While attempting to flash my wing via SD with these steps.
1 BackUp your Herald (if possible)
2 Format your micro-sd card with FAT32
3 Unpack the .nbh file of the Rom you want to use if needed
4 Rename the .nbh file to Heraimg.nbh and place this file, and only this file onto your micro-sd card.
5 Place the micro-sd card in your Herald
6 Put the Herald in bootloader-modus by pressing simultanious camera- and comm. manager button and performing a softreset. Keep pressing both buttons until the bootlaoderscreen appears.
7 Your screen will display the instructions to press the key on the left side of your device (slide the volumebar down)
8 Follow the instructions as displayed.
9 After flashing perform a hard reset as prompted!
10 Tada
Once I get to bootloader screen at the bottom for a split second it says "searching for sd card" but never finds it. Ive been flashing for a little bit back and enjoyed alot of Ferias work.Ive enjoyed 3Gen MDAs and have had three. Ive flashed via SD card on the MDAs and never had this problem. Theirs gotta be something Im missing. Any help or constructive criticism would be appreciated.

hello,
i'm using the xdatools to put the nk file on the SD card, but when i hard reset my xda, i get into bootloader 5.22 mode, it says "gsm ok", and when i press the action button i get into a test menu.
How can i load the nk file from my sd card? please help.
thanks guys.
Did you place the ROM on the SD card by browsing to your device (...) or using the drop down and choosing your SD reader or XDA SD slot?
I had the same problem until I used the drop down... if you browse to your card, XDA tools will not create a bootable SD.
i used directy dropping down the box to SD
When you use the drop down menu on the destination there should be a drive letter next to your card eg: F: 59.60M USB sd reader or similar, choose that and it should work.
do we soft reset or hard reset
well after loading nk.nbf file
do we soft reset or hard reset to get into bootloader.
also,
the drive letter in destination folder will come if u use card reader,
but if in expansion slot than it does not give the drive letter.
Hello
I did hard reset .
I am having this same problem...
I download to the SD card through the cradle, using the phone's expansion slot. I do a SOFT RESET, to get the bootloader, and all I get is a GSM OK message. If I hit the action button, I then get into the test menu.
Hello
Means you have no nb.1 on your SD card .
as per the instructions I've been following that have been listed in detail here on this site as well as the att siemens support forums, you are supposed to copy the nk.nbf file and use that with the OS Image tool...is this incorrect?
OSImage
I just installed new ROM from new ROM Kitchen .
http://lumpistefan.dyndns.org/
1) Get the file on your desktop ( download or ...I do not care)
2) Open OSInage
3) Source  Brows to your file
4) Destination  your SD card (where is it :?: -on your phone
or on the SD card reader)
5) Copy the file to SD card (takes 20 seconds)
6) Remove the XDA from the cradle and soft reset with power button held in.
7) When it says press action to download, push the big button between dial and hangup.
8) Hard reset.
9) Injoy the rest of your day
No way getting SD-Card recognized
Hello,
i have the same problem, the ROM (Made with xda-tools or XDArit) on sd-card is not recognized to download when i boot into bootloader!
I found no way to get this running.
Any ideas?
read this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=3274
most likely, your wallaby bootloader is not 5.15. Anything above 5.15 won't work. I could downgrade from 5.17 and 5.22, but not from 6.22
still awaiting for some help to down grade 6.22. Nobody seems to care. THis forum has become "too" big that it is not as effective as before ...
People tend to just "shout" and ask before digging deep enough...

I'm in the same situation - I have v6.22 on T-Mobile 4.01.00ENG and can't do anything, even with an SD card!
Even the BootLoader downgrade tool with XDATools doesn't work.
Any help with this would be appreciated by many other users in the same situation.
The downgrade batch file in XDA-Tools doesn't work for a lot of people (didn't work for me either). However the wallaby patch should work. Otherwise, use XDARit to downgrade the bootloader using the .nb0 file that comes with the downgrade batch in XDA-Tools.
You write the wallaby patch onto the SD card using XDARit, go into the bootloader and enter diagnostics. Then take the SD card out, write bootloader 5.15 onto the card using the bootloader option in XDARit, and place the SD card back into the device. Then from the patched diagnostics screen select Restore SD and it will recognize a bootloader update. I'd recommend saving your original bootloader from the diagnostics first, but that wouldn't work for me for some reason.
i had a 5.17 boot loader that i downgraded to 5.15 via OS image tools, i also downloaded a rom file from the Kitchen & wrote it on SD but i still can't load from SD & i only get the test phase thing

Try using XDRit instead of XDA-Tools (use the older version of XDRit instead of the newer version). I'm not sure what you mean by "test phase", but maybe your bootloader screwed over during the update? If so you may need to rectify that first, but that's definately beyond me. If you burn the image correctly onto the card it should pick up automatically as soon as you enter the bootloader with 5.15. If you don't burn it correctly then it won't be picked up.
I'm just throwing in my 2c because I've made all this stuff work with a 5.15 downgrade. There's a possibility the thing simply doesn't like your card too, so try a different 64MB SD.
well i do have a 256 mb card & as far as i can tell the downgrade worked fine, now to use the xdarit files to i need to have the SD reader or i can do it the same way i do in XDAtools which is directly into the card through Active Sync
Hi guys and gals,
How could I explain my problem...
Let's give it a try!
I have a PDA model Orange SPV1500 (the same machine also comes as Alpine, Qtek 2020i, XDA2i, etc).
Anyway, I decided to upgrade the ROM to get the latest one and to have it in Spanish, as it is my native language...
Apparently, the only way to do this is using a memory card, so I did in the following way:
I used:
The PDA (obviously)
Sd card 256 mb
The actual infor in spanish of how to do it:
http://www.pcdemano.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=13789
Spanish ROM file from Telefonica: Qtek2020iESN.nb1
romupdate.exe
ntrw.exe
CPART.EXE
MERGE.COM
SPLIT.COM
HEX Editor (HEX WorkShop)
------------------------------
1 - Using Romupdate.exe with the PDA connected to the PC in "bootloader" mode, I 'ask it' to make a copy of the ROM on the SD card (d2s 80000000 3F00000)
2 - I then take the card out of the PDA andI insert it in my card reader. Using CPART.EXE I copy the file in the HD (i.e.: ntrw read ROM.nb1 L
3 - I extract the 3 programs inside the rom file using SPLIT.EXE (split ROM.nb1)
4 - I open one of the 3 files extracted with the hex editor (HEADER.NB1) as well as the updated 'telefonica' ROM I have (Qtek2020iESN.nb1). I put the header from my rom into the telefonica one.
5 - I merge together my new Spanish ROM with the header file I extracted from my PDA with SPLIT.COM (header.nb1 + ext.img + trailer.nb1---->NEWROM.nb1)
6 - I write the new file to the SD card (ntrw write newrom.nb1 L
7 - I insert the SD card into the PDA, put it in "bootloader" mode and follow the on-screen instructions: I press the power button to start the transfer process of the new ROM to the PDA.
8 - It shows an error!!, but it seems to have finished...
9 - I restart it and...
NOTHING!
DEAD!!!
I never saw it move anymore!!
---------------------------------------------
After some research, I think I may have made a mistake when copying/pasting the ROMS
I have compared their sizes and they are 36 bytes different!
- ROM.NB1: 244 MB (255.852.544 bytes)
- NEWROM.NB1:243 MB (255.852.508 bytes)
Does anybody know if they actually have to have the exact same size??
Now I can't (anybody knows how?!) put the PDA back in bootloader more, so I can not put the old ROM back in...
The only way in wchi I manage to get any sign of life is to plug it to the pc or charger and the red charging LED lights up!
There actually seems to be a lot of power consumption! After 6 hours of inserting a full battery, it goes down to 50% (I used another PDA to check it!)
Is there any way to make the PDA go to bootloader mode?! Serial or, anything?!?!
Any suggestions, PLEASE!?!
Does you screen display anything?
Did you keep your original back-up of your ROM (ie. what you flashed to your SD card)?

I don't see anything on the screen, ANYTHING.
And yes, i keep my original ROM in the SD card and the hard disk
Thanks for your reply,
Mino
Try....
Insert your SD Card and perform a "hard reset". Does this give you the option to "reflash your ROM' with the ROM Image on your SD card?

This will never give u any options.
You need to put it in bootloader mode(engg mode) and then do a SD card ROM image flashing
kdskamal,
Thanks for the tip. You're right. I haven't done this for a while. I realized my mistake re-reading some posts at www.buzzdev.net.
Mino,
Eject your SD card with your original rom files.
Put your device in bootloader mode by pressing Power button + D-pad simultaneously +reset button with the stylus for 3 seconds
Once you see "Serial 1.XX", insert your SD card with your original ROM image.
You should be able to reflash it at that point.
Justin
That's the question!
I can't put the PDA in bootloader mode! I push power button, etc and the screen continues in black, nothing!
The only solution is to replace the electronic card, therefore you must send it in assistance. About 115€! :?
Hi All. Thought I would post this bit of info as I couldn't find it anywhere. I just managed to do a ROM Re-Flash on a SEDNA via the SD Card.
You need to FAT32 Format an SD Card, then copy on the relevant RUU_Signed.nbh file.
This needs renaming to SEDNIMG.nbh
Enter Bootloader mode on the device by holding the POWER button, the OK button (the one on the side under the thumbwheel) and pressing the reset with the stylus.
Release the reset (stylus) and continue to hold the buttons and hey presto you should be in bootloader.
I will not be held responsible if you brick your device though. Try at your own peril
Don't know how to put it on the WIKI, but if anyone knows - feel free.
I should mention - I used the SD Slot on the top of the device - not the side.
thanks
cheers again .. it sure did work for me .......
I'm looking to put android on my HD2 but I got a simple question.
If I install a NAND Android on my phone and I don't like it or encounter some problems can I get windows back with a hard reset or does that option get lost when I put Android on?
I got the tip to "You simply put the stock rom you want on your SD card, rename it to leoimg.nbh and then go into bootloader by holding Volume down while powering on."
I have tried to find info about this, can anyone point me in the direction where there is a guide/tutorial on how to do this it it would be very appreciated.
Thanks for your help!
No, a hard reset won't do the trick, you will need to reflash a winmo rom to get it back, as installing a NAND rom (even magldr) removes winmo.
You can find info here
Flashing Via MicroSD Card
NOTE (PLEASE READ): If you flash a Stock Rom via microSD Card then it will overwrite your HardSPL with a stock SPL included in the nbh file. This does not apply to custom roms as they do not include an SPL. BE CAREFUL!!
1. Make sure your microSD is Formatted to fat32 (you dont have to delete all files but it is safer if you do)
2. Download your prefered Rom from the LEO Rom Develpoment Page and unzip/unrar it to your PC
3. Goto the Roms Folder and rename the ********.nbh file to LEOIMG.nbh
4. Copy the LEOIMG.nbh file to the root of your MicroSD Card
5. Plug the MicroSD Card into the phone
6. Reset the device while pressing the volume down button to enter the BootLoader screen, you will first see a tri-color screen with the phone and SPL Information at the top
7. Follow the On Screen instructions to start the update
8. After flash has completed, press the reset button with the stylus to reset the device.

trying to get android
seriously, did you look about here at all?
i can assure you its not impossible to do
i did a very quick search and the first thread i came appon had this on its second post
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=11000548&postcount=2
At least remember to thank everyone!?
getting your SD card back is a bit harder, you will need to place it in a SD card holder and format it on your PC or in a digital camera, again this is also available on here if you search for it.
Hopefully you either backed up your old card's info, or better yet got a new sd card altogether to use with wp7 on your HD2... I used a Patriot 16gb class4 which worked perfectly well. Until wp7 needed an update in Zune then threw the phone into a boot loop, that's when I restarted the phone in boot loader and reflashed wm 6.5. Now we are as good as new...
If your card is toasted then get a new one (format to fat32) and reflash. I had no problems getting back to the old rom..
Check if it is working...

Sounds like you need task29. Follow the Leo link in my signature and use task29 to erase everything to bring your phone back to nothing in memory and ROM. You should then be able to follow regular Leo flashing procedures.
BTW...you should always run task29 before flashing a new ROM whether it's WM or WP7. This little tool makes life simpler because it formats your phone's memory to a pristine state without any leftover artifacts from a previous flash. Most issues after flashing a new ROM are due to leftover artifacts from the previous flash that were not written over by the new ROM.
And you really shouldn't have to take the SD card out of the phone that was used for WP7. Just format it after flashing back to WM6.5 from inside WM SD utilities for formatting your SD card.
