We do not know yet...
Offical rom does not overwrite hard-spl.
u need a sspl to come back. olipro would provide that.

Hi Olipro,
We know hard-spl is the best on our device, but for example in Hungary service said not offical software component (for example hard-spl) void warranty...
When I took my Triniy to service, I had to restore the offical base...(ipl, spl, os, radio).
But of course if everything works, hard-spl stays on pda!

run the Hard-SPL updater, as soon as it puts your phone in bootloader and asks you to replug USB... DON'T... wait for the RUU on the PC to timeout and exit, NOW replug the USB, flash a normal ROM.

I tried the method exactly what oli said...it is not working
Could you try it too?
I tried but also stuck at 14% and stucks in bootloader after each reset
I've tried it a hundred times and it does'nt work. Might as well forget it. The procedure just suck and we're not even getting a decent reply except being sweared at.

Well, I'd hop back into the bootloader screen and reflash your carrier ROM. Then read over these instructions a couple more times and try again.
Also, before we get ahead of ourselves, what ROM did you try flashing in the first place?

actually i just figured that out on my own. but i appreciate you answering.
i was trying to flash the touch version of nbd when this happened using those exact instructions from mun's thread.
i'm scared now lol.
i'm going to try the windows titanium rom now.

No reason to worry too much. The Titanium ROM is "G4 safe" (it has no IPL/SPL or radio). Just read those instructions I linked to previously and don't skip any steps and you'll be fine.

If it is a hardware problem, you can't fix it. Need to ship it back to the manufacturer can replace it, if you're still under warranty. Maybe you can try to flash it back to the stock rom and test it before doing anything.

what "Unlock" are you talking about? If you talking about the sim unlock, which allows you to use any GSM carrier, then yes, it will be lost. But if you talking about hardSPL, then no. The original stock rom just like any cook rom, you can flash any herald rom

A friend of mine bought a used Htc TOUCH ELF last week..
He wants to flash the new HSPL 3.10..
I flashed new SPL (or HSPL) everytime a new one came out, so I don't know if my friend could flash directly the latest one (having at the moment IPL 1.11.0002 / SPL 1.11.0000...)...
EDIT 30/07/08: As confirmed by eshield (http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...9&postcount=96), Elf owners can directly upgrade the IPL/USPL.
EDIT 06/09/08: Directly upgrading IPL/USPL in one go may or may not work for all of Elf owners (if the Elf is pre-release or old one). If your phone (Elf only) is stuck at Smart mobility screen with IPL 2.26, SPL 2.26, try downgrading the IPL to 1.19 or 1.17.

I start upgrading STEP by STEP...
When I'm going to flash SPL from 1.17 to 2.27, following the instructions, the screen doesn't become BLANK, but it shows me the three colours (bootloader mode) screen....
I brake the flashing procedure because my screen wasn't blank...
Should I go on flashing it in this way, or maybe I should retry untill the screen turns blank?

You should continue, in my case it was the same, after bootloader the screen turns blank and then the scale goes from 1 to 100% and then it's finished, like I said you may have to do this again if it fails

EDIT: successfuly flashed SPL 2.27...
I solved the problem above repeating the procedure regarding SPL flashing...
Now... Should I try to flash the latest SPL 3.07?
Currently my IPL is 2.07? Should I upgrade it too?

ive tried everything i flashed my hd 2 using hspl but im still unable to update rom, its a vod htc hd 2 but its unlocked and unbranded and how i said earleir i used hspl to flash and it was succesful but im stil strugling to update this bastard...so pls help and im sorry if im asking for help in the wrong topic...pls help guys i would be very grateful

Please give a little more detail. You installed hspl, did you check that it is installed? (Power off, power on with down volume pressed) it should read
1.42.HSPL
if it worked.
If it says 1.42.0000 then it isn't installed.
How did you flash the new rom? did you use an sd card, or run from the pc?
Also, if you have already ''flashed using hspl'' did you not then add a new rom? Do you mean you have istalled HSPL and not yet flashed a new rom?

no worries...Yes im using my pc (win xp), and when i tried to flash it, i get an error after the screen that wants me to check that my batery is over 50 % etc...i'm realy frustrated i realy want a new rom...and i looked every.. i can't seem to find a reason..thanks for helping out...if you could help me ill gladly donate smthin for u guys

its gonna sound rubbish but i had a trojan that didnt let me do it.....i laughed for 5 min straight ... im not realy a noobie when it comes to tinkering with phones...thank you for ur time maybe this info will help others with the same problem

I just received my HTC HD2 from repair. And it work good again.
But now its got SPL 3.03. And i want to install android on it.
I tyrd to install 2.08 but he hangs on 0%. I also tryd MAGLDR 1.11 and 1.13 because i heared you need 2.08 OR higher to install android.
But also MAGLDR hangs on 0%.
I also tryd to go to the official HTC site and download roms. But if i put my serial it says it is not compatible with my device.
So my question how can i fix this or can i downgrade somehow.

Hello sir; MAGLDR 1.11 and 1.13 needs HSPL 2.08.
But HSPL and spl 3.03 isn't compatible. so the only thing you can do is to downgrade first your stock ROM.
Can you communicate us/me your actual stock ROM version 3.14.XXX.x? so that we are able to help you provide a earlier stock ROM (in case it is available)

Can you help me to downgrade mine?. I got SPL-3.03.00000 and ROM 1.66.412.1 (76641) ESN, where can I find stock ROM to downgrade? If there is some to downgrade the method is as normal?

The error you mention is probably provide by a incompatible aria ROM, ore you have a branded device.
Try to download the stock rom from the HTC webpage by using YOUR S/N ons you have this, communicate me the right stock ROM version that match your device so that i can look fore the previous one.

By using my S/N I can not download any ROM, it says Serial number not valid, its a Spanish Movistar phone

Okay, I have bean looking around on all servers I know; but unfortunately
the only official Leo Telefonica stock ROM what is bean store is the 3.14
The 1.64.xxx Telefonica stock ROM in't bean saved.

Ok, I go for it now, I wont use my 8 GB SD card, I have a 2 Gb for WII, I backup this one and Ill use it.... lets cross fringers
