Hi all.
I'm user of Typhoon (ETEN) M500 device with Windows Mobile 2003.
I flashed bad firmware and now I have only bootmode working correctly.
I asked someone who has the same device to dump rom with testdump.
Now I want replace original ETEN M500 firmware with files from Typhoon dump in order to start my device.
Is there any tool to do it with?

I did a cooked rom in one of the kitchens using a T-mobile ROM. I don't like the look or feel, don't have a linux machine so cannot use the special edition ROM.
My problem is my backup is corrupt and now I have created a new ROM in the yorch.net kitchen and downloaded Siemens ROM from their site and when I go to install it it says my SX 56 is not connected even though I look at active sync and everything works fine.
What can I do? :?:
You need to slow down and be more descriptive. Yorch does not have ATT's ROM on his site. How did you upgrade? Did you use an .exe or the OSToolset or the SD Card method? Take it one step at a time. How did your backup get corrupted?
I used the T-mobile or yorch's site to cook a new rom, I have been trying to unlock the phone and thought maybe that would give me something that the unlocker would work with.
I upgraded with an .exe
I backed up to an SD Card and when I shutdown my laptop while on the road some security program andjusted the file son the card so now I cannot restore.
I have tried using another ROM from the kitchen and the one from Siemens website upgrade and both times when I try to install I'm told there is no connection to my laptop. But I can see active sync working and saying it's connected.
Just get the 3.02 ROM from the kitchen, use the OSToolset to put it on an SD Card, and install it using the SD Card method. You won't need to have an active connection to your computer then.
Where do I find a kitchen with that rom for the ATT SX56?
I cannot access Jeff's & Yorch's site only has the newer T-Mobile and the PPC2003.
You will not find the Original SX56 ROM by itself. If you want to go back, download the old O2 3.02 ROM, install it, and then run the newest ROM upgrade from ATT.
I can use the O2 rom on a 900/1900 system? excuse me for my ignorance, but I don't want to fry my machine as this is my third one and I really want this one to work, long story.
As long as you don't update the radio stack of your device you are pretty much free to try any ROM you want. However, the intention is NOT to use the O2 ROM for anything other than having an old ROM on your device that the SX56 ROM you download from ATT will recognize as updatable. Hence, you will be able to put back the SX56 2002 ROM. As always, anything you do is at your own risk.
Thanks, I got it working and sombody gave me an image of the XDA developer rom for my unit and now it is unlocked and works great.
I would like to flash my mda vario with the qtek rom, to solve the issue with the device resetting itself due to having a sd card installed, and to generally speed things up etc. I have visited the wizard ftp site on here, and navigated to the qtek folder, but there are about a million files listed. I am currently a UK user running an mda vario with t-mobile. Which file should I use? Once I have the correct file how do I then install it to my device? After the update will I be able to restore my previous files and settings with my SPB backup file?
Thanks!
bump
as a newbie myself maybe i can lend you a hand.
first of all...in order for you to flash your mda to other rom, you need to sim and cid unlock ur phone. then you download the latest ROM with WWE to your desktop.
connect your wizard to your pc via activesync 4.1, make sure your device is fully charge at all time. after you have sim/cid unlock ur phone, soft reset your device. then run the ROM exe file and follow on screen instruction.
before you start unlock and flasing ur phone, please use the search function and try to look for step by step instruction. thats wht i have done for a few days and manage to flash my mda vario with the latest qtek rom and a custom radio rom. cant say how happy i am with the phone now.
This is the latest qtek wwe rom ftp://xda:[email protected]/Wi...digy_2170702_21707102_20710_QTEK_WWE_Ship.exe
with spb backup no you will not be able to do a full restore because it will overwrite the registry etc..
Do a custom backup and tick all boxes except system data
I wanna to backup my current official ROM before I upgrade it to WM6.
I'm using MTTY VER1.11a,I don't know the command for dumpping ROM to microSD card. when I using "r2sd all", MTTY says:"Invalid command : r2sd all", do anyone know how to dump the ROM from artemis? thanks a lot.
original rom for your arte device is digitally signed when you flash it into device. since it is installed on device, there is no signature of course.
if you dump your rom, you will get unsigned rom, which normally will not flash (without uspl) .
there is more simple way of doing what you want - you need to have original rom for your device handy, before flashing. search forum and you will find rom for your device

you mean how to flash ROM via SDCart ???
There is no other way to update the phone except using the supplied BIN files. You cannot use these files for any other method than MTTY "l" (load) command. You do not need a memory card for the update.
hello
how exactly i do this? how do i flash/install this rom or whatever ti is?
Please read the relevant threads that advertise the ROM to load. They describe the whole process, including the use of the MTTY program.
Hi.
