact names again in my messages? I dont mind if they are still threaded so long as I can see who it is.
thanks in advance.
My wife's got the same issue. Just been back to T-Mobile for repair, got the latest firmware installed and now contacts aren't being recognised in the threaded messages.
A temporary fix seems to be to amend the contact mobile number to start +447xxx rather than 07xxx and this seems to work, but as she's got a couple of hundred contacts (uses her phone for work as well as personal use) it's gonna take some time to update them all.
Don't have this issue with either my Diamond or my Trinity (both also running WM6.1).
Any further help appreciated!
One option might be to disable threaded SMS - install this cab and all should be well again.
Hope that works for you!
Message thread resolved.
It works! Many thanks Khrushy

Recovering lost sms messages

Hey everyone,
hope not a repost, made a little search but couldn't find anything related.
I was receiving several important SMS messages about an hour ago and I was moving them to a folder under Inbox. Then I soft-reseted my device (sorry, original Wm5 HP 6915) and then the first time the phone couldn't find a GSM service. Then I resetted my device again.. and.. oops.. all the messages I received and moved are gone, not the ones residing in the Inbox itself which are received just minutes ago before the mentioned ones.
That's bad because they were important, thats why I've been moving them from Inbox.
Any help to retreive/recover those SMSs back? Looked out for some software but all are some sort of backup utilities.
This is damn important
Thank you.
btw I dloaded mail account repair from http://nicolasmauri.blogspot.com/2007/01/wm5-utility-recover-your-lost-mail.html, chose SMS and said do it, and nothing happened.

[MMS/SMS] messed up - solved

I don't know if anyone else has encountered this problem, but it seems to me my SMS/MMS manager is messed up. I had a SMS conversation with 2 contacts and they received all my messages at once, 3 times.. I also received several errors at once "message could not be delivered, stored as concept" (needed to press 10 times OK). I received a MMS but couldn't download it (mms worked perfect with my previous phone). I sent 3 MMS's, but only the first one was received. When I try to open "sent items" my manager "blocks" (and does weird things when I keep scrolling down), but I can go back to the other folders. Is it normal that every message I sent is stored in Outbox?
Another q, how can I display "time" in my topbar? I know it was possible with my P3600, but since HTC Home it's a bit difficult to find this (non-existing) option.
Thanks.
I don't have this problem with my Snap - I have an unlocked HTC-branded device (not obtained from a network provider), OS details as per my signature. You?
To get the clock to show in the Windows Mobile Standard icon bar you need ClockOnTop.exe - there's no facility to put the time and date there otherwise (as you could with Windows Mobile Professional).
See here.
Thanks, I got the clock installed now.
I also have an unbranded HTC device. ROM: 1.19.404.1, Radio: 3.45.25.30A.
So you can access "sent items" without a problem? And your outgoing messages, are they stored in "Outbox" or "Sent items"?
I did something wrong during the first setup of my device:
When asked for my internet connection, I pressed "cancel" since my internet provider wasn't listed. Therefore the setup of my device wasn't completed and that's why my message system was driving mad. Probably also the result of receiving a few messages before completion.
I performed a hard reset, chose a random provider and everything's working fine now!
SOLVED!

Well I had the same problem and it was really screwed up, my settings were listed and applied. That night it sent my messages time after time to all the contacts I sent messages to previously. I thought there would be something wrong in the network but my operator ensured me the messages originated from my device at a +- 10 minute pace.
I contacted HTC support in the Netherlands, I was told to do a hard reset and it was fixed. I recommend hard resetting all new Snap devices upon first use to eliminate this problem. I also received a message from a fellow new-Snap-owner who had the same problem, so watch out with this as it will tear up your phone bill!
My Snap is unlocked HTC branded and everything else seems perfectly fine!
Thanks for the clockontop tip btw!
ozone unlocked

A couple of issues

Hi Guys,
Ive had my HD2 for a couple of months now, its been running ok. I do love the phone but ive had a few issues of recent.
SMS Problem, now ive read about the sms loading issues, wrong timing etc
My problem is when I send an SMS the other person receives them like a day late, sometimes they get it straight away. I have checked to see I have signal and the message has gone through but even then the problem persists.
"get html" is another issue. I currently sync with my work exchange server however, when I try to select "HTML" email format it is greyed out and instead I have to choose plain text. I think at first when setting up the account I do get the HTML option but this must automatically go back to plain text
I have also tried going into an individual message clicking menu > view > get html
but even this is greyed out!!
Hope someone can help, Thanks!

For the SMS problem, try disabling the HTC messaging client with this app http://handheld.softpedia.com/get/Tweaks/Zenyee-Disable-HTC-Messaging-82632.shtml. This will revert it to the default windows mobile one, which seems to have no issues.
2nd issue, not sure - never used it.

E-mail notification problem, need help please.

Got my HD2 yesterday and went through all the steps to install Kumar's rom. Everything is running great but I have just one small problem.
The e-mail notifier on the home screen shows I have 1 new message when I don't. I've tried reading all that it downloaded, deleting all e-mails, deleting e-mail account, and setting it up again. It still shows I have 1 unread e-mail.
Is there a registry key I can change to fix this problem? Or perhaps another method I have not tried yet?
Have you tired a battery pull or a soft reset. I have had this issue once before and also check in your htc mail box if there is any boxes that have unopened mail that might be it also.
Have tried resetting the device. Will check the HTC thing, if you could tell me how to find it that is...
just go to your inbox that says it has a message. on the top left if you click inbox a drop down list showing all your folders should show and check in those folders.
Found this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=677686
which he suggest the same thing I did but the person who posted the question did not respond on wether it fixed it or not.
Found it, bah stupid Outlook e-mail having messages in it when I never set it up. Thank you for your help.
