HTC Wizard FTP site

The Wizard part of the xda-developers FTP has only recently been structured (mdaiiiuser thanks for that).
I have taken the task to keep it structured.
If you want to down- or upload something from/to the FTP you might want to check this wiki page
Please upload Wizard stuff to the 'HTC Wizard' folder in the upload FTP root (as layed out in the wiki). After you uploaded something it stays in the upload section until I or another moderator moves it to the 'safe haven' (there is NO service level on this :wink: ): The Wizard folder structure in the FTP root
IF you uploaded something PLEASE check back once in a while whether your file(s) are mved to the 'safe haven' or not. IF it has THEN please update your links to it.
Meanwhile: IF you have any remarks, advice or complaints on the Wizard FTP, please PM me.

i noted that your ROM is not on the FTP site
i use t-mobile vario and had to flash it with Qtek 2.17 rom
who did u get the t-mobile 2.8?
is it WWE?

My rom the the only available 2.08 WWE ROM: test version from QTek.
If you are on it I would stick with 2.17 or above

I hv done the wizard upgrades as per the operators and the ROM versions till date.Only thread part is reamaining, which I shall complete by toimorrow.pls bear till the time...in the mean time one ca visit wiki and check wizard for recent changes

I believe my 8125 came stock with a cingular rom that is not in the ftp. any way i can get this rom back? i believe its older than the 1.8.11.1. Im also in US

User and pass are xda (small letters)

If you are trying to access this link ftp://xda:[email protected]/ through Opera it won't work. I don't know why, I've tried it on 4 different PCs that have Opera installed and it won't work. Either use an actual FTP client (FileZilla is a good free one) or use Internet Explorer or Firefox to access it instead.

Thank You All for your help, especially to Keitaro. So, the culprit is the Opera Browser. I have managed to get in via IE. Thanks again.

MSN Messanger

Hello All,
Would like to know if MSN Mobile Messenger is available on any ROM image?
I have a Orange SPV M3100 and it's not loaded on the device. I have to pay £10 to install it.

I also had a orange rom without messenger; you can get rid of this with any other ROM like cingular or dopod for instance. Please note that with a cingular rom with a bootloader > than 1.04 you will not be able to use another rom that do not match your cid in the futur

The advice on that link doesn't work - the messenger files have actually been removed from the device.
I asked this exact same question - whether the Cingular ROM has Messenger on it, but have yet to get a reply...

MSN Messenger
I have a HTC TyTN and it comes with Messenger loaded as well as Hotmail. I think the network locked devices have Messenger removed to force you to use the system they impose on their consumers.

I have a dutch Vario II and it had messenger installed. I can upload instmsgr.exe if you want, bit i dont know if it also needs other files or registry entries to work...

I think they are all in the "\Windows" folder.

off topic a bit...but ya think if I deleted all of those files and cleaned the registry my tytn would work fine? I want to remove messenger...just use IM+

I am pretty sure the Aussie Jasjam's also have messenger installed.

But infact I've already read that... and in fact I've written a post on this forum to the original article on coolsmartphone.
The reason why we're talking about it again is because I want to get the NEWEST version of MSN Messenger rather than this crappy Mess 2003 upgrade.
Please don't assume that I can't search the forums, it's really annoying to be lectured...

mmm_ok: I don't use mesenger and didn't even know there are different versions available, i was just trying to help by pointing out to what's on the wiki... sorry for my confusion.

KPN (dutch) operator gprs settings....

Hi, I searched and found nothing, read the wiki and managed to unlock mu former T-mobile TyTN upgraded to WM6 and managed to get the radio ROM upgraded ...so I can read
My (large account) employer uses KPN as carrier and my number has gprs switched on, when I set the GPRS settings to those I can find on the internet I get a message like "the network operator terminated the connection" ...as my employers help desk is next to useless I am trying here to get some guidance in what direction i have to steer the helpdesk people....
ANyone who can please help with KPN GPRS settings for WM6

settings => connections => new modem connection => give it a name => access point name: internet => no login name or password => finish.
That should be all you need to get online.

thanks will try, sofar no luck with the settings from the first reply......seems that my employer has blocked connnectivity although 1200 tells me gprs should be switched on and I am using those settings.
Employers support is in fact as uselss as an 13th teat on a sow, "we can not help you as this is an non company phone, active sync 4.5 is not scripted and we can not install it" ...as if no newer pda ever will be used

Cab installs exactly the same setting as i posted
btw, after adding settings it's best to shut down and restart device. (w/o it i couldn't get a proper connection on mine)

With new settings, you must always restart your device...

"the answering modem has disconnected"is the message I keep getting......
I'll await the switch to Vodafone .......

the funny thing is that i also get this message when I convert back to T-mobile and the appropriate settings.
The 3G Icon comes up immediately but once I try to connect to the net I get "the answering modem has disconnected"......could it be a radio ROM issue???
Thanks for the wizard tool BTW, works like a charm in recognizing the network and adjusting the settings
same behaviour also occurs with radio ROM 1.41, so I assume there will be some other problem.
Will investigate later with the T mobile sim as everything worked flawlessly in the original setup

ROM request for Wing

Microsoft Office Mobile 6.1 was just released. Available here:

So could somebody please build a ROM with these newer versions included instead of the older ones? Also, leave out Acrobat Reader, integrate TomTom 6 (6.030 8320) instead, and set page pool size to 6 MB.

Well, for us wing users, using the new Full version of touch it, its required to over write anyways, so theres no problem for us.
Though perhaps PDAVIET and such will start including this in their ROMS

its because the office 2007 package dosnt work with the wing, so I had to put back default office in the rom, but it can be updatet with this, thx for upping it, ill post link in my rom thread.

Lol, we're all right here..
For Wings, the touchIT's (new full version) of office doesnt work off the bat, you have to reinstall the included office package on the TouchIT thread. So, for us wing users, we will just use this link instead of a previous ripped office cab.
This cab, for any other device on any other OS should work just fine.

Nah, I'm flying the original T-Mo ROM, with the only change the pool size.

Requesting T-Mobile HD2 Software Upgrade

I was wondering if somebody could please upload the official t-mobile hd2 rom (the one that was linked to a url to htc). I know theres somebody else who got it from the chinese site but i don't want to use that one cause then i would have to unlock my phone. So if somebody has it could you upload it Please and Thank You If you can't do it for legitamite reasons i understand and i will close this thread

theyre already uploaded, just search for them in the rom section, im pretty sure theyre around the top of the first page, but be careful. flashin stock roms makes u lose your flash and iono if you can get it back. if you want to keep that ability just flash using hspl's stock rom

xmo has uploaded all the tmous stock roms in this thread read through it to get a better idea.

I take no responsibility for this software, install at your own risk. I have installed it myself successfully and so far its much faster then the original stock rom it shipped with.

1. Download the new software to your PC.
2. Ensure ActiveSync 4.5 for computers using Windows XP or earlier or use Windows Mobile Device Center for computers using Vista and Windows 7 is installed on your PC. If you have not installed ActiveSync or Windows Mobile Device Center, you can install it from your Getting Started CD or download it from the Microsoft website.
3. Connect your HTC HD2 to your computer using the USB Sync Cable that came with the phone.
4. Establish a connection. You will know this is complete when the ActiveSync or Windows Mobile Device Center icon in your PC taskbar is lit green and the status is "Connected".
5. Ensure that your T-Mobile HTC HD2 has a battery charge that is greater than 50% (two bars).
6. Remove your MicroSD card from the device if you have one inserted. Do not reinsert the SD card until after the software installation process is complete and the phone is ready to use.
7. Run the software update program you downloaded to your PC and follow the on-screen commands.

While that's nice of you, it's already been stated here in this thread that there's an already-existing thread that has all of the US T-Mobile stock ROMs, both ship and test versions, for download. No need to use your bandwidth if it's already hosted elsewhere.
