Please Help with Toggle Phone Radio, No Network - 8125, K-JAM, P4300, MDA Vario General

Hi. I have been trying various programs such as PocketZenPhone (version 4.5.1), Tweakster with VJVolubilis, and PPC Profiles to create scheduled phone profiles on my 8125. With each program, I have run into the same problem. When the program toggles the phone radio back on from flight mode, it will not connect to the AT&T network. If I use the CommManager or the tray icon available from BatteryStatus, toggling the phone radio will result in connection with the network.
I'm thinking this might be a Wizard issue or a WM5 issue. Is there something I can do to help these programs connect to the network automatically rather than just turning on the phone radio (ie a registry hack that would automatically connect to the network when the phone radio is on)? Thanks.

I too have been having inconsistent results with vjvolubilis. I have written a mortscript to toggle between GSM and AUTO and incorporated vjvolubilis for radioon/radiooff. Sometimes the network does not "engage" and have to manually cycle the radio to get "back on".
Have you found a solution?

Vijay Volubilis not working on prophet :-(

Has anybody found a way to toggle wifi off/on with one click, instead of going through comm manager? Vijay' volubilis responds that "no compatible wifi found" when executed on my prophet.
Anyone? Or Vijay himself maybe shedding some light on this issue?
VJVolubilis's wifi feature has only been tested on the Universal, because that's the hardware I have. The Wizard wifi control is not perfect, because I don't have one.
I'm slowly thinking about how to try to implement a more generic wifi control, but unfortunately this is not really an OS feature, it's OEM specific, so it's something I'm still investigating. I haven't thought about the Prophet before. Let me check it out...

If you need any info (registry or what-not), let me know.
Thanks for looking into this.
vjvolubilis can be used for turning on/off wifi on prophet..
but there is one additional step to make it work..
ie after every soft reset, u need to use comm manager to turn on/off wifi 1 time. after which , u can use vjvolubilis to control it..
this issue is the same when u are using phone alarm with skins that can allow one touch wifi on/off... ie comm manager must activate it for at least once before it will respond to oneclick controls from either vjvolubilis or phonealarm..
I own a dopod818 [ singapore's version of prophet ]
Hey, I didn't know it (kind of) works on the Prophet... so it uses the same architecture as the Wizard I guess.
I'll try to think about Wifi control a little more as soon as I get a bit of time.

Not quite. Yes, true, I realized now that once Comm manager is employed once, Vijay's app CAN turn wifi on. But it does not turn it off, if you press wifi toggle again...
At least on my Qtek S200 with latest Dopod rom.
solved
Found a solution for this issue
Just put a shortcut to \Windows\WiFiInit.exe into your startup folder and enjoy the quickly activating wi-fi! After a soft reset this vill activate wlan for a second (green led will flash once and a wi-fi icon will appear on a place of network icon — don't worry).
But, as krale said, there is another little bug with VjVolubilis: you have to create both -wifion and -wifioff shortcuts to control wifi on Prophet because -wifitoggle shortcut does not turn off the wi-fi, it just can activate it.
When launched with -status parameter, it says that Wisard wi-fi is activated.

Want IE to use WiFi, not GPRS, like Skype does!

Hello all. I have a Cingular 8525 (WM5) that I have successfully setup to use my home WiFi connection. Skype works great. My signal strength is good. In the "Network Cards" applet, it shows my WiFi network (it's the only one listed) with four bars and a "Connected" status. Everything seems fine.
When I try to use IE, though, it always tries to use GPRS to connect! Under Connections->Advanced->Select Networks, I have chosen "My Work Network" for both options. It still tries to use GPRS!
I don't even have a SIM installed, so I have no phone service whatsoever. So why in the blazes is it trying to use it instead of WiFi?
Anybody got any ideas?
Edit:
Well, I got it to work by toggling flight mode on and then back off again. Then, I had to turn WiFi back on again (bringing the phone out of flight mode doesn't re-enable WiFi). After I did that, though, IE used my wireless connection. Go figure.
I wish I knew the real reason, though. Someday, I'm going to install a SIM in this thing and I want to make sure it's not using that over my home wireless connection. Guess I'll have to look into those GPRS hacks I keep reading about.
maybe not much help but I had the same problem recently. I turned the phone to 'off' (even though it had no sim in it) and left it - it resolved itself and it working fine!
Thanks Frank. Glad I'm not the only one.
As a sidenote, I checked the registry settings (hack) for GPRS and there were two ISP's listed: one called My ISP and another called Cingular ISP (or something to that effect). In both cases, they were already set to 0 (off), so I would think they should have already been disabled.
GPRS lock
Hey guys I found a program called NOData these program allows you to disable the gprs so you dont suffer the conectio while you're using wi-fi and loose signal strenght works great and really easy to use.
Cheers
Same Problem
I have a T-mobile MDA and it has the same problem. I can fix it by going to the communication manager, turning off "data connection", and then toggling the wifi off and then back on. That always seems to fix it. Also, just going to flight mode does the same thing.
my X01HT always connect to gprs..i dont know how to turn off it..i`ll try MoDaCo_NoData..
gprs lock

Need Help with Phone Radio Toggling and No Network Connection

Not the smoothest meathod, or most practical depending on where you are, but how about wi-fi? Either a card, or better yet built in. I remember reading that some devices actually turn the phone radio off when utilizing wi-fi, but it can be done manually easily!!!
I don't utilize my wifi often. When I do, the wifi doesn't affect the phone radio. I'm looking for automated phone setting based on time to shut down the phone radio and bluetooth at night while keeping my phone on standby then to go back to previous setting in the morning.
I'm guessing this is more of a Wizard issue since others who have used the program haven't had the same problem. The question is why toggling the phone radio would result in no network connection while using the CommManager that came with the phone would result in network connection.
Another problem I came up with is now my phone will not give an audible ring. When I set my phone at level 4 for the ringer, it sets back to zero when someone calls. I think it is the setting I left it in when I uninstalled the program. I'm not sure.
Any thoughts or help? Thanks.
Update to the second problem that I mentioned. I reinstalled PPC Profiles Pro and reset my phone setttings and it solved the problem. Unfortunately, I still have the phone radio toggling problem.

Auto switch 3G/Wifi

G'day all,
This should be an easy question, allthough I'll be buggered if I can find any info on it...
Simply, I want my 3G connection (Ultimate 8502 - WM6.1) to turn off when I turn on the WIFI, and then auto turn on when WIFI is not active.
Any help/suggestions would be most appreciated.
Thanks in advance!
-Mike
I think it's impossible on Windows Mobile 6.1 without the help of some sort of software to do the 3G/WiFi switch ...
It is doable with MortScript. Get it and read the documentation and you should be able to make a script that has to be in the Startup folder of Windows, that can monitor the registry settings of these 2 functions and switch them accordingly. Just read the manual for Mortscript.
If you don't want to code with Mortscript you can try gProfile, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=477919
just set up a profile with WiFi on and 3g off and vice versa. I use it and it works well, a bit slow when switching 3g/gsm but that's probably the phone's fault.

Wireless starts automatically? (and: weather not updating)

I switch wireless OFF, some time later, it all of a sudden is ON
I'm using Elegancia ROM now, but have had it before on Miri ROM as well (same base).
I used task manager to debug, since I suspected ActiveSync to be responsible which I have set to sync every 10 min, but no luck.
(!) possibly related: weather for "my location" only wants to update when I'm at home and connected to my wireless network. Update is not working when I'm at work and using Edge GSM. Again, I've had this before as well, and problem disappeared automatically since I flash a new ROM every few days Any ideas? It's driving me nuts! I can't have Leo win over me
This is a bug, that happens if you use a third party tool to turn off WLAN.
If you use the comm-manager, it won't come back.
It's related to activesync in following situation:
Third party tool disables WLAN, while activesync (especially direct push) and gsm/umts data-connection is running.
-> entering no coverage of data-connections or roaming situation will trigger WLAN on.
There is NO tool on the market, that will turn off WLAN like the comm-manager does. Even not G-profile.
I was thinking of running comm-manager with a command line switch to toggle wlan, but I don't think there are such switches.
Well, I think we'll have to live with this (this is a really old bug)
