Hello, I have a Qtek 9100 and unfortunately I dropped it and scratched the front of the casing up pretty bad. The phone is still in perfect condition and not even a scratch on the back or the screen. I am looking for the front housing. I do not have any scratches on the rear housing, keyboard, or even the battery cover. I have looked on Ebay and the only thing that I have found is for around $100 (US). I do not want to pay that much for something that I can conceivably drop again. So my question is; is there anyone out there that knows where I can get a front housing? I would even buy the total housing to use as a backup but I do not want to spend an arm and a leg for it. I would greatly appreciate any feedback anyone has.
im looking for one myself.. i dropped my imate kjam a numerous amount of time...and the body has been scratched up rpetty bad
if theres a way to get it in canada, ottawa.. id really appreciate to find out..
thnx
How about vinyl sticker to put on top of the scratches? Like those offered by mytego.com?
you can see how it look like from this thread at howardforum

That's my phone in the post by username ToNg
Oh. That's slick the way the background and vinyl work as one.
Hi I have a Cingular 8525 and as usual due to my clumsiness I have drop it twice on the cement. Everything's working fine but being a person with a mild case of obsessive compulsive behavior I am buggin......
Also if you guys are looking for a case for your Hermes you should try to avoid this style. My 8525 was securely in this case and the phone 'flew' out of it when it was knocked on the front side of the case. The phone flew out knocking the battery boor, battery, and the sim right out of the phone. Not good! Also, the case uses a magnet for the flap closure so it goes without saying it is sending my phone into periodic landscape mode whenever I remove the phone from the case.
I have tried ebay for a replacement case and unlike all my other phone nothing is available and I mean nothing. Not even one cheesy knock off is on there for this phone.
Has anyone here looked into getting an OEM housing for the 8525?
Personally I would prefer to keep the phone in a 8525 case versus changing it out for other verients.
Sorry for the long post.....I'm sick in bed with a 103 fever so I figure that I would bug u guys
Thanks.
Derek
Looking for same for TyTN
I need a tytn oem case as well. I dropped and scratched mine. Irony of it is, I've had it for two months, purchased invisible skin two days before I dropped it - idn't get a chance to put it on before i dropped it!
Oh and mine was in a metal case. It rell out of that! So nothing's safe. Gotta put on invi skin!
try this
checkout this site. it has pretty much everything that is available.
you might want to invest in the hard metal case : )

Did you happen to adjust the hinge(simply by bending it inward slightly) before placing your Hermes inside. I have an aluminum case, and I've test dropped it, and nothing happened.
***Please not from the factory, the hinge merely "clips" over/on the other side of the aluminum housing. If you want to make it more stable you have to slightly bend the "lip" that connects to the lower portion of the housing. YMMV. I had to readjust mine once as the first time I had it way too tight, and it was very hard to get my Hermes out of the case. Now it simply closes with an authoritative click, and I know my Hermes is secure.
Anybody find a place to get the housing for an 8525 yet? There is a large (its not that large, but its visible enough to be annoying) gash on the metal bezel running along 3 of the 4 sides of the display of my 8525
im new to the forums, but my 8525 got knocked out of my hand and got pretty messed up. my "t" key has also started to lift off of the pad. i wanted to know if this has happened to anybody and if there is any replacement keyboards for sale also. can i swithc over to the tytn with the proper front keyboard? any help would be amazing.
i just bought a dummy 8525 off of ebay, Im not sure how they are made, but I am going to see if I can switch the housing
please let me know how it works, i was thinking of doing the same thing...

The dummy thing did not work, it isnt an actual housing, only the front buttons work, the rest are fake and do not move, there isnt even a real battery cover, its one piece. That was a waste of $10.99
still really desperate to get a new housing, anyone know where one is available?

Well let me add that I am not the seller. so don't ask me any questions, but this is a seller I have bought housing for my imate jam before...
hrm, sorry about bring up an old thread, but I thought it would be easier than starting a whole new one.
I'm purchasing a used dopod 838 pro sometime this week, and was looking to get a replacement housing for it as it is fairly abused. Would something like the above posted (HTC 8525 case) work well? I notice that, that case doesnt have a powerbutton on the front of the case, will this cause a problem when I go to replace the housing?

There you go guys.. I dropped my phone before christmas, and broke the latch that holds the battery door on, and I had to use some tape for awhile. I must have ordered one of the last Cingular 8525 cases, since all they have is the HTC Hermes black cases with the front camera hole.
That shouldnt be too big of deal to you guys though looking for new cases. It took about a week and a half to get here (FL, USA) from Hong Kong at Christmas time. Very good site..

I use a case with magnetic closure..............I put the device into the case with the screen facing away from the magnet and I have never had any issue with it.

I am having the same problem sourcing the correct housing for my phone. I am from the UK and have searched high and low to find a housing for the UK equivalent the SPV M3100 (HERM100 - so the label says).
I have checked all the sites mentioned above, at cnn.cn they dont have the correct housing as the front buttons are different? and the cingular housing is 1: not a nice colour! and 2:L i dont know if this includes the mid plate as well.
Does anyone know where i can get hold of the correct housing(not silver) i dont mind the branding.
Somehow the plastic lens over the flash has cracked. I have a case on my phone and there is really no sign of damage and I have yet to drop the phone. Anyone know where to get a new rear cover for the phone. Also Im not sure if it's just my phone but the vibration sounds terrible. It sounds like a blown speaker when it vibrates so I would like to replace that too. Anyone know where to get any parts?
HTC? ebay?
Maybe you could post an ad in the Marketplace for a bricked hd2.
Both good ideas. Have been following ebay for anything available, and HTC is no help. Ill post something here. Thx. Not sure why parts for this phone are so difficult to find.
There are tons of replacement lenses on ebay - do a search in EBAY as HTC HD2 lens camera - they are cheap but you need some sort of adhesive to attach the lens back on the rear cover. Full housings OEM genuine are available from www.cnn.cn buy they are extremely expensive.
There are several internal speakers on ebay as well.
Ah hell, mine did the same thing, and I know I didn't drop it, I think it cracked from heat or something.
I have somehow managed to break the glass on my camera, and a bit of random plastic doesnt quite cut it optically, so im looking to get a replacement. However the only place i can find (etrade supply) that will do it wants $20 to ship it (to the uk) for a $0.66 part that weighs less than a feather.
Can anyone recommend where i might be able to find it? Or know if other models fit?
Many Thanks

Optician might help you... to cut the glass
Hello all,
I bought a Galaxy S4 for my partner, and stupidly didn't get it insured.
The screen got cracked quite badly, so fr £120 a local lad put a new screen on. Later that week it got dropped onto mud on the way to nursery and smashed entirely.
I now have a predicament, either give up the phone and go back to my sluggish s3, or ask you guys this question:
Where is the best and most value for money place to get a smashed screen fixed (you can't see anything just a rim of light) somewhere reputable that will use genuine parts and guarantee their work? I really don't want to just leave it on the shelf and am worried that without good advice I will end up with another shabby repair.
Your input would be greatly appreciated.
Many thanks and Happy Christmas,
Ric
If you only break the front glass like what happened to mine, you can get new glass for £5 and DIY. (If you're confident working on things like that - it is a bit of a nightmare of a job to separate the glass from the touch sensor)
But if there's no picture on the screen at all then you've killed it completely. A new full screen assembly is about £90 on eBay I think, so £120 is about the right price for someone to do it for you.
BTW, the first time you broke your screen, if you could still see the picture on the screen was fine, then the guy probably charged you £120 to change the £5 front glass. I've heard of people getting ripped off like that.
Most of the time it is just the front glass that is broken. Unfortunately this latest time, it sounds like you've been unlucky.
You could always take out phone insurance, leave it a couple of months, and then the screen breaks.

ha, the first time the phone broke, my misses threw it against a metal door obliterating the top and matrix thingy so an extensive repair was required. I'm well aware of the £5 DIY jobby hairdryer thing but this second breaking is again both screens, and I don't want a shabby repair I want the original screen part so that it is as strong as it can possibly be. I paid this guy £120, but the screen was so weak it broke dropping on mud! SO I still need to know, where can I get it fixed with genuine Samsung parts? Samsung only? Are the any reputable companies members would use to have their £500 phones repaired?
Thanks to the guy that replied I can't see your name now I'm replying somehow...
In pretty sure there aren't any fake AMOLED screens, not like phones that use LCD - there are hundreds of fake LCD's for those phones. But there are fake front glass panels.
If I wanted to make sure that genuine parts were used I'd order the screen assembly up from eBay myself. You can order it up as a complete front assembly from eBay, and it's a very easy job to change the whole thing over yourself, if you're reasonably confident about tackling things like that. Just make sure it's described as 'Genuine Samsung', and not 'Samsung panel genuine for i9505' or suchlike. If it's described as 'Genuine Samsung', then you have comeback of its not.
I've fixed a good few phones though, and all the times I've ordered parts as I've described above, it has been the real deal. It's pretty easy to tell the fake front glass panels.
Changing the front glass only with hairdryer etc is a sh!tty job, but changing a whole front panel which has the chrome effect plastic trim piece, AMOLED, touch sensor, and front glass already assembled is a piece of p!ss...
I would totally recommend just getting it fixed... plenty of tutorials online to follow. Watch a few of them and see if it is something you are comfortable doing yourself. I've done it and found it to be quite simple. But, it all depends on your comfort level with repairing things...
I think getting it fixed is the idea, yes lol
I was saying though that since it's the whole thing that is broken and needs changed, and not just the front glass, the job is much easier. It's just a case of taking a few screws out and swapping the whole front assembly. On a difficulty rating out of 10 I give it a 4
If you watch a couple of videos on YouTube first, and you take it nice and carefully, I'd say this is a job that most people could handle.
