I swear I saw Comm Manager in the Programs folder.
Apparently today, it seems to have disappeared.
When I go to Start -> Programs, the Comm Manager icon is missing.
It is also missing when I try to choose it in the HTC today where you can select from 8 icons as short cuts.
Any hints on how I can get it back in the programs folder?
Thanks
Create a shortcut to the exe and put it in windows/start menu/programs to have it back both in the program folder than in the today apps

Hello,
Is there a way to allocate a button for teh comm manager in trinity the same as in the TYTN?
Thanks,
udi
As you know, there are only 3 assignable buttons on the Trinity, B1, B2 and B1 Press/Hold.
To get one of those assigned to Com Manager, you need to create a shortcut to Comm Manager in the Programs file, from where you can use the Button Control Panel to assign the function.
Open a File Manager (if using File Explorer, make sure Options/ Show All Files is selected; even with this however, you can't see file extensions, which makes the process tricky!- better to use Resco or Total Commander) and navigate to My Device/Windows. Look for CommManager.exe and Tap/Hold and select Copy from the context menu that pops up.
Now navigate to Windows/Start Menu/Programs and then Menu/Edit/Paste Shortcut. This will place the shortcut in the Programs folder. You may need to rename it to remove the 'Shortcut to..' prefix, though Resco doesn't prefix it anyway.
From there, go Start/Settings/ Buttons and do the reassignment.
thanks a lot!!
Is there a way to set my (hold) mail button or (hold) voice button to a comm manager button? I tried to set it as a tab in HTC Home but, when I go to add it it doesn't show up under programs? As anyone figured this out. I really like to just use a button to turn on my wifi instead of navigate around in start menu.
Thanks for your time.
my Button 5 is set to Comm manager and it works perfectly, i have it on my list, check again
Yeah, I've looked through and through the list for setting the buttons and I can't find comm mananger? I wonder if there is some way of adding it to the list?
Normally if u add a shortcut to Windows/Start Menu/Programs u should be able to select it
thanks. that sounds like it might work.
How to I add a shortcut to programs though?
if u have a program like Total Commander you can go to \Windows\CommManager.exe
then go to File >>>>>> (A) > Create Shortcut and put the shortcut in \Windows\Start Menu\Programs
Hope that helps, GL

Awesome. Yeah. I used Total Commander. I went and found the .lnk file for comm manager and copied it into the windows folder that had all the other programs in it. Then it worked. I should of thought of this. For some reason I spaced it. Thanks for your help.
In the applications section of HTC Home, I deleted the Comm Manager once upon a time, but now I'd like to add it back. Unfortunately, it's not in the list of programs you can add (probably because it's in "Settings," not "Programs").
Anyone know how to stick it back in? Probably a registry setting?
Wow, never mind, I figured it out.
The program is at \Windows\CommManager.exe, so I made a shortcut to it in \Windows\Start Menu\Programs. Then HTC Home was able to list it for the launcher.
Hey, some time ago i changed some things on my HTC HD and one of those things is my start menu. When i open the start menu i see a list of smaller icons than you see in the standard start menu. In the beginning you only see the 7 programs that you want your start menu to show. But somehow i've changed my start menu which shows the following now:
Agenda
Messages
Contacts
Internet Explorer
Notes
Telephone
-------------
//Recently opened apps
App1
App2
App3
...
-------------
Programs
Settings
Help
The problem is, is that i forgot how i did this... So i was hoping any of you could tell me how i did this.. If i get the chance all also try to add a picture of my menu and the default menu, so you get a better picture of what i mean.

Using a file explorer, you can add or delete new folders to your 'Start Menu' folder. Name them like: Web, Travel, Utilities, System and Media. Copy relevant shortcuts from you 'Programs' folder in your 'Start Menu' folder to each of these new folders. You will need to use a 3rd party file explorer to unhide system files and rom files to see the pre-installed icons to copy them to your folders. These icons are '.ink' shortcuts. Also copy the entire 'Games' folder and 'Office' folder from your 'Programs' folder direct to your 'Start Menu' folder. Finally uncheck all checked boxes in Menus in Settings page. This will allow all 9 folders to show in your Start menu on your home page, where you can access specific apps much quicker. Remember each time you install or remove a program/game, you have to either copy the new 'ink' icon to your category folder or delete it.
You can also use utility apps like HDTweak & Advanced Config to change size of Start Menu
If you go to Start/Settings/System/TouchFLO you also can change Start Menu size

When i go to start > programs i see all the programs is a big mess. How do i arrange these in folders so it looks good. And then i want to make a shortcut to the folders so i can make a shortcut to them in my today plugin. Anyuone can help?
You need to use the File Explorer (or Total Commander) and navigate to \Windows\Start Menu\Programs - Start Menu may have a different name if you have a localized ROM (non-WWE). There you can create new subfolders and move the links into them.
Dunno about the shortcuts for today plugin though.

I have figured it out. I should just "right click" in resco explorer and choose "place in start menu as shortcut" then put the shortcut in my today plugin
EDIT: That didnt work
