I flashed to the most recent DCD, and everything seems fine, except when the screen goes off the power button will not turn it back on. Suggestions anyone.?? I appreciate it in advance. Meanwhile I'll be reading up on it. Details: I used 1.6.10: 01-15-08 CE OS 5.2.1622 Build 18128.0.4.4 along with Radio 1.40.00 and that is it.

This is usually a symptom of a mismatch amongst the unlocker, ROM, and radio. All must be of the "new" level or all must be of the "old" level. Do you have the proper combination?
Also - does this problem occur EVERY time or just occasionally? I found that after I installed DCD 2.2.3 - I had problems with "X-Button" hogging up memory. Removed it and I'm fine. When that occured, if I shut off, sometimes it wouldn't turn back on.
On occasion, if I've had a lot of apps running, and hit the power button, it won't power backup. Memory related. Also happens if I happen to do a mail send/recieve and have PIE open & downloading a page. Also memory related.
Check your memory stats prior to hitting that little button and see where things are at.

Hay,
I'm using i-mate jasjar, and since day 1 (bought it sep 2005) i've had the problem of slow wakeup and generally slow response. I've run suggested apps such as pocket mechanic etc to remove duplicate wake-up hooks etc, with only slight effect. I've tried several ROMs, none better than the other... I have no extra software installed (i don't want to make it slower than it already is!)
*From i hit a button till the device is (awake) accepting commands takes 10-20 secs...
*From someone starts ringing till my phone is awake enough to start ringing takes 8-10 seconds. clicking the answer button takes another 5+ seconds.
*Dialing is slow (pressing numbers), i suspect it's the DTMF .wav files that take time to load. If i dial too fast, the order of keys pressed are messed up! (say i dial 1-2-3-4, phone takes 4-5 seconds to react, then types 1-2-4-3)
*When i have the usb on, and screen is on, from i click start button, it takes 5-10 seconds before it's displayed. I've tracked this down to a problem reading the icons of certain programs.. any fix for this?
I'm using rom 1.30.76(ext .164), radio 1.09.
This is the latest i-mate rom.
Is my device faulty or is this normal behaviour? Should i try another ROM? Is there any unbranded *good* ROMs out there?
please help,
Michael
VERY abnormal! I had same issue. Solved it here:

Hope it's the same thing for you. If not, work HARD on ID'ign what's on the SD card - and do my test I descroibe with the SD card removed - I bet you see an immediate improvmeent.
Try this
"HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\StorageManager\FATFS\"
Change "CacheSize" value from "0" naar "4096".
"HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\StorageManager\FATFS\CacheSize=0x1000(4096)"
Change "EnableCache" value to "1"
"HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\StorageManager\Filters\fsreplxfilt\"
Change "ReplStoreCacheSize" value to "4096"
disable the 3D phone skin and use the default one it dont has the feature where when typing in a number thats already in the phone book will show . it also looks flat . but its fast .check wiki registry hacks for it . if that dont work install the latest o2 rom with out o2 crap apps then get sktools use sktools and config divise to proformance. trust me it will make your divice fast as wip.
faster than all cooked roms on here
Hi again,
cragiecragie4, I tried removing SD card, no improvement whatsoever on speed.
niketkumar, I tried the cache registry changes, no improvements.
tattootroy, I've run several performance optimizing programs but none make it for the better. What makes this app different?
I still suspect my device may be faulty or bugged, since my friend's device appears faster...
The old I-mate rom was alot faster than the current one, but i don't want to downgrade radio and functionality etc...
Any ROM suggestions?
I'm using the ROM covered here - seems good.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=279258&page=1
Done a LOT of installation and work after basic re-flash, but overall I havn't found any bugs at all (despite what others complain about). Sorry, except that the .NET CF2.0 is badly installed.
Did you run my test? Remember that if you remove SD it will still be slow once, then fast thereafter. Did you work thro it properly. I SOOO had your symptoms, and was so pissed with the whole thing I was about to reflash - then I found that this was definitely the issue.

I am certain it is not the latest EnergyROM. You have the 19 Oct Build which was full of problems including the one you have. Unfortunately NRGZ28 hasn't updated the change logs so it appears that 19 Oct is the latest. In fact there have been two updates, 21 Oct and 25 Oct. Go to his download link and you will find these builds. Both are excellent builds. I am using the 21 Oct build which is just about flawless IMHO
Hint: It often pays to subscribe to a thread related to your specific ROM so that you can receive email news about any problems that are cropping up. The problem you have was being reported almost hourly shortly after the ROM was released on 19 Oct.

Sounds like your power button itself may be faulty or its constantly pressing down, possibly jammed down. See if you can manually lift it slightly

His problem is with the power settings (shows battery charge remaining) popping up. If the power button is jammed down, wouldn't that just bring up the shut down screen?
I am a die-hard EnergyROM user, so I am pretty sure he has the bug-ridden 19 Oct build where everyone was complaining about the power settings popping up. I believe NRGZ28 withdrew the build, it was so bad.

I stand corrected then
thank pal, i should stay more up to date i guess, thanks im flashing to the latest ROM now
Hello,
I will try to give maximum info because this is a big problem for me right now. My contract lasts for a while longer but my guarantee has expired a few months ago so I often get stuck when I need to make a call, or worse, when I am relying on the satnav on a motorway.
Sometimes (about 30% of the time), when I press the top button the screen turns off, but will not turn on again when I press the button again. The phone is still on- pressing the "home" button will still cause a vibration, and I can still answer calls on it.
This was before I did anything to the phone. Now my friend has helped me flash the phone with windows 6.5 (it says "energy" on start up if that helps you identify the version), and it is still doing the same thing, except now the colours are warped like when a computer goes into 256 mode when playing an old game.
Sometimes, the screen is upside-down, and mirror-flipped in the horizontal axis. This part really confuses me, because the touch screen response is not similarly affected. Hence pressing in one area shows up as a different area on the screen. (this happens on start up before the flash, and seems to happen randomly afterwards)
This also happened DURING the flashing process, which made things a little harder.
My current only known cure is to remove the battery, wait 30+ seconds and start it again. Sometimes when I do this I get an error message which looks like
"MicroSD mismatch"
or something similar. I cannot remember exactly because I cannot reproduce the message when I need to.
Is there anyone familiar with this issue, or anyone that can point me in the right direction?
Thanks very much,
Mike
It sounds like a ROM instability issue along with possible improper ROM upgrade flashing.
The whole thing with the colors as in 256 mode etc, could be due to not properly upgrading your ROM. The old ROM might have been a version 1.54 and the new ROM a version 1.56. If that is the case, you need to read this tutorial thread to take the proper steps in flashing. The extra steps are only needed once. After that, you can flash any 1.56 roms as much as you want without the "extra steps".
In the process of upgrading to a 1.56 ROM, I would recommend using a stock 1.56 ROM. After you are done, you can quickly flash the 1.56 ROM of your choice (from Energy, Dutty, MaryOne etc).
There have been extensive chats about that, so just trust me when I say that first flashing a stock ROM appears to properly clear all early data on the phone so that none of it is carried over to the next ROM flashed. In my opinion it is worth taking the extra 10 minutes to avoid possible annoyances later. Your problem with the phone screen staying black has been discussed in connection with several ROMs out there.
I personally use Dutty's Holy Grail R2 ROM with Cookie Monster Home Tab installed and I am very pleased with it.
That in no way means that other ROMs are bad. There are many talented ROM cooks out there and the Energy ROM is well-liked by many many people. I have simply been a Dutty fan for over a year.
I've tried 3 different roms and while in standby my phone freezes. The screen goes black and won't come back on, and eventually the buttons won't even light up. Is this a known issue or could I be doing something wrong? I am running all stock windows mobile.
Thanks in advanced.
should post this in the Android thread.
However, I'll give you my $0.02. I've noticed there is a lag in my build as well. Sometimes it won't seem to wake up. Often I just need to wait a bit and it wakes. I've read that two things can be causing this: 1) autorotate in android (you can turn off in settings, but I kinda like it) and wrong ROM. Peruse the 'droid threads for good ones, everyone likes Miri's.
This happens to me too. I've tried a few of the recent builds and when I put it on standby and wait 5 minutes I get a black screen and nothing but backlight.
EDIT: Reformated storage card and so far so good. Give this a shot
Been months since i last was on xda, is there a ****tional android rom now? SWEET! Where do I finde it, wasnt able to find anything by searchin on the forum.
Had same problem. And got solved after reflash my radio to 2.11.50.26_** and ROM to ChuckyROM GTX + CHT 1.8.5. Also formatted SDCard(so i also used a fresh android build).
So i would also suggest formatting your SDCard to FAT32
I formatted the SD and the problem remain. I noticed that (in my case) if i start android from WM Explorer, i dont have the problem. If i start android from Android Windows Boot, the phone freeze in standby. Give it a try, dont have to modify anything. Good luck!

How are you measuring the battery usage? Is this with just the ROM, or have you installed any apps?
Any ROM will consume a bit after the first boot, and will settle to 1 - 5 mA eventually unless something is wrong.
I have installed Current widget from the market.....

there's quite a few threads on "battery drain" in HD2 / Android forum, right now cannot provide you with links but you'll definitely find sth, via forum browsing, search or google in xda,
afair one of the chief reasons was GPS location turned on, also some ROM used to have problems with BT in standby, for starters disable all sync / comm / location functions, then check the current and if it's ok start turning them one by one, with a few minutes of standby in between
Battery solved, Black Screen
OK, thank you for your help. I manage to get power consumtion of 6mA in st-by eith "Transformers" version of android from this forum but now i have problems with wakeing up my phone. I will ask here to avoid opening new thread. When My phone goes to sleep it happens that i can't wake-up him. Lights on buttons get light, but screen remain black. Only solution is to remove the battery. My Phone info is as follows:
HTC HD2 T-Mobile
OS version: 5.2.21892
Manila version: 2.5.20121412.2
ROM Version: 2.13.531.1
ROM Date: 4/28/10
Radio: 2.10.50.26
SD Card is ScanDisk 2 16GB
Thank you for help and patience...
Does somebody knows the answer to my problem, please....

don't know which build you're using, mine is ACA (SD), in some of the older builds sth similar used to happen, but usually most of the SOD's were shallow, so I was able to get out of them waiting 5-10 seconds between each attempt of unlocking the device, either using power button, of home/menu combo,
what helped for some users was setting the min CPU in Set CPU or CM Settings up from 128 to 245
When I was using SD based builds I have problems with battery drain as well. To solve the problem, power off your phone, power it on while holding the vol. down button, then pull batt and turn it on again. Then boot into Android through Haret. It worked for me, but it got irritating when I had to do that quite often. In the end I just switched to NAND builds, and I never had problems with battery drain since.
O and just btw cyberx85, I think normally we use a 2.15.xxx radio for the HD2. You can try these links on how to get that on your HD2.

I will try that.... Thanks
