Problems with Caller2Picture - MDA II, XDA II, 2060 General

I have searched the forums for "Caller2Picture" but have come up with nothing. So here goes ...
I have the i-mate version of the HTC Himalaya with ROM v1.52.00WWE. I have installed the gitex update. I bought my phone from Telstra Australia, which has added some customized software which replaces the photo in the default IA Caller ID program with the Telstra logo!
I downloaded a trial version of Caller2Picture. I installed it in the default directory, then copied all my pictures into the Caller2Picture\Pictures directory. I then set up a ring and called myself with my spare mobile phone.
This is what I found:
1. Caller2Picture slows down my i-mate TREMENDOUSLY. Doing anything introduces an unacceptably long delay. If I try to open any application, I will be staring at the hourglass for about 10-15 seconds before anything happens.
2. When I get an incoming phone call, the picture will appear as is supposed to. However, there is no name assigned to the number, so I see the number (and the picture) only!
Because I cannot live with the above two bugs, I deleted the application from my i-mate. I am still VERY frustrated that I am unable to get Picture Caller ID to work on my expensive PDA/phone!
Has anyone else encountered the same problem - or better still developed a workaround?

That program as been nothing but trouble with WM2003, I think you'll
better luck with:
Pic&Ring ($10.00)
http://www.xda.com.cn/E/index.htm
The application enables you to personalize the incoming call ring-tone and picture according to different callers.

??? Has anyone MY|PHONE PROFILES ???

Has anyone this great app?
http://geocities.com/myppcpe2003/index.htm
Maybe a key for it?
I'D like to use it
It appears to be the best prog that I've looked for to switch my XDA2 to a changeable caller profile phone like a nokia!
I liked this app initially, great interface and lots of functionality, however I found a few problems:
Sometimes after changing profiles the ring would be silent when it should be heard - the dialog would pop up showing the caller, but no sound.
You can set it to automatically revert to the normal profile after <n> minutes, or at a certain time. For me this only happened when the XDA was on - thus if it should have switched profile and then a call comes in before you have switched on the device it still uses the wrong profile.
If these problems can be sorted it would be a great app.
As for a key... go to PocketGear and but it!
Yeahh..So It's not a perfect software again.
Do you know any program that analyze the caller from the contacts and you can select for example just one number or one goup to receive? The other ignored or silent like Nokia phones.
I have come across MUTX RingToneX which allows you to set ring tones by contact or category so this may well give you what you want. Can't tell you how good it is, but you can get a free trial from the link below:
http://www.pocketgear.com/software_detail.asp?id=8675
Thx for the answer but I'm looking for an app with easy switching between sound profiles.
For example:
A) MODE
Every unknown number has RINGTONE1
FAMILY group has RINGTONE2
FRIENDS group has RINGTONE3
MY CARALARM SYSTEM (has a mobile calling function) has RINGTONE4
...etc.
B) MODE
Every unknown number is silent or ignored
Every other group than MY CARALARM SYSTEM is silent or ignored
MY CARALARM SYSTEM is ringing and answered (at night while I'm sleeping I want to receive just the call from my car's alarm system)
It's just a simple thing that a lot of phone's using. (Nokia & others)
I hope somebody understands my problem and knows an apllication with the ability I wrote above.
Thx
I think (not sure!) that you need a combination of two programs:
JGUI My Phone Profile AND IA Caller ID (OR Caller2picture)

THanx the answer but I'm sure (not think) that I don't need the combination you wrote because My phone profile can switch just sound profiles with setting the ring volume or vibrating, IA caller ID can add a picture to a call, Caller2picture can add a ringtone and a picture to a call.
But I need what I wrote upper, please read it perfectly, because it is something different.
I need a software that has the ability to verify a caller-group and for example you can reject all number/call except the caller-group you set like with Nokia phones.
ANYBODY DOES UNDERSTAND WHAT I WANT???????
Maybe because I'm from Hungary and my english is not so well..... :?
My Phone Profile 3.1
My Phone Profile 3.1Full
Reg Code: TMPP-1177-JGUI
Have a fun!
If you have an XDA II, you don't need to get the IA Caller ID because it's already on the XDA II. IA Caller ID is called Photo Contacts in the XDA II.
Caller2picture can add a ring tone to a group. Whenever you want to reject a specific group, give it a silent ring tone.
@VHS: bad boy... i don't think that this should be made public... software worth using is worth bying.
hehe ...bad not bad, but apart from that a/m ...
discussion has been pretty much interesting to me as to sound profiles etc, I have been also looking for some time for software allowing for easen phone handling

Finger Clix

So..Nobody understands what I want.
OK.
Tekflow:
Thanx, but I know that I can set a silent ringtone for a group with one of these softwares. But I NEED SOMETHING DIFFERENT:
I have a car within a mobile-phone-alarm-system. If somebody does something with my car, this mobile (in my car) calls my mobile phone which is with me. So, usually (always) I switch off my phone by night. But if I switched off my phone I would never know my car's calling. That's why when I had a Nokia7650 I can set a profile called Night-profile which has the settings with all calls + all groups has a silent ringtone and my Car-alarm-number has a loud-sirene-ring. That caused when somebody called me except my car my phone was silent. When my car called it ringed with the highest level. And if somebody wanted to stole my car I had heard it. But not now. Because I don't want everybody to call me from 6 a.m., that's why I switch off my phone, but if I switch off my phone I can't hear if my car's calling me.
That's what I can't set in my XDA2.
With no any of your suggested programs.
I know all of them, and I know none of them has the ability I wrote upper.
SO........SOMEBODY UNDERSTANDS WHAT I WANT TO SAY SINCE DEC.05.???????????????????????????????????????????????????????
p.s.:I think so that FingerClix is the best dialling program for the XDA (I use it), but I need another thing, not just for dialling or to give a ring volume for all numbers and groups. My phone profiles can set just a general volume and vibrate settings without any choice to give a different volume for just one group or one phone number like Nokia.
(Maybe since dec.5 there's an update for MyPhoneProfiles or for the others and they have expandable ability?)
I (hopefully) understand what you talking about (have had a Nokia for years...), but i'm not aware of such a tool at this time for the MDA/XDA.
regards,
If I understand you: you need a program that gives you the opportunity of turning off the sound of the telephone for all incoming calls except one number or one group of numbers, or, better, to make call barring for all calls except for one number or one group of numbers (some kind of filtering). I also don't know if this kind of program is available for the Pocket PC Phone. Anyone on the forum aware of this ?
anybody has version 5?
I think what Tuningszocske want is something like Blacklist in Nokia Symbina phones. I know of a Chinese program call CallerFirewall, it allows one to add contacts to black or white list, you can choose to block all contact in black list, receive call only from white list or block all incoming calls etc. This program is compatible with dopod686、O2XDA、T-Mobile、and LegendT108.

ringtone programs...

Hi,
I just wanted to have some special ringtones for some contacts or groups...
But so far, I wasn't lucky:
Caller-ID: slow, often didn't show the correct number, lots of compatibilty troubles
RingtoneX: slowed down my device even more than Caller-ID. And it doesn't recognize the ringtone directory, which I moved to \Storage\Rings. If I set the ringtone folder in RingtoneX to this path, it copies the used files to \Windows\Rings - which is slow, useless, and clutters my valuable main memory.
PhonExt: didn't work at all. I could set the ringtones just fine, but they're not used if a call comes in. And it only supports WAV.
Is there any other program I could try? Or are there ways to work around the named troubles?
Bye,
Mirko
Yeah I've been lloking for a good ringtone app as well. Finally stuck with IA CallerID for the same issues you mentioned. Haven't been experiencing a lot of trouble with it though, my tones are also in \Storage\Rings and I have small animated GIFS for groups. Also I only setup the people who ring me the most not all 400+ contacts.
You're not alone. I had hunt and found that IA is the only one that works(buggy).
The caller ID program is lacking somewhat important features such as assigning ringtones by category.
Can you try whether this works for you?
I simply modifiy the registry entry for the ringtone when a call comes in.
Surprisingly this worked for me - I'd have expected the system's call popup to read this entry before I get control...
Nontheless, I'd like to know if I'm just lucky, or if it works generally...
The program interface is a mixture of PhoneExt and RingtoneX.
Like PhoneExt, it must be running to work (i.e. put a link in autostart folder if you want it permanent), there are category ringtones with priorities, and there's a tray icon with popup menu.
Like RingtoneX, you can set ringtones for both groups and contacts.
Currently, the contacts are only read at program launch, so you have to restart it to recognize modifications to the contacts.
In the contacts list, the used catecory ringtone is shown, if no contact ringtone is set. You can tell whether it's a contact ringtone by the "X" (remove) button - it's inactive if the ringtone's received from the categories.
There might be problems with huge contact databases, since I create a number -> ringtone map for performance reasons (searching the number in the contact database would be far too slow, esp. since numbers can appear in different variations, which I unify...).
Another thing to notice: I list all files in the ringtone folder - no matter if they're valid ringtones or not.
Oops: Last not least: The installation. Just copy the contained file somewhere on your PPC and execute it there. You should create a new folder for it, since contacts.dat and categories.dat will be created in the directory where the program file is located.
btw: Except for the modified ringtone entry, there are no modifications to the system, i.e. after exiting the program, all will be like it was before...
Hi !
I've made an app to display picture of contacts to dial, and I'm interested in how you get the incoming call notification (I'd like to make my own calledID). So I you can share source or point me some sites where to find info, ...
I hope my app will be available soon.
Regards,
Olivier.
has anybody tried Mort's application?
Another try...
I'm using lineSetAppPriority now, which should ensure my tools can set the ringtone before the default popup appears. Sadly, on my device it's completely ignored. But maybe it works on other devices - or has somebody here experience with lineSetAppPriority?
If you copy the included mortsms.dll to the \Windows directory, customized SMS signals should work, too.
Programmers: If you create a registry key with <window title>=<window handle> (as DWord) in HKLM\Software\Mort\SMSNotify\Windows, you'll receive a WM_COPYDATA with a string containing "SMS\n<sender>\n<text>" whenever an SMS comes in...
Mort
I've installed MortRing 0.2 on my device (haven't set ringtones yet) it uses CallerID Picture and MortRing ringtone so it works!!! Now I have to find a way to uninstall CallerID without a hard reset. Thanks.

Er, right...
To active the mortsms.dll, you either have to do the following:
1. Show "Messaging" and close it again (real close, i.e. Storage - Running programs or any "Close button replacement" like PocketPlus).
2. Copy mortsms.dll to \Windows
3. (Re)start MortRing
Or put the DLL in the \Windows directory, do a soft reset, and launch MortRing...
Mort, your program really rocks! Thanks alot dude 8)
but one thing: when i get a missed call, it says 2 missed calls (one with the number, and the other with UNKNOWN number)!!
otherwise, everyting is COoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoL  thanks
Does even not work. ringtones ok. sms does not work
Here's a version with installer, maybe it fixes the SMS problem (I think the DLL doesn't get registered correctly without installer...). Restarting "Messaging" or a soft reset might still be necessary after installation, though...
It also creates a Startup entry.
@ezzkht: That might be a follow-up error from the lineSetAppPriority problems. I forward the call informations to the next priority program (usually Windows' call popup). If the priority is ignored, I do that after it already got it... But I've got no idea why the number gets lost...
Here's a variation without lineSetAppPriority. Maybe it helps with the "unknown" entry in the call history...
Ringtones works, sms works Thanks, Mort!
Here's a minor update. On some devices, the mortsms.dll did not work. It seems like ole32.dll isn't preinstalled on all devices, but I was able not to require it anymore...
Currently, lineSetAppPriority is removed completely, as it doesn't seem to have any positive effects. Sadly, due to this, it doesn't work everywhere - at least I know of one user with an MDA II and a quite a lot of contacts (about 500), where it doesn't work. I don't know whether it's because of the amount of contacts or the device differences.
(SMS notifications should work everywhere, though)
after a test it plays the sms ringtone that i selecet for one adressentrybut after a while the standat sms tone is gone and for all incomming sms the selecet for the entry is played
cooooooooool, now it works well 8)
thanks Mort
Now the SMS tone is reset a second after the notifacation and on program exist, so the default tone won't be overridden with the recently used.
Additionally, there are three pseudo categories: *other contacts*, *not in contacts*, and *number supressed*.
Mort!!!! would like to thank you again for this application works very well on my imate JAM! I'm really happy with it!!! Now I have more RAM to play with as Caller ID has been removed! Woooohoooo! Respect!

Now the BT headset can show the Caller ID Name!

Found this link from a post in Wizard section yesterday:
http://www.jetwaremobile.com/index.htm
As the doc says this extension has a SIM access profile, I tried this BT extension on my Universal and a Bluetooth Headset SE HBH-662 that has a Caller ID screen. With this BT extension, now the BT headset can show the Caller ID Name IF the contact name and number exists in the SIM card.
However, it will not show any caller name if the contact only exists in Outlook Contacts.
My test also shows, the number stored in the SIM card has to be exactly the same with one sent over by the operator, otherwise it will not show the caller name. Ex. if the operator sends over the caller number as 171xxxxxx and the number stored in the SIM is 71xxxxxxxx then it will not work. Same thing if the number stored in the SIM is +171xxxxxxx and the operator sends the number 1713xxxxxx then it wil not work as well.
I kind of like to use the format +171xxxxxxxx as this is the international format.
Anyway, this is great, as most people have been waiting for this function to work out of their caller ID BT headset. Now, if we can find out how to make it work to access the Outlook Contact, then its perfect...
Can you report back on your experiences with this? I'm reluctant to install it unless it's proved to work and be reliable with my Jabra BT800.

Hi guys !
I'm just trying it in my 9000 with Jabra BT 800
In the site linked by lie_ui I read:
Configuration
The JETware Hands-free Extension allows control of the phonebook and messaging information that is provided to Hands-free devices. To configure these options run the Hands-free Config application which is installed in the Bluetooth Options folder in your start menu.
I don't find any new icon or service and i can't see the caller number
Have you tried this application ?
I believe in Jwright's Modified ROM there is an application called "SIM Access" that allows this. I was not able to try it because I don't have a headset with caller name capability. I forgot to copy the "BT SIM Access" application, but already tried it on the latest QTEK ROM a month ago and the application worked fine.
Thanks cktlcmd
Now i search for "Sim Access" in the forum
I keep you update

If you go to Start Menu\programs you'll find the Bluetooth options folder. By the way, don't forget to soft reset first.
I've tried with Parrot CK3100 and now I have the battery and network signal strenght status as well as network name. I'm expecting someone to try with BT800 and to report it.
i've tried out the software i must say i'm impressed that it actually displaying caller's name. however my main problem now is my i cant activate voice dial now. before the software if i was to push the button the headset voice dialin would kick in. but after installin it, caller id works but the voice dialings malfunction. is anyone else having this problem as well?

Yes, same happens to me.
I have the HBH-662, after installing the software the button on my headset does nothing when pushed, unless it is pushed for answering a call, although the name gets displayed when getting a call, provided that the name is on the SIM card.
The other bad thing about it is, if the name is NOT in the sim, it does not display the number, it displays "Unknown" on the headset!
Good step in the right direction though, now it only needs a few tweaks!
Cheers

on my bt800 don´t show the name of the caller

Try checking your "Notifiaction Que". There should only be one sddaemon file. If there is a duplicate then delete it. I use MemMaid for this.

As I mentioned above, the last time I had a problem with voice dialing was when a duplicated "Notification Que": sddaemon file to be exact, was present. Just delete the duplicated sddaemon file, soft reset, and pair your BT headset again. I used MemMaid's Notification Que to clear duplicated files. I hope this is clear enough.
ok i'll test your suggest....thank you.
excuse me for bad english, i don't speak well this language!
i'm italian
nothing..
not vocal dialing
BT extention
I have another problem in addition to the voice dial problem...... whenever I receive a call from soneone who is using a service provider other than my service provider the device hangs and I have to soft rest the device provided that all the contacts are stored in my SIM card.
Great achievement indeed!!! A first step into a long waited direction
However decided to uninstall it from my Universal, waiting for a new release.
In fact some improvements are required to make it really useful.
I've tried it with my Jabra BT800.
A few issues that I've noticed,
Name displayed, only if:
[list:cca8e10c8e]
Contact present into SIM card.
Outlook phonebook not being used (at least with BT800) despite announced as a feature.
In order for the correspondent name to be displayed, number must be stored into Contacts, exactly as sent by the Operator.
- Some operators do not send the '+CountryCode'.
- This may originate different behaviours for instance depending if user is at Roaming or not.
- Some sort of algorithm would be welcomed to add some "intelligence" here.
[*]If received phone number is not present into SIM card, or not exactly with the same format, 'Unknown' is displayed even in the event of a number being sent...
The number received should be displayed at these circumstances.
[*]Whenever a Contact name gets displayed, only its first 8 characters are shown.
Much better if complete name contained at Contact, would scroll continuously.
[*]Voice Speed Dial not working, if JETware Mobile Software is installed.
This is a must, to be solved![/list:cca8e10c8e]
Eagerly waiting for a next release
I agree with the summary listed above. As I listed already in the very beginning of this posting what I found. Yes, its also true that Voice Dialing is not longer working once this app is installed. I did not have Voice Dialing enabled indeed, I tweak the registry so that on the push of the button on the BT headset, it will turn on the BT headset to accept any sound from the PDA instead (I use this for VoIP application).
And now this is not longer working, so similar synthom with the Voice Dialing app.
Once last thing, I cannot uninstall this app.
So for those that have not tried it yet but insterested to try, I would recommend not to try it, just read what we have found so far here, and do not need to repeat the same experience.
Hopefully those guys who write this app read this posting as well and will make the fix.
Not to rain on anyone's parade, but my JAM with its lowly Windows 2003 Mobile SE has been showing the contact name if it exists on the SIM without any modifications on my SE HBH-662.
I made this observation about a year ago on HoFo and six or so months ago right here on XDA-Dev.
This is interesting to say the least.

Please please help - Caller ID/Incoming Call Prob

Guys,
I've posted this before but nobody has helped me yet.
Basically put I have a couple of contacts for which I have more than one contact number (home, Mobile etc..)
Anyway, when i receive a call from one of these contacts, the name is not resolved, the picture is not shown and the custom ringtone I have chosen (all by vanilla stock rom means) does not ring!!
I have seen this happen with "Exact" matches to contacts in my Contacts list and also if I have entered the number as "+447760....." instead of using the default "07760...." prefix for UK mobile numbers (as I'm abroad a lot so need to use that to dial them) it also refuses to recognise that they are in fact the same number - something my Artemis did without an issue.
Please help me resolve this - it's ruining my HD experience!
Thanks
21 views and no replies - come on guys please - going on a trip tomorrow and I need this to be sorted if poss - doing my head in!!
I had exactly the same problem on my X1, which I have now sold so I could get a HD. I was on o2 uk using itje's 5.061 rom. What network are you on and which rom and what software have you installed? maybe something we both installed is causing the problem
Right, I'm on a stock rom on an unbranded Touch HHD on the Vodafone network. Programs I've installed are as follows:
Changscreen,
HDTweak
Advanced Config
S K Tools
Battlog
Fingerkeyboard
Resco file Explorer
Very strange - it might have happened since I restored a backup but I doubt it.
Try reducing Phone>Call ID match number in Advanced Config.
I have similar problem... Just installed dutty 3.0X and when i sinchronized all my contacts become duplicated, so i deleted manual only the first ones. And now when someone from the contacts is ringing i dont get picture or his name and I am sure that i have the same number in the contact list. Odd
Anyone have any other ideas about this? Still causing me some considerable pain - I seem to recall it started after I started to reconcile the outlook contacts with my PC - this may have caused a different contact ID (or something?)
same problem and no solutoin... :-(
i managed to fix this by reassigning the phone numbers to the contacts page. It seems to occur when you use 3rd party contact management apps before you have assigned numbers.
Works fine now
mslookout inserts spaces into phone number, and prolly phone cannot recognise incoming number having spaces in phonebook?
I also cant fix it by changing CallIDMatch in the registry. It's bizarre as I have 2 contacts in my favourites: both are now set to No's starting with '0' yet when one texts me, their name shows and when the other does, their number shows. hard and soft resets have also failed to resolve this, HTC helpdesk no use at all, also logged with Windows helpdesk in case it is a microsoft, not htc, problem.
Am keen for other things to try, open to suggestions....
Am disappinted and amazed that what is otherwise a great phone, can't do what cheap cr*ppy phones, can , ie show the name of the person calling or texting.
Have you tried using Advanced Config and increasing Call ID match to 9 or 10?
No caller name when receiving Incoming Call
This may be an old thread, but sometimes the newer ROMs also have the same problem.
This happened to me after updating my from from WM 6.1 to WEH 6.5.3. So, I am updating this thread on how I resolved my problem.
Step 1. Edit the Registry and change the CallIDMatch value to 7 (the original value was 10).
Code:
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\Phone]
"CallIDMatch"=dword:00000007
Step 2. Soft Reset (power off and restart)
Before I did this, I needed to copy my contacts from SIM to the Outlook Contacts list, so in my Contacts list, I have "double view" of both lists on the same screen - frustrating.
After this change of the Registry key value, I erased all my contacts from the Outlook Contacts list (use the Hide Sim Contacts function) because I prefer to have my default contacts to be from the SIM card instead of the Outlook Contacts. This way, I can be assured that all newer contacts will be stored on the SIM card and I do not have to worry about losing contacts if I change phones.

[GUIDE] New guide for VOIP/SIP on WM6..all files included

I spent a couple hours sorting through blog posts, downloads, cabs, blah blah blah... with the goal of getting my forsaken Treo Pro (WM6) to use VOIP through my office's SIP/Asterisk setup.
To save you all some headaches, here's the distilled version of what I found to be the best combination of software and quick hints for install:
I started with this blog post, to give credit..
http://voipguides.blogspot.com/2008/05/voip-sip-client-for-windows-mobile-6.html
But I used different software... so I've included a zip with the package of all the stuff I installed to make the damn thing work.
1) Install all of these:
- voipdrivers.cab
- custelvoip.cab (works better than MajikVOIP.cab)
- sipconfig.cab (originally named SipConfigTool_2_0_1.CAB)
- audioroute.cab (from http://www.teksoftco.com/index.php?section=freeware)
I've also included setupvoip.cab .. which is a fancier SIP setup tool, and may work better than sipconfig... but I used sipconfig originally, so that's what I'm writing up here.
2) Restart your phone
3) Run sipconfig ... enter all of your sip configuration details, and also use the menu option to enable VOIP over 3G if you desire it.
4)Now go start -> settings -> personal -> Phone. Choose ther Internet Calling tab. Set the option for "whenever available".
5)On the main/Today screen you will see a phone icon with description VOIP ( you entered name of provider VOIP in (step 4). It'll show you the status of whether or not it has registered with SIP. A Hint, you might need to trick the phone into connecting to 3G first... e.g. by browsing the web... otherwise WM6 at least doesn't seem to auto-connect to 3G for SIP.
6) After connecting using 3G or wifi, You will see the status displayed as VOIP: Available.
7) You can now make calls as normal, or receive calls in.. and everything is routed through VOIP.
8) You'll notice that many WM phones will route the audio through the rear speaker (annoying) .. which is why you installed audio router from teksoft... it adds a little icon on your top system tray to let you change between earpiece and rear speaker for audio. There's a bunch of audio switchers out there. This is the best one by a mile. And it actually works.
Cheers,
Andrew Eross
Thanks for your effort. Similar tool is already posted as Schap - Setup voip Tool -
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=1364611
Thank you!!!
I've looked around for a guide as clear as yours. You've the best guide all around... Thank you a bunch...
Thanks for your great job. I new on Windows Mobile so I need a lot this kind of help.
I download and followed your installation procedure on a HTC 3G+, T3238 (chinese version of the HTC 3G, manufacturer HTY Taiwan)
Works well, Hope others also will be successfull
By the way, is there an also simple way to sending DTMF tones for remote control of my answering machine? When I try to send numeric keys after the call is connected it looks like I start a new connection with numbers actually for remote control of my answering machine.
Hi, I'm also in the club that has browsed hundreds of post looking for a setup of VOIP and also looking for a solution on good incoming sound level when using Voip on phone. Your files solved all my problems!
Phone: HTC HD2 Norwegian with Rom 1.66. Use the Norwegian company www.iplink.no for VOIP at home / office and (now) on my mobile phone.
Made my own ipdialplan.xml which can be found attached to this post.
Done some testing calling people through Voip: after approx 1 minute the connection falls down. I looks like I'm still connected to the other part (interface shows that a call is going on) but none of us can hear the other part. I then have to cancel the call in the phone interface. Make new call to same person, after approc minute the connection goes down again...
Is there some kind of registry setting that controls this "timeout"?
Hi, this tools does work also on windows mobile 6.5?
I know that on the HTC Fuze some of the wmvoip.cab installs breaks the GPS - anyone test this yet?
THanks!
does this work on hd2
I've done everything you said, but I can't find the option to show internet calling is available. I have Kumar 1.5 installed, and am about to try another ROM (maybe Laurentis, the SIP drivers are cooked in). What are you running?

Best Voip All in one solution. Try This

I tried last night to no avail. I am guessing that using a WM6.5.x ROM stops me, because I can't access the right settings (start-settings-personal-home or phone) because my settings button takes me straight to the black screen of text version. I even tried to go to a 6.5 ROM (cooked with VOIP drivers in), and even then I couldn't get the VOIP phone icon to appear on the today screen. Every time I selected it from the Internet tab in the setting, it would just ignore my changes.
I would love to get this working with a nice cooked 6.5.x ROM, and am not giving up yet, but man is this frustrating. As a side note, I am learning lots about the workings of WM.

thanks for the reply. i have also installed i was able to receive incoming call but unable to make outgoing call. are you able to make outgoing call?
Okay, I feel like an idiot, but I figured out how to enable the internet calling tab on my HD2. I am still apparently learning lots about WM6.5. After I disabled Sense, I could add tabs to the today screen. I did everything right, but the voip tab just either says searching or not active. And it somehow disabled my data connection. Not sure anymore, almost through trying ROMs. Is everyone else running this on a stock ROM, or are there certain features that interfere with this?
VOIP almost working
I've implemented Internet Dialing and have SIP configured my my provider and I am able to receive calls. But, I notice that when I dial out a "9" is put in front of the number I'm dialing making it impossible to dial a number correctly. How can I change this?

You need to edit your ipdialplan.xml. It's in your windows directory. Basically it is set up by default to dial a 9 and in area code 425... If you look at it you should see where to edit it... There's also a utility knocking about here to set up a basic one for other countries...
Can't svae ipdialplan changes
I can open Total Commander find the file and make the changes to ipdialplan.xml by taking the "9" out of the 10 digit plan and the 7 digit plan, but I can't save the changes. I get "Error, could not create file" every time.
It's either open or write protected. Edit on the PC. Copy it over with a different extension. Rename the original, and then rename the new one to the right name.....
I have this very strange problem.
I have tried to install all this, but it works only partially.
Outgoing calls work and the receiving party can hear me. However, I don't hear them. Also, on incoming calls my phone doesn't respond at all.
Does anyone have any idea what is the problem?
I'm having a Topaz @ WM65.
