I've heard that the Orbit can be navigated like an iphone? (flicking through windows like page etc) Is this correct and if so how is it acheived?

I just got this little monster a few day ago and I have been trying to make it lighter (software side). I have read many posts about the bloated WM5 and how a Vario I or even a WM2003 Pocket PC/Smartphone outperforms the Vario II (TyTn) in many tasks. First I was all for the "make the Today screen full of useful stuff", but I realized the mistake of doing that... your device crawls almost to a stop. So now I am going for the simplicity aproach, leave all the functionality in the start menu.
First things first... what software or files can be safely deleted or uninstaled from the device? (Including Windows folder). for example I will never use PowerPoint mobile, Excel mobile and I dont "push" any email. I don't even have Outlook in my computer (too many risks and the mobile does not recognize that I use Thurderbird). I would also prefer if the mobile did not start up Activesync by itself, but only after I connected it to the computer. In a final note, this are the contents of my startup directory:
elatepushservice
poutlook
sddaemon
services
Do I need all those files? What is poutlook and elatepushservice?
Any tips to make the mobile faster in any way?
Does anybody know how to make the internet work on the wing like it does on the iphone. The iphone scrolls within the web pages. Are there any app available that will allow the same scrolling as the iphone on windows mobile

And just for a heads up...you are in the Wizard section which is different from the Wing which (I believe, if memory serves) is the Herald.
I'm using the Orange France version of the TD and I seem to have a problem when browsing with PIE, it's not showing mobile sites like my other PDAs and notable the TyTn II, case in point : the mobile version of eBay http://wap2.bonfiremedia.com/ebayserver/servlet/Controller?Command=WapMainMenu that shows as pure text and doesn't work properly as a result, when the TyTn II shows pretty much like IE or FFox with the picture and formatted menus.
Anyone seen that problem before? I tried tweaking the User Agent with Kaiser Tweak or PIEPlus but no go :-(

Do a search for ifonz... Skin your Hermes today screen to iphone like ui.
Do a search and a lot of reading as the initial setup can be time consuming but once there its good. Also would be a good idea to use some backup software , I use spb backup 2.0.1, as it is a hassle to have to setup again if a HR is needed...

- I'd like to try many kinds of software before I am installing into my Jasjam.
- I'd like to try to cook something... (Maybe)
How Can I Try those on PC first ?

There is not an emulator specific to the Hermes hardware, but you can get a Windows Mobile device emulator from Microsoft.
Has nothing to do with Hermes Mobile 6. Moved to Hermes.
