has anyone removed WMP from a rom without having issues?
If so, how?
Actually, I already tried it. WM platform is dependent on it, just like Windows is dependent on IE. You can't remove it completly. If you remove it, you'll loose ringtones support, etc - as you must have already noticed.
You can upgrade it tho. I'm assuming you want to replace it with another movie/music player. That's a no go.

Back in my PPC2003SE days I used Green Softwares all the time and loved it. However, as far as I can tell only Alarm Clock has been updated sufficiently enough to work properly with WM5. So I am looking for a FREE task manager/launcher with the same, or better functionality as GSPocketMagic.
I have already switched to using Total Commander/CE as a replacement for GSFinder+.
Speaking of GSFinder+...I activated the "Network" folder and now I can not get rid of it. Does anyone know of a way to do that? I have already tried deleting it with TC/CE and with GSFinder plus, and with my Mac but no it seems to have some kind of protection. I am being to think it is actually a registry setting that I need to change.
Also, is there any solution for controlling WMP from Today, like PHM used to make possible? I do not want to take up more internal storage by installing another player (I already have TCPMP) that has this functionality included. Or is it possible to remove/delete WMP using a .cab like with msmessenger? I really hate WMP but I need all of the internal storage I can retain.
Thanks in advance for the help.
I am one of the apparent few that believes PIE works better on the Wing than Opera Mobile or Mini, so I stick with it. I do, however, have two questions:
1. Does anyone know how to change the default location that streams are saved to (.pls, .ram, etc.) when opened in media player from PIE? the default is My Documents, but I'd like to change it to the Storage Card if possible. There has to be a reg key somewhere that handles this, right? I don't know, maybe it would make the stream run worse, but I was just wondering if it was possible.
2. Does anyone know how to make PIE (or Opera Mobile, for that matter) believe I have Flash installed? I do have it installed, but sites that I attempt to stream radio from keep insisting that I don't.
Thanks!
Anyone have pocketmusic playe for wm6.5? it worked ok on wm6 , think its the best player as wmedia plyr not so good
why don't you install your old wm6 version, should also work with wm6.5 or didn't you back it up? if you installed it over the pc, have a look into "c:\windows\windows mobile\" (vista & 7) or in "c:\program files\activesync\" (xp). for all installs made from the pc, there is still a cab stored there.
in case that is not what you meant, but you tried and it didn't work, i can't offer you help there, i never tried that player, because it's expensive and there is still tcpmp which does the job just fine for free.
in case you asked for the cab, because you don't have it anymore or never had it, i can give you the direct link to the trial version -=here=- and the link to the -=manufacturer's site=-, where you can buy it and activate it.
be careful with posts like that, it could easily have been mistaken for a warez request, since you didn't exactly phrase what you wanted, but i'm pretty sure it was one of the 3 legit possibilities above
hi thanks used old backed up copy, tcmp i also have that, just trying nitrogen now, do u know is there any way u can get rid of windows media player just to free up storage as i noticed the upgrade takes up more space? ive had to put some stuff on the storage card as in memory my storage total capacity is only 60mb & program total 90mb , i guess thats ba limitations unless theres a way to increase it thanks
those are the hardware limitations, 60.30mb is the maximum storage space you have. leaving out wmp in a rom would reduce the rom's size but not increase the storage space, that space would be wasted, and as rom space is 32mb, it is included in all the roms.
This has been covered multiple times with no solution, so I decided to cook my own ROM using oskitchen.
I took tmous's stock ROM which supports zune pass through wmp, imported it, and recompiled right away without taking anything out. To my dismay, wmp was unable to sync my songs.
Could it be (has to be?) the building process that somehow messes up how drm works in wm 6.5? Any insights?
no one? :/
OK, so now have gone Android with an Orange San Francisco and rather than resign the Touch2 to Room101, I would like to use it to connect to my amp to enable easy access to my music files.
This needs to be quick to make it worth while.
So I currently have it running through WMP with no sim and everything switched off to maximise battery life, with all my music files on the microSD.
To make this work well, I need to do several things, some of which may have been done already.
Ideally I want to minimize the number of buttons/screen touchs. So I want to get all the crap off the first home screen and just go straight into my library.
If this isn't easily done, can I just have WMP, or whatever you recommend as the best media player as the only icon, as this is all I will use.
Also, can I enlarge the library font as I don't want messing about with the stylus if I can avoid it.
Any help/suggestions will be gratefully appreciated.

Jon
