New to the xda2

i got an xda2 yestrdya, and i uninstalled the o2 active crap, but now when i go into programs i have an icon thats syas "active" underneath it and when i click it it comes up with something about filename, how can i get rid of that icon?
can you give me some links to some good freeware sites?

ok had 70 odd views and no reply? someone must know? it wont take long come on people, we all gotta start somehwere

Start your "File Explorer", open Windows -> Start Menu -> Programs folder, find your "active" file and delete it!

Switch between GPRS and UMTS?

Usually I only need Agile messenger running as far as my need for data services goes. I find GPRS to be just fine for this but my device always connects to UMTS which kills my battery.
Is there a program out there that will allow me to easily switch between the data services? I thought I remembered seeing something like this but have searched to no avail.

Yeah, I also saw this kind of app that allows you to switch it right from the today screen, but don`t know actually where I saw it..
I am also looking for this app..

Ahh thanks. Guess I'm not so clear on the acronyms. That thread says WCDMA and GSM. Didn't realize that it the same as we are asking about.

I use SOTI pocket controller, it shows an exact replica of your tytn screen displayed (via Activesync) on your PC screen. I can do a copy and paste with that.

1. on what port will igo 2008 work with my ipaq?
2. where is the QUICK GPS Icon ? -> can I activate it from the registry ?
3. How do I turn OFF the annoying T9 ? -> or, how can I set it for my language : Romanian ?
4. where can I acces the SIM contacs ? the phone part of this iPAQ is totally annoying me for now ...

for those who don’t like to switch between there language and tx9 and prefer to switch between there language and English (abc) you can disable the priority of the tx9 by installing this cab

what abouit igo 2008. r u using it ? mine still cannot detect satelites

I'm sorry to say we don’t have igo 8 yet
any way I cannot say I have tried it myself
but from what I have heard if you go to your device program file/igo 8 you will find a sys.txt
add these lines to what you already have there in the txt using your home pc then the program will work
pleas note that you need to have one line blank before adding
[gps]
port=6
baud=57600
set_messages=0
pleas edit the text and report
good luck

ok I will do that.
tried to set them from the program itself and its actinv strange.
also I tried to set them from the GPS aplication that come within setting and also noluck
I will try this and report.
BTW, where u from ? I think Israel right ? - u using yahoo messenger?

now when I will have the software I'm shore to know how to make it work

hmm I managed to start it jsut 2 times (igo2008) -> i mean the gps signal
from that time on, it stopped detectig sattelites
it's so stupid. I will try for a change with igo2006 and keep u updated.
are there any twaks that I can make to work better with my GPS/ sattelites as I don;'t have quick gps ?
can I get quick gps and install/configure from a another WM6 device ? (a friend has here a HTC touch cruise, everything works fine for him with quick gps+igo2008 )
and, can I make registry tweaking or smf, so that everytime I write sms, I automaticlly have : ABC instead of T9 ?

if i-go 8 has problems with identifying the gps you didn't follow my instructions correctly

still nothig. I start to think that the problem is the space that I have outside the office. maybe its causing not to find the sattelites.

Strange update problem

All of the sudden my Xperia cannot update:
1. Weather on SE Panels
2. Currencies on MSS Converter (the app saying there's no internet connection available, though there's one running!)
Looks like something stops connecting/using the connection although there's one!
Just to add - X1 perfectly works with all the browsers, email etc.
And SPB weather too...
Any help?

not sure what the problem is, but do you use any R3A beta stuff??
And did you try to soft reset your device and check it again?

The problem is that when I want to update SE panel, what always make it display a current weather icon,
and I press "update" - nothing happens.
The icon is "dead" and shows no temperature.
And MSS Concverter when I choose to update online currencies
or check for updates, it says "no internet connection", however I'm online!.
So looks like my X1 is blocking it??
Well I did softreset my X1.
I don't use any R3 or other beta things,
as well as I don't touch any custom roms.
Maybe somebody?

Did anybody encounter such problems with updating like I mentioned?

Absolutely brilliant, works great, only problem being the menu button, which is currently a "kill" button! anyone got a fix for this? or even disable to prevent pressing by mistake.

it keeps tellin me it needs a program to start..

You obviously got the program installed and running since you know that it's only working with wifi ...
To make it work with 3G do as told in the article - change the entry in the registration database and 3G will be working (after soft reset)

Whats the problem?
If you don't like it, don't install it. I didn't buy the TP2 because I solely want to use it to write emails/spreadsheets.
I bought it because it is a kickass device with lots of power and features and a lot of "wow" factor.
If anything this is a bonus to the TP2 as it means it's a business phone WITH cool stuff too.

new to editing registries, but I can't find the HKCU folder anywhere... Where is it? This is an AWESOME program, but I wanna use it outside the house
