I am experiencing screen alignment issues with my phone. Especially when its placed on the landscape mode and the keypad is out. The touch screen seems to be touching only the lower left corner. Would buying a new screen from ebay fix this?

I dropped my iMate and the screen cracked. I had the screen replaced by PPCTechs and they did a great job. The device worked properly after a hard reset. After a few hours of use, the screen alignment drifts off. Typing on the onscreen keyboard becomes difficult and eventually impossible. After a soft reset and realignment of the screen, it works well for awhile.
Does this sound like a problem with the new screen or was something else maybe damaged (memory) in the drop? Has anyone else experienced a similar problem?
Fixed
The folks at PPCTechs recommended I peel back the screen protector 80% and smooth it back down. Evidently the screen protectors can develop "hotspots" that cause this behavior.
I have known the touchpad to cease operation if the screen protector is tucked under the edges of the front cover but I have never heard of misalignment due to air bubbles. I would try what they say and if the problem persists I would return it to them and ask for it to be fixed.
It's been working now for a day without problems. BTW, there wereno bubbles. PPCTechs installed the screen protector when they replaced the screen and did a very nice job. I am guessing it may have to do with temperature differences between the protector and the screen itself.
My XDA Mini has a screen issue.
Only part for the screen (the middle) has stopped responding to the touch pad.
How do I fix this, has anyone else had it?
Cheers

My Wizard (O2 XDA Mini S) has just developed this problem. The touch screen does not respond to touches around the middle of the screen. The outside edges of the screen work fine however.
I've had it for about 4 years now though, so I suppose its lasted well really. It's a G4 and I installed a WM6.1 ROM on it about 6 months ago (which is awesome btw, makes the phone sooo much better / faster!) but I don't think this is related to the problem.
Any known fix for this? I think it's a hardware issue since I also have the problem where upon opening/closing the keyboard, the screen goes white with multicoloured vertical lines and the phone emits a high pitched noise (have to put phone into standby then wake it up again to resolve). This, whilst annoying, I can live with, but not now the middle of the screen no longer responds to touches
I read somewhere its to do with the ribbon cable that connects the screen and main board, its gets trapped or worn over time as the keyboard is slid in and out. So I guess the touch problem is a more severe symptom of this? Can it be fixed?
Also a point of interest is that I keep the phone in the case a lot of the time. Could the magnets have possibly affected the screen? Anyone else with this problem keep the phone in its case a lot?
Thanks in advance,
Jamie
Hello,
Big problem again, my touch screen becomes unresponsive every other app I open. This is very annoying when opening the phone dialer. When this happens I have to open the keyboard and hit the start button then close it and it sometimes is able to power through this problem. Is this caused because of my processor speed? Will omap clock help? Or is the screen going out?
Thanks for your help.
May have fixed issue
Sorry to be taking up space on this board, for the second time I believe that I have fixed my own problem (opperator error) . I bought a snap on plastic housing to protect the phone from scratches. After driving myself nuts with this touch screen problem, I thought I wonder if it has something to do with the covering that I put on it. Upon removal of this the touch screen is back to its responsive self, unsure what the problem was with the snap on casing but I did resolve this issue.
Thanks
So since replacing my touch screen, I've noticed that the touch screen is having constant alignment problems. I read on another forum about a foam border going around the screen possibly causing problems and removed it and am still having problems.
When doing a test in the Notes function, it seems the more towards the center of the screen the stylus is, the more accurate it is. But when i start getting towards the corners, it either stops or freaks out.
Any ideas? Thanks!!
The alignment configuration works properly but when pressing on the borders of the screen it is registered as if i was pressing more towards the center of the screen (as if the touch area was bigger than the screen. For example if i press '0' on the keyboard it is registered as if I'm pressing '9'. It is worse on the far right but center (vertically) of the screen but happens all around the border of the screen. If i click on the center of the screen it works properly.
Also, at certain angles when the screen is off the center of the screen looks like there is a stain. Like if the liquid crystal is making bumpy reflections.
Is it a hardware failure? Can i manually fix it somehow? Thanks.
