Hi all,
I have a case question for you. And it deals with a specific type of case, so that's why I didn't use one of the other threads. I'm looking for a pouch for my Tilt. Like the Krussell Vertica. What I'm after is a vertical leather pouch, that is made just for the tilt only. I can find all kinds of universal ones out there, but they all too big since they fit the HTC apache (6700) I'm after something that fits the tilt snugly. Here's a couple I've found so far:
http://www.tiltdepot.com/krusell-vertica-multidapt-s-wide/4A25A1414A2.htm
http://cgi.ebay.com/MONACO-BLACK-LE...ryZ15036QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
I've looked at the sensa pouch cases as well. Can anyone recommend a good one that isn't made for all kinds of phones? any ideas? Thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Someone has pointed this one out in another thread, it looks nice but they said they could find it for like $15... which I havent been able to do...

A friend of mine has his Tilt in a case like you are describing... I think he said it was actually a Treo 750 case, but his Tilt fit perfectly.
-Jay
I have posted this in this forum before. The Treo 680/750 is within a mm of the dimensions of the Tilt. Any Treo pouch fits like a glove on the Tilt. I am currently using a fitted Treo pouch as my main phone holder.
You can get that Cellet case for less than $11.00 on Amazon.com. I bought one today.
http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/t..._shr?_encoding=UTF8&m=A3UW6FFMODPQYZ&v=glance
Thanks Gaby... I was looking for one that said Tilt... didnt know the Treo one would work... I likey the price... I wonder what the clearances would need to be if you have the rubberized case on the Tilt
Just picked up this case at Bestbuy... fits nice and should have enough room for when I put on the hard skin...

I received my Cellet case from Amazon. My Tytn ll has a rubberized hard case and it fits perfectly inside it.
I need to say this case is beautiful... For $6.00 plus shipping is a great buy.

I have that HTC one from best buy listed above, it fits prefectly, has 2 magnets holding the flap closed and the belt clip is metal. It also has a soft velvet interior to resist scratches.
Would be nice if the clip had a double lock on it, though.
~~~
Another I really like is this one; from at&t.
It is in the "Universal Cell Phone" category at the store, at first it was too small, but after a few hours use, it stretched to fit my tilt like a glove. This one makes a real nice case if you need something a little more rugged, its clip made of a heavy (pvc like) plastic that double locks around your belt, making it impossible to accidently come off. The "Ballistic" Canvas has a quality feel and the velcro feel like it will last, not the cheapstuff.
Just be carefull until it stretches, it had the tendency of catching the stylus, doesn't anymore though.
~~~
Both are a bit pricey, but considering the cost of the phone, I wouldn't trust those $9.95 specials, unless I could get my hands on it first. My friend found a $10 version of the HTC one, but the leather on it feels like it would wear down and rip pretty quickly.

This case is actually made by Nite Ize, and it is available on Amazon. The LARGE size fits the Tilt best compared to SMALL or PDA/Smartphone. The magnet version is also better than the velcro one.

I heard the phones were similar dimensions...
Kaiser is a little thinner and the controls are in slightly different places so most TyTn cases won't do very well with TyTn II.
If you need a good case Nutshell is IMHO the best of the best http://tuff-as-nuts.com/index.asp?PageAction=Custom&ID=10

You are pointing to pouches, wich is slightly different from CASE. You get one in the box anyway...
First TyTN case don't fit on the kaiser - I've tested 5 different ones.
And the bed news is - there no proper case anounced for kaiser

I just wanted to offer up helpful info on an alternative since the question was answered but the OP still needed a carrying solution, one better than the included horizontal pouch.
I visited my local Fry's Electronics yesterday & found a camera case that's just the right size for the Kaiser. The price is right at $6.99, and it doesn't add much thickness, making it good for pocketability. I keep my phone in my front pants pocket, so a thin case without a thick belt loop or hook is just what I need.
I'd prefer a custom fitted Piel Frama or Krusell, but they won't be available for a month or two -- in the meantime, the camera case will do just fine.
I am using a universal case from PDair and am quite happy with it. The phone fits fairly snug when new but after a few days of use, it becomes very comfortable to use.
haha funny how everyone is with AT&T in USA
I have the SEIDIO holster for my 8525 and my TyTN II arrived today. I am happy to announce that the TyTN II fits in this holster *almost* like a glove. The TyTN II is a little thinner .. BUT because the TyTN II and the holster have a rubber coating, it doesn't move. As far as i'm concerned it's a keeper!
Im using the palm polycarbonate case for the treo 680 it fits like a glove no rattling only problem is the palm logo on the outside
Since this is so new, it seems there are not many cases out there yet. The really neat ones are for the 8525, suppliers like: Krusell, seidio, beyza are not up to speed yet, or Am I wrong? Any one have any ideas on when there maybe releases?
I honestly love the one that came with the Kaiser. However, I heard that cases with magnetic flaps cause the Kaiser to automatically turn on since there is a magnetic connection to the slider keyboard. I'm not too familiar with this issue, but did read this somewhere.
I don't love the sideways case with velcro and non-springloaded belt hook, currently using a leather magnet flap case for a generic flip. Mine does not turn the phone On, depends on where the magnets are located as ones that are close to the keyboard's "open sensor" can turn the phone On. I'm rooting for Pocket Solutions to make one.
I'm watching the "Kaiser Accessories" area for the mose current info... as should you.
I put my Kaiser on my jeans' pocket with no cases (except screen protector).

You`re braver than me
Well, it should be fine inside the pocket, and the jeans is thick enough to protect the Kaiser and soft enough to not scratch the surface.
The only downside is dirt inside the pocket, but like I said, I always wipe it out clean (usually in the screen area). It will be the same in the case, screen get dirt.
My wife quite jealous the way I treat my Kaiser Because I will wipe clean the table, take a clean paper or tissue and put it like a carpet before I put my Kaiser ...

Krussel will release the ORBIT case for the TyTN II during October.
PDAir have just released a couple of Kaiser cases, and there are a few similar cases on eBay. Piel Frama have told me they'll have one in the next month or so.
4ustuff is a Hong-Kong based wholesaler that has a lot of Kaiser stuff, some of which may make its way into the retail channel.
on the Pocket Solutions website they're offering a fullbody "SkinGuardz" for the Tytn II...only problem is it's not in stock...i prefer a solution like this vs. a case (although one drop on the ground might force me to change my mind).
I used a slightly altered PDAir case for the Hermes (i cut all the clear plastic off over the keyboard and used Velcro to attach the phone to the case - worked really well. But with the Kaiser I`m leaning more toward the pouch type case, or perhaps a thin silicone case, but Ive not seen one of those yet.
Just Wireless Case
I bought a case at Staples yesterday from a company called Just Wireless. It is for a Blackberry/ Treo 750, but the TyTN II fit's in it perfectly. It is a holster type and it has a slim belt clip. You can probably find them at Walmart, Target, and others like that as the case retails for about $18.00. (picture taken with my TyTN II attached)
It may not be the best case, but it does the job for someone like me who is on traveling all the time and needs quick access.

Another option is this camera case -- I picked one up at my local Fry's a couple weeks back for $6.99. I see they've lowered the online price to below $5 -- that's going to be hard to beat.
i am a huge fan of gizmoskin.com if you read reviews on the cases you will see they use a very high grade leather. looks amazing and holds up like a champ. i have not seen their equal except for very very expensive designer cases. have been using their cases for he last 3 years
i asked them about a kaiser case and they said thy would look into it. if you want a nice case shoot them an email and say your interested.
I would love this one! (Cause I'm paranoid and had a Metal one for my Wizard...) but I can't seem to find anyone that carries them...

How is the case that comes with the Kaiser
I hope the one that comes with the Tilt is the same
As far as free cases go the one that comes with the Kaiser is excellent, very soft. I am waiting on a holster because I don't like taking the phone out the case while driving.
I use the holster I had for my old 8525. It fits my new TyTN ll perfectly.

In my opinion Krusell make quality cases which are practical. I bought one for my Vaio I. recently the clip broke, due to rushing through a doorway and having the phone yanked off the clip.
Krusell said send it back with proof of purchase and they will replace beacuse it comes with A LIFETIME gurantee.

Well there seems to be a lot of views about the best cases out there, just wondered what the most 'pocket friendly' case was?
Don't care about the material as long as it isn't a sock or a stick-on option (ie an actual case)
Definitely no belt loop, preferably a very low profile clasp etc...
Basically just want something that is likely to stop it getting scratched up in a bag or if it was dropped, but don't need full armour!
Any good suggestions?
I've been looking for something pocket friendly as well... I'm almost ready to just get a thin sunglass pouch... currently I'm using a case for a Sprint Mogul, but it has a belt clip...
i use an ipod slip case, and have pulled off the belt clip, gives good protection to the screen,
going to order a leater slip case from www.pdair.com to see what thats like
I've got one of these - http://www.pdair.com/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=10100000_900000_11000164&products_id=6561
Doesn't add much to the size at all, and I keep mine in my pocket all the time.
Here is what I'm using, it comes in Black, Brown or Pink:
http://www.wirelessground.com/tiltflipblack.html
It covers the back and front very well, the cut outs are aligned very well, it has a slimmer form factor than the Krussel Orbit I normally use.
Here is the one my spouse uses, it comes in Black or White:

i would be interested in your opinions and if you could confirm these points for me:
1) Can you still use the touch screen?
2) If the slide up and tilt works fine with the case on
3) The general quality and how bulky it is in a pocket
this looks perfect for me as i wanted a 2 piece armour case where i could still slide open the phone

The "tiltflipblack" is made by PDair and is available for 1/2 that price. I've had one for several weeks and it still looks new, and I wear it every day. It's the perfect case for me.
The slimest most "pocketable" case I've found yet, is the formfitting Noreve case as seen here:
http://www.pocketpcfreak.com/archive/00006945.htm
It is also one of the very few - true - formfitting cases (using a laminated leather design, w/o the ugly and disturbing plasting cover over the KB. It protects the front and back really well, if not so much the sides. Easy to use and good workmanship.
Actually it IS meant (IMO) for pocket carrying.
Have it for about a month, still looks as new. If however looking for a drawback, then to my daily use pattern there is one. While in the case using the Kaiser/Tilt for navigation (in a cradle) needs taking it out of the case.

Just wanted to add my comments based on owning 4 different cases for the Tilt/Kaiser ...
The PDAir aluminum cased is good and pocketable. It is a little on the heavy side, but I've carried it arond now for a couple of weeks and it's all right. The downside is that there is a hard plastic protector over the touchscreen of the Tilt. You have to open the case to use the touchscreen or you have to take the hard plastic out. You can either cut out or push it out with some force, but the plastic is glued in and is under the neoprene that cushions the Tilt against the case. Not the smallest feel in the pocket, but no leather covered cardboard bulk feel. The size of this reminds me of a naked 8125 in my pocket (did that without disaster for almost 2 years).
I also tried the PDAir leather flip case. That one is definitely not pocketable unless you have some REALLY big pockets. And I'm not a big flip cover guy. Another strike is the plastic keyboard cover.
I also tried the Noreve and it's a nice leather case. I would consider this one pocketable, it's rather slim. But it has the flip cover. The good thing is that it has no plastic keyboard cover. It's a little loose when you close the cover with the snap. It's not loosely held in ... that's a good fit. But the snap doesn't hold the flip cover down as firmly as I'd like.
Lastly, I JUST snapped on one of the plastic snap-on kind. Good fit, but not sure how much the plastic will help in a fall. It snapped on tightly ... so tightly it took 15 minutes to get it off! I did not like that at all. If something goes wrong and you need to drop the battery quickly ... 'quickly' won't happen with this case. You can still use the touchscreen and it's a very tight snap on fit. Doesn't add much bulk or weight for pocket storage. NOTE: if you pick one of these up, be careful and check whether the belt clip button on the case is screw on or permanent. The permanent ones won't be pocketable.
The best feel in the pocket is the plane Tilt/Kaiser with no case. But I know I'm pushing my luck if I continue to do that. Still switching up to see what I end up liking most. Hope this info helps folks.
Tothotspur said:

1) Can you still use the touch screen?
YES!
The openings for the keypad and LCD are tappered to provide the best access to the edges but they become alittle harder to get at due to the thickness of the plastic.
2) If the slide up and tilt works fine with the case on
Yes the screen slides out and up to the normal position. The upper softkeys are silightly harder to get at when tilted due to the tickness of the plastic.
3) The general quality and how bulky it is in a pocket
Fit was tight, and snapped into place. I do not plan to use the clip as it is optional, but I will follow up with a proper review and test it out. I will get exact mesuraments later but it is not a big change and well worth the extra size.

Yup! Cheap Too!
I will follow up with a better review tonight.
What I do not understand about using the transparent plastic snap, is why the hack would one need a case at all when all the really "pocket sensitive" components (Touch screen, Camera lens) are not covered at all... IMO if one is indiferent to this, they may not need a case at all.
I guess that all cases are kind of trade offs. Whatever protects adds bulk in the zones protected, light protection protects less than heavy armor but presents snappier use and so on.
The potentially best solution I've seen yet is actually not offered for the Tilt/Kaiser. It is made by EB Cases and called the eNovo. It is made of sturdy yet thin laminated leather, offering a form fitting case with an optional leather flip.
http://www.ebcases.com/-strse-3333/eNOVO-PAQ-6500/Detail.bok
I'm trying for some time to convince EB, Noreve and BoxWave (the ones apparently having the technology) to think about it...
Cheers,

Hey guys/gals, just thought I'd share this with you. I bought this case for my Tilt and it's one of the best I've had. The phone fits perfect in this case. Snug but easy to get out. I paid $12 on ebay for it. Make sure you buy the one with the attached belt clip (like in my pic). There is another one on there that allows you to change the belt clip. I had that one too but (same perfect fit) but unless you have a thin belt, the clip will not catch the belt. I'll include one of my previous cases. This one is just a better looking case and feels real sturdy. Hope you like it.
Have you seen a case that exposes the miniUSB port? I've seen a lot of good cases, but none that will expose the miniUSB. My second option would be just to go with the Seidio Slim Ruberized case.

Unfortunatly no I haven't. There's a thread on here that has the Seido clip with mods on it. Looks sweet.
I recently had bought a case for my Wing (before getting the tilt) and it fits the tilt perfectly and allows access to the usb port - unfortunately it seems the ebay seller is no longer registered so I can't even get the details from the auction.
This is HTC branded and the listing was titled NEW HTC TOUCH SHADOW MOGUL VX6800 MDA OEM LEATHER CASE

Thanks for the GREAT review.
I have this HTC OEM case and it's real nice and pretty cheap. Fits perfectly with the Seidio case installed on the Tilt.
I recently purchased the Seidio rubberized case/holster combo. This is an excellent product. I was looking for protection for the Tilt's body, however, wanted to access the screen. I was using the metal case from Monaco, very well built, however, twice my Tilt fell out of the case when the unit was on my belt and the latch caught on the bumper of my car and the Tilt when bouncing on the pavement. Also, my signal was very weak with the metal case, never realized this was the problem as I always used a metal case. I switched to this combo unit and I now have an extra 1-2 bars of signal regularly. Also, I like the fact the holster will hold the unit with the skin in place, faces inward, giving max protection to the screen which is easily accessed. If you want a case to protect the body of the tilt, access the screen easily, and use with a belt clip (do not have to use the clip holster), I could not imagine a better choice. I am very happy with the quality and design of the unit.

not necessarily, you could face it either way and its worth it. believe me, its worth it. even though its a little pricey.
The rubberized case is good. I gave up on the holster because the clip kept getting caught and would disengage the phone causing it to fall.
I got a Palm Treo case and it fits perfectly. The Seidio case also prevents the Tilt's buttons from being accidentally pressed.
This is the best combination of all the cases I have tried.

I bought the Seidio case and holster combo kit.
I have ordered a few cases before I was told that the TMobile USA HD2 is a slightly different size than others and now I have received those cases and they don't fit, now I am dissapointed and back out on the search for a case that actually looks nice and fits as well...Any advice? One case I do like is this :
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=150398009772&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT
But please dont let this limit your advice/recommendations... I am looking for any kind of case other than a leather pouch type case and I also do not wish to have those leather cases which have a flap that covers the screen..... any advice ?
I have been using a T-mobile Wing case I found for $5 at the tmo store on clearance. Good fit but it snaps on the front and it makes me nervous every time i push on them and they push against the glass. Still looking for a better case.
Someone told me the type that are held closed using a magnet may cause the famed "newton ring" so i'm not sure what to get.

Don't get that one. I ordered the exact one weeks before I got TMOUS hd2, and it doesn't fit.
I mean, it fits, but not perfectly. Plus, the material was too rubbery.
I don't even know if that's the word, but it's very shiny and doesn't feel that great in my hands.
It gives killer grip on any surface, though.
But once again, that cover does not fit your device perfectly.
I threw it away. such a waste...
I'm using the default gel skin it came with.
It's very nice, surprisingly. it's not the normal silicone cover that attracts every sort of dust in your pocket.
yeah i ordered two cases off ebay and one came in guess what they don't fit lol..awaiting more cases
I ordered and received that case already, but I wanted one that fits my phone...it does not fit completely but it will do , it is very nice in my opinion, shiny and slick , I do not like the stock one too much as it causes my fingers to feel dry and sticks in my pockets so it doesn't slide out easily enough...
any advice...anything like a 'barely there' case for our phone ?...
please post any ideas/ advice/ experiences/ anything..

I don't have an HD2, yet, but...
I've used a horizontal belt holster with a magnetic clasp for my TP2 since I got it in September. It's in the holster everyday, and I have yet to see a Newton Ring develop on my screen.
When I get an HD2, I'll be calling my local T-Mo store every week to inquire about future cases (like the one erebusting purchased) for the HD2 -- I'm afraid a 3ft drop would cause the thin phone to break in half! I also want a thin, hard case so I can still put the phone in a horizontal belt holster (I hate putting my phones in my pants pockets).
