I am new on Softbank X01HT (known as Dopod 838pro in my homecity Hong Kong) and would like to "use" my phone with the following addon:
1. iphone skin
2. change the browser to either "Piscel Browser" or "Opera"
3. change the dial pad to a smartdialing (automatically matches contacts during dialing)
Are there any comments or advices pls?

I have searched the forums for "Caller2Picture" but have come up with nothing. So here goes ...
I have the i-mate version of the HTC Himalaya with ROM v1.52.00WWE. I have installed the gitex update. I bought my phone from Telstra Australia, which has added some customized software which replaces the photo in the default IA Caller ID program with the Telstra logo!
I downloaded a trial version of Caller2Picture. I installed it in the default directory, then copied all my pictures into the Caller2Picture\Pictures directory. I then set up a ring and called myself with my spare mobile phone.
This is what I found:
1. Caller2Picture slows down my i-mate TREMENDOUSLY. Doing anything introduces an unacceptably long delay. If I try to open any application, I will be staring at the hourglass for about 10-15 seconds before anything happens.
2. When I get an incoming phone call, the picture will appear as is supposed to. However, there is no name assigned to the number, so I see the number (and the picture) only!
Because I cannot live with the above two bugs, I deleted the application from my i-mate. I am still VERY frustrated that I am unable to get Picture Caller ID to work on my expensive PDA/phone!
Has anyone else encountered the same problem - or better still developed a workaround?
That program as been nothing but trouble with WM2003, I think you'll
better luck with:
Pic&Ring ($10.00)

The application enables you to personalize the incoming call ring-tone and picture according to different callers.

Hi, i am using Dopod 838 (Wizard variant). I have a few cosmetic problems with it. when i view the contacts information some of the items like "Call Mobile" etc are all in Bold. is there a way we can set the "Wt" registry settings to normal for it? Similarly in Today screen also?
Thanks
Krishna
Isn't it bold to show which is the default entry you activate when you call that contact etc?
Pressing right on the dpad when in contact view would cycle the associated "bold" number I think.
Or am I confused?

yes, this is the link from the software that i have installed.
Did you do a soft reset after the software installation?
yes.
Have you installed cabs from the Extended ROM? There should be a CAB named like smartdialing_enable..
Personally i disabled smartdial. It made dialing VERY slow since i have quite a lot of contacts. It made dialing an unknown number soooo slow...
I used to be able to dial dial the name of the contact I wanted to call by pressing the numbers associated with the correct letters on the dial pad in the default dialer on MDA.
however, after i upgraded it to the newest T-mobile (ROM 2.26 I think), and skipping T-mobile customization script that runs after the initial bootup after upgrade(didn't want to have all the customizations, like their AOL client, etc.), I'm unable to dial contacts by name.
Is this something that can be changed in the registry? Or perhaps there's a CAB file that can be run that installs this feature? Please help me bring back the much-needed functionality.
you need to install a smartdialer, there is a link for one in my signature
Hi folks,
I've just upgraded my Hermes (Vodafone 1605 - UK) with the latest Vodafone ROM. All is well except I seem to have lost a dialling extension that I had in the previous ROM.
Let me try and explain what I mean....
On the previous ROM whilst on the phone dialler screen, when I hit a number with an alphanumeric character associated with it - for example '2' has 'abc' associated with it - I used to be presented with a list of names from my contact list in the top left corner of the phone screen that I could then scroll down and select to dial.
The new ROM doesn't have this (or at least I can't seem to find a way of turning it on).
Any ideas on how I might add this functionality back?
Regards,
Kev
