Compact Framework Error (MissingMethodException) - Touch Dual, MDA Touch Plus General

Hello!
Today, ive played around with my Touch Dual a bit. I tried to get TrackMe working, and since it required Compact Framework 3.5, i installed that too.
However, after some troubles getting Compact Framework 3.5 to install, i finally just removed both Trackme and Compact Framework.
However, now when i boot up the phone, i get a MissingMethodException with SlideMon.exe (SlideActions). I know SlideActions requires CF2.0, so i installed that, with and without Service Pack 2. DIdnt help either.
The error I get is:
SlideMon.exe
MissingMethodException
....
Microsoft.WindowsMobile.Status,
Version=1.0.0.0, Culture=neutral,
PublicKeyToken=31BF3856AD364E35
....
(Error message in Norwegian, but its regarding an object or dependency not found etc)..
Any help would be really appreciated!

HELP: Re-Installing VBScipt on a Vario

All Games / Apps using Visual Basic seem to have stopped working.
Shortcuts to *.vb links get the error:
"There is no application associated with ...... Run the application first, then open this file from within the application."
Other files get the error:
Error : 0x80040154
(Cannot open VBScript)
Is there anyway I can reinstall the Visual Basic runtimes on my Vario without doing a full factory reset.
Logic says there must be a way.
I do not want to do a reset and lose all saved texts, MMS, contacts and all the software I have installed.
Appologies if this post is in the wrong place or has been asked before.

well, I have more or less the same problem, there seems to be a problem with the installation of the eVb runtime on WM5, even thouhg I succeeded once...But the webmaster of http://www.omnisoft.com seems to have found a way of bypassing these limitations, I haven't found the time to test his solution yet. Let's say that the firts to try lets the other one know how it worked out.
Any idea how they bypassed these limitations or how I can get hold of them.
Anyone else got any links / guides to this problem.
I have two Varios and one MDA Compact to fix this problem on so far and I really dont want to do a hard reset.
It seems that the main problem is not the scripting engine itself which installs just fine. It has to do with the various ActiveX controls (MSCE*.dll) that are not registered when you install the runtime, but are requested by most apps to function properly. Basically, the post on omnisoft.com explains what entries you have to enter manually in the registry to register these controls.
By the way, what setup did you use to install the runtime?
I used the W2003
VBScript just stoped working inc games/apps I downloaded + minor apps I wrote with Forward Pass.
I did not install the runtime, it was in ROM.
That is why I may have to do a hard reset.
Is there any link to the post on omnisoft.com?
Doesn't Microsoft have any VB runtime install that will fix this? It is their OS.

framework errors on a stock HTC Touch HD rom ?

Hi there,
Has anyone got the same errors like when you try to start TrackMe or other Compact .Net framework based applications ?
It says something like Method missing... No better luck if I reinstall the Framework
Error message is (translated from the french):
file or assembly called "System.Data.SqlServerCE, version=3.5.0.0, Culture = neutral" is missing
I have the same, any solution out there ?
Make sure you install SQLce too
(in the meantime, I switched from blackstone to a G1)

Software Install "unsuccessful" Errors

Okay, I've been playing with my new Rhodium quite a bit-- and I keep encountering a number of "Installation of ____ was unsuccessful" errors when installing various programs that worked on my original AT&T Tilt.
The perfect example was just now when I tried to install "Resco Explorer 2008 Trial" from the cab file off their website. I've also encountered this type of error when installing total commander and a number of others on skyler17's "Software worth installing on the TP2" post. I've hard re-set a number of times with the same results. Yet, only a few others like Skype & Swype install just fine.
Are the errors a publisher certificate issue with WinMo 6.5?
Any ideas of how to work around these errors?
My current device info--
Phone: AT&T Tilt 2 (HTC Rhodium)
ROM: Stock, AT&T 1.59.502.5 (67150) (9/25/09)
Radio: 4.48.25.50
Thank you for your help!
Note: The only "advance" thing I've done is flash the "Rhodium-HardSPL_V2_00R3_185HSPL", but I'm still running the stock AT&T Rom. (The stall in me flashing a new ROM is mainly b/c I'm having trouble finding a full stock AT&T copy to re-flash in case I don't care for some of the cooked ROMs-- but that's another issue...).
Okay, how about this-- Is anyone else have these issues or is it just my device?
I'm having it but only on one application I am trying to install.
It states that it doesn't have authorised permissions or something like that. All the other apps can be installed normally though.

I have the AT&T Tilt 2
stock ROM 1.59.502.3 (67150) WWE 09/25/09
Radio 4.48.25.20
Have applied the same "Rhodium-HardSPL_V2_00R3_185HSPL" without issue, and also have not yet changed up my ROM. I have tweaked the TF3D though.. applied Co0kieMonster's HQ wallpaper patch and using HDWall. Installed (removed, installed, etc) numerous applications without incident other than a warning the cab's are unsigned, they let me install and work just fine, though.
.
Okay-- I figured it out.
The software installations issues were from an older Microsoft .NET Compact Framework (v2.0.7045.00) that the AT&T Tilt2 comes with.
Why the Tilt 2 is not shipped with the newer MS .NET Compact Framework (v3.5.7283.00) is beyond me. The real challenge was getting the new .NET to fully install & run properly. After a bunch of reading-- here is the proper way to get it to work.
To install Microsoft .NET Compact Framework 3.5 on your device:
1. Download .NET Compact Framework 3.5 from Microsoft
2. Run the downloaded MSI file and let it install.
3. Connect your device to Activesync/Windows Mobile Device Center and finish the automatically launched installation on your device.
4. Soft reset your device. (this is a must)
5. Open a Registry editor and navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\.NETCompactFramework where you will see two entries for the (now two) existing version references: the old one, which came with your device and the new one you just installed.
6. Change the DWord value of 3.5.7283.00 from 0 to 1 (thus enabling it) and all the other values (i.e.: 2.0.7045.00) from 1 to 0 (thus disabling it/them).
7. Soft reset your device.
8. Congratulations! You have upgraded to .NET Compact Framework 3.5.
Thank you pocketnow.com for the guide.
Advanced Configuration Tool v3.3 now runs as well as all my other software I was having trouble installing/running.
Here is the Registry Editor 0.9 beta I used (free from TouchXperience.com)
Hopefully this will help other with software installation issues and other users having difficulty installing Microsoft .NET Compact Framework 3.5.

Problem with .NET CF 3.5 contained in ROM

Hi guys,
recently my HD2 just didn't want to work anymore. Basically it was "on" and plugged via USB to my computer and when I came back by some time, it was completely "off". I tried to activate it but did not succeed to get further then the white screen, whatever I tried.
Result: hard reset.
As I saw that there is an official ROM which was newer than mine I downloaded 1.66er ROM from htc.com.
Everything wet well until I wanted to start Task Fascade. TF tells me: "For this application is a newer version of the Microsoft .NET Compact Framework required" (translated from german to english)
Okay, easy go, I downloaded the 3.5er version of the .NET framework and tried to install the CAB but the installer complains too:"The .NET Compact Framework-Version you are trying to install is already contained in the ROM" (message has also been translated from german to english)
Now I was confused, obviously the 3.5er version is already installed. So I did some search and found (once more) help on this page: forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=583638
13. Install Compact Net Framework 3.5 to Make Old Apps Work Again
Some apps you may have used on another phone will not work on the Leo unless you install Compact Net Framework to your phone. Download the cab from the following link and install to Device only - not Storage Card and then reset. [...] Also make sure your phone is using the 3.5 as default and not 2.0. Go here: HKLM/Software/Microsoft/.NETCompactFramework. Change the DWORD data of entry 2.0.7045.00 from 1 to 0. Next Change the DWORD data of entry 3.5.7283.00 from 0 to 1 and then reset. This disables 2.0 and enables 3.5. Also some apps need the file NETCFv35.Messages.EN.wm. Here is the link to download the file: [...] Install the NETCFv35.Messages.EN.wm.cab to device after you installed NETCFv35.wm.armv4i.cab and reset.
Click to collapse
I did everything I could and double checked the registry entries, rebooted several times but achieved nothing. TF still says the .NET version is too old and the 3.5 installer complains that 3.5 is already installed.
I need some help now
