For some reason On My VX6800 DCD 2.3.2 . Everything was working fine then I went to send i Pix today and it tells me the limit is 1K...Hmm Somethings wrong.... I have a had this problem on the Stock Rom Also...How Can I reset it? I don't want a Hard reset it again!!!!!!

i have same problem no matter what size pic it was too big. i found somewhere that stated audiopara messed thins up. i deleted that and now i can load a pic into message but cannot send. arrrghhh.
i founs something about reg edits but dont understand it...
i cannot do hard reset cuz i cant loose my contacts.
anyone know a easy way to save contact **without** outlook?

Ugh. That happened to me, and I did a hard reset to get it back....
Funnyy thing is that I have had it before, but after hard reset there is non.
As I recall, when I first turned on device I had the same problem, but this is nonsense.

Ok, With fit4cat twik I unlocked the extended rom , where the MMS*.cab file was, so I just run it and MMS here they come.
Just in case somebody needs it.
As I'm trying to get rid of the MMS folder without a hard reset, I'd be curious to know what you did to make it go away in the first place... any ideas?
Can't say really, I think when I hard reset the device it did not install from extended rom, so mayne you can delete it from extended rom and then hard reset.
But save the file in case you will need it later.

I am a total newbie and so have no idea what is spl, hard reset or ROM backup methods. But I tried many new softwarez on my phone and as a result they all screwed up my phone. I tried a new panel manager it totally screwed up the system. I uninstalled it and now I cann't change panels any more, when I press the X button it says Xpanel exe missing. Then I thought I will try spb shell 3.0 I installed it and it screwed up my contacts somehow. I uninstalled it too.
And now my phone sucks!!
I am trying to learn how to BackUp rom before I try someone elses ROM. Even though its is pretty complecated which one should I try? I was thinking of 6.5 but there are so many of them dont even know which one is the right one.
Anyway in the mean time that I learn, I was wondering if somebody knows how I can get my phone Xpanel back at least?

I flashed my HTC Viva with pdaviet's 6.5 Rom (which is in all other ways totally cool) but now when I start an SMS or email I can no longer start typing the recipient's name in and have the phone search my contacts and auto complete the address or phone number. I have checked in my options Search All Address Books. Is there a tweak for this?

did u hard reset your phone after flashing the rom? if you did'nt then you should...also do take note hard resetting will delete everything on the phone's memory, and it will restore it back to how it was when u first flashed it. hope this helps.
No this won't help even if you hard resset so there is a plugin file to install on it ... so find it out i'm alsoo looking for that file i think it was uploaded in any topic like Wm6.1 v(1.6)
Hi, I'm new here. Sorry as this is my first post.
But lately, I've encountered a problem with my XDA exec.
I always get text messages all the time, so I delete them. After a soft reset, the deleted messages come back.
All of my messages recieved and sent between the soft reset and that are gone.
I already tried waiting for an hour then soft reset, it still comes back.
Deleted the messages at the 'deleted messages' folder, still there.
I used Jeyo Mobile Companion to delete individual text messages, and it would still come back!
Also, my phone has a tendency to reboot by itself. As much as I dont want to turn off my phone or anything, I dont want to
I dont know what causes it, can you please tell me why?
The xda is my brother's but I'm using it. I dont want to ask him to fix or anything.
I also want to consider hard resetting but I dont know on which way it will erase everything. How much it will reset, and all of that.
Can you also tell me how much a hard reset will erase?

Welcome to forums
A hard reset will wipe all information sotred on your device, your SD card info will be intact (of course if you remove it before hard reset).
it will also help to clean all unnecessary files and apps you have installed so your device will perform much better.
It returns the device to it´s original state of the ROM.
All can be backed up before a hard reset, for example you can use PIM backup to save all your messages sent , recieved, etc.

Thing is, though. I also dont know how to install programs into the xda. I know I know, I should have used search..but I'm a busy student so I dont have time for that
I think the xda is in Windows 6.1, as well.
Won't it get any conflicts or problems with the phone if I hard reset it... as far as I can tell, my brother put and used a different software or ROM different from the 'original' one.
If I choose to hard reset, is there any way to back up the apps and the stuff my brother put? I will be in grave trouble if he founds out that I hard reset the phone and asking him for help when I'm just 'borrowing' his phone :]
No probelm doing hard reset with wm6.1
as I told you use the soft I recommended to back up your messages, for the apps check in start-settings-system-uninstall programs thelist of your installed apps, then let us know and we can point you to the right place to reinstall them.

I was tinkering around with the NFSFAN's V10 in the configuration setting and then it did a soft reset but now the touch function is not working so I cannot enter my password to begin using the phone....Is there anyway for me to retrieve the contacts and calender and texts on my phone without having to delete everything? Or any program out there that can extract the data even though my phone is currently locked?
I have the V16 which I have yet to install....
Any help will be greatly appreciated...Thanks

hey why dont you try plugging the phone into a computer and see if activesync works you should be able to get your contacts at least, but i am not sure. good luck
I can't get activesync to work...Only my sd card shows up...Also what program is best to use to transfer the contacts...Outlook express?
Ok I got it to sync after doing a hard reset but activesync says I don't have permission to access the files...Is the pim.vol all I need or do I also need the cemail.vol? As I don't have permission to copy the later....Lastly are the notes also saved in pim.vol or are they separate?

pim.vol should be your contacts not sure about cemail.vol(sounds like email to me idk)
Ok so I flashed to the latest stock rom from HTC...but the tapping on the screen is very bad...Some things are unresponsive and other things I have to press down really hard and It's really slow...Did I screw something up here? It was hard for me to get past the initial setup where I had to align the screen....
Also I am confused on the radio thing...What is the best one to get right now? And do I really need to install it with a 2Gb microSD? I have a 4gb
