is there anyway to keep the phone in landscape, permenantly (even when I close the keyboard?)
i'd like to know about this aswell for the wizard.
I've never tried it personally, but I saw this:
Start > Settings > System tab > Screen
then choose Landscape
Does this help?
thanks for the reply.
that only works until the keyboard is flipped out again!
there must be a way to stop the OS from flipping when it hears that command.
Hi!
Sorry to dig up a post - i thought I'd rather dig this up, than make a new post .. so that no one has to repeat themselves
ERmm - yes, is there some sort of mod, or way to make your TyTN stay in Landscape mode permanently?
Yes, I go to the system settings and change the Screen rotation to landscape, and it stays that way .. and i slide the keyboard out and it stays that way as well .. but as soon as i slide the keyboard in, the damned thing decides to get back into portrait .. sigh .. anyhelp?

Yeah, I've made a hack for this. I'll release it shortly.

Hey V, can you PM or IM me when you get a chance. Thanks
i launcher allows you to rotate screen pemanantly along with the other thousands of things it does!!
futuresbright: does ilauncher maintain the orientation when you open and close the keyboard?
V
you can edit the registy just serch you reg for landscape and portrat copy the landscape ones and past them over the portrat one but why would you want to do this?
This is a good option to have, I think it will be very useful for people who use the keyboard a lot.
ill try and find the exact keys and values for you to change but if you want to change back youl have to edit the reg or hard reset
sorry posted reply away from device last night.forget what I said about ilauncher it does revert back to portrait once keyboard is opened and closed.sorry.
n00b question:
How does one regedit on a PPC?!?!
Thanks for the answers guys! I just prefer the landscape orientation, and find it a pain in the arse that it reverts back to portrait when i open and close the keyboard.

I needed this feature also on my Universal. I am using it only as car navigation. So I used a magnet which I glued on the back of the car holder (brodit) thus everytime I put the Universal in the cradle (slide it in from the side) the screen automatically rotates to landscape.
i've been looking at the registry and am unable to find what to change.
I have a solution to this, but am working on a more elegant solution. I didn't look for a way through the registry.
Did javaoverride2003's suggestion above work?
V
couldn't try javaoveride's suggestion - didn't know what keys and such to play with .. hum ..

Hi Vijay, - Any news on this app to stop the autorotation? Much appreciated.
Yes, VJUzumaki is pretty much finished in its current form, but I didn't release yet because I was curious if the registry editing method mentioned worked, in which case there's no need for it.
If the registry method doesn't work, I'll release it.

i was wondering, if anybody has done that. i want my Universal, to startUp in Landscape mode and not in Portrait mode. my car holder holds the Universal in Landscape Mode, so it would be nice if the device would startup in landscape mode as well does anybody know how to do that ?? searched the forums, also tried to find any registry value for that, but no luck (or no knowledge) thank you in advance
Hi all. I've read and read the different posts... and tried installing GSen, which did change a lot of applications to landscape however did not change the keyboard for texting into landscape mode. I'd like to have the querty keyboard in landscape mode for easier entry. Has anyone been successful making this happen?
Also, any reg edits or suggestions on how to disable the repeat function which is greyed out for reminders alert tones? I'd like it to alert once, and not remind... which it even does during a phone call!!

Apparantly my program has worked for many people and they have reported that it has flipped the keyboard into landscape mode, so you may want to try it. I odn't have the other keyboards to test with, so you'll have to experiment.
Have a looksie here...

Thank you.... I tried it and it didn't work.
Worked for me, not only with texting, but with IM apps aswell. I love GSen, why they didn't build it into the ROM from the beginning is mind boggling.
Cheers,
scruffy_joe
wish someone can get it to work with CDMA.

I also tried that and it didn't work.
I even created a rule based on the Window ID of the SMS application built into WM. Still no go!
I researched this previously and found a fix, but I recently hard reset my device and forgot how to fix. After a page has loaded in opera, if I rotate the device, it will rotate, return to portrait mode, and then minimize. Opera is still in in the task manager and I can return to it, still in portrait mode. The previous fix was a registry edit that had something to do with removing a title bar or something.
If I have missed the thread please let me know.
Thanks in advance,

the registry fix that you're referring to basically shows the clock on the title bar. A minor nuisance is that it blocks the battery status. If someone can find a fix for this (that doesnt require a clock blocking the battery status), that'll be awesome!
I agree, that would be pretty awesome, but the fix I am referring to would fix the problem of Opera closing when rotated into landscape mode.

Download from swtos. [ Volume Control Diamond (reboot after installation) ]
You guys are the best. Thanks for the help
I have had my Tmobile HD2 for a week now and am loving it. However, am I crazy? I could have sworn that I was able to rotate to landscape in the email application. I just got done installing CHTE Editor and Cookie's Home Tab. They work like a dream. But noticed today that i can no longer landscape in email. I have searched the forums and the settings and can't find an answer. Landscape works in everything else it is supposed to.
Is it gone for good?
First Winmo phone so sorry if I am missing something simple.
install BSB Tweaks or one of the other countless programs out there that let you add rotation to programs (or do it yourself via registry tweak)
That did it.
Thanks. That worked just fine.
