Hi guys.
I did some research on forum and tried different styles to get my qwerty keyaboard have right matching.
I have tried registry editing, softwares and all, but still I can't map my nordic keyboard.
Help would be appriciated.
I have the swedish/finnish TYTN with blue ÅÄÖ characters on the hw keyboard.
I use schap's wm6 rom and set the keymap for the hw keybord using the included "advanced config" application.
For the on-screen keyboard I use an app called "ePocket Solutions ASA Skandnavia Tastatur" to get the layout with ÅÄÖ etc.

Does anybody have the registry entry at HKCU/Software/Microsoft/Terminal Server Client/ for the Keyboard layout for a QWERTZ keyboard from the UK? I have an english ROM on a Mini S and need the original registry key so the keyboard is mapped properly.....
Also looking for this!
I have the same issue, and am also on the lookout for a solution. Will let you know if I find anything. And I know there are several others who are in the same situation too...!

Hello,
I would like to know whether it was possible to change the hardware keyboard QWERTY to QWERTZ ?
Do you know a website for detached parts for the HTC Shift ?
I'am the english version of the HTC Shift
Thank you very much.
Same problem here, any ideas?
if you want to change the keyboard layout you find here some registry hacks.
(if you use a english rom with german hardware keyboard layout)
or you want to buy a new hardware keyboard with german letters? maybe I have a contact to HTC in germany where I can order a new german or Swiss Keyboard..
I have already searched for registry tweaks, but none of these works for HTC Shift hardware keyboard.
Do you try that?

Yes, but it does not work (on HTC official ROM).
hmm.. do you try with search function on registry editor (you can use the free total commander registry editor) to search for your at the moment installed language code (maybe 409??) and change all entrys that you found to 407?, then you do a soft reset..
same here, i am on a wizard. tried everything. its only new rom's!
The semi-qwerty keyboard cab file is available if you google it. However after installing it, I realize the accent key on my physical keyboard does not work anymore.
This is the answer I got on the other forum:
can't be help, because the key actions are defined according to the keyboard layout, and the default layout which includes the accent key is being overwritten by the cab file. You probably can revert back to stock keyboard layout and the semi-qwerty/full-qwerty/phonepad SIP, but you probably will lose the T9 function.
alternatively, use the symbol key to type the accent characters.
Does someone knows how to solve this problem so both Full/Semi Qwerty and physical keyboard work together.. especially cause i'm using Croatian letters čćšđž
THX
I just realized I have the same problem. Maybe someone can help us have both accent letters and Touch HD virtual keyboard...
Is this only registry problem or maybe have to change some dll? anybody?
Up! Maybe someone has an idea.
nothing to do?
blackstone keyboard is the best but we wan't to resolve the accent issue...please help!!
nothing?
You could try this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=479464
Doesn't mess with the àü key.
Ok, I tried that keyboard, but it doesn't restore the accent key functionality. Maybe after a hard reset, but I wanted to avoid it.
Same problem here. Blackstone keyboard does my "au" hardware key unuseful - it dos not work.
Also T9 does not work with hardware keyboard.
I think HR is the only way for me - and you at this moment
Would SPB Keyboard 4.1 work without messing up the accent button? Is it any good?
I have the same problem, but with the Touch Diamond 2 keybord. It's really annoying
I had to lose all my data to update the firmware. After that I tried the SPB Keyboard and it's really good. It has layouts for a lot of languages and the accent key works.
ive used version 1 of this and it did not mess with my keyboard. this is the new version that just came out. i havent tried it because version 1 is working good enough for me.

Dear all:
I have been able to convert my German X2 successfully into Dutch/Belgian language using the information contained in another thread.
However, I am now faced with Dutch/Belgian language, with a corresponding AZERTY keyboard layout.
The trouble is that the German hardware QWERZU keyboard is now also typing in AZERTY layout and the keys do not correspond.
Question: how can one change the hardware keyboard layout in such a way that it reverts back to the German QWERZU so that I can at least see what I type?
I have searched all over this forum and elsewhere on the net, but found no working solutions so far. The solutions that were offered, do not seem to work.
Has anybody managed in doing so succesfully? If so, I would greatly appreciate urgent feedback as this is really annoying right now. Thank you so much.

you should use the AE Keyboard Mapper to replace the hardware keyboard layout, for AE Keyboard Mapper intentionally a specially designed key mapping almost all external or built-in hardware keyboard or keypad is connected to a Windows Mobile device. You can use it for "localizing" keyboards (if there is no support from the OEM keyboard driver on your language) or just for the mapping of some keys (like the conversion from AZERTY to QUERTY, the addition function by disabling the Ctrl key or application key binding).
my advice, you just visit his WebSite to get more information and also download it ---> http://ae.inc.ru/aekmap.php
Thanks for the hint. Downloaded and tried it but somehow I cannot choose any other layout than Russian. Even if I type in "German" instead of English, nothing happens.
I also tried out hints pertaining to the X1 (changing the registry etc) but these do not work either as the relevant registry lines do not appear. I guess there must be a difference between X1 and X2 in this respect.
All very disappointing I should say.
Hi, i have LG Quantum with Mango. And I need to use not only English keyboard layouts(English, Russian etc). Using hardware keyboard was a prior goal in my phone. I try many manipulation with configuration but find out that only English and German keyboard layout can be switched on hardware keyboard. On-screen keyboard work perfect. But even when i'm on software keyboard switch to Russian, and than open hardware keyboard its automatically switch to English layout. May be there are any option to edit registry or some DLL's to use other layouts in hardware???
Thanks
