BT Headset disconnects - Touch Dual, MDA Touch Plus General

Hi Guys,
I'm experiencing a big problem with my BT headset.
I have a Nokia BH-900 that is one of the best HS I ever had, but sometimes when answering a call the headset disconnects and i need to answer with the send key on my phone.
Anyone have the same issue ?
Or... wich headset do you use at this time with no problems ?
Maybe it's something related to the headset hardware ?
I'm on NIKI Project WM6.1 rom, but I've had the same issue also with my original rom, from TIM Italy...
It seems that with the NIKIProject ROM the issue is more frequent...
I need some help please

i do not have any outage or conenction lost with my jabra bt500v. works smooth with all htc devices i used so far.
i am still using original de htc rom as i am waiting for oli pro to build his hard spl and netrunner to get his de rom up to speed ;-)

Thanks sackbauer!
Anyone else ?

look around about blue tooth power settings in the registry
i have see a lot of threads in the kaiser forum ... but i must search too -__-°

I know about the power settings, but the problem occours when I'm answering a call, even if the phone is not in standby...
I press the answer button on my headset and it lost connection with the phone... it seems shutted down.... then I have to press the power button on the headset to connect it again...
Sometimes I can start hearings the ringtone in the headset (an mp3) and then it suddently switches on the "nokia tone"
Maybe it could be something related to ad2p ?

BT reactivate alone after a call

Hi,
i noticed everytime i turn off bluetooth (in order to spare battery time) it reactivate itself alone after a call... is this normal ? does anybody else experience this problem ?
(ps : i have pocket bluetooth tools, but i don't think that s the problem... is it??)
Thanks for any help
It is, and its not a bug, its a feature Its so you can answer a call using your bluetooth headset.
If you dont have a headset its obviously useless to you, but PBT is not under development any more, so you kind of stuck with the way it works now, or to un-install it.
Surur
Ok. i just had to read in fact the guide http://www.bluetooth.jazztel.es/guide_e.html to see that it can turn it back to off if BT is not used after 60 seconds...that s a good idea
Too pity they stopped development, it helped me a lot in the set up of the BT for activesync via BT and for set up of BT GPS...
anyway, thanks for the hint. (it gave me the idea to look a little bit further
Have a nice day!
I use PBT and I use the 60 second feature. What I found with my o2 clip bt headset is that the headset seems to lose connection to the phone after a short while regardless of the 60sec rule. Sometimes it would happen just before receiving or dialing a number.
Very annoying.

Come on guys....
does that mean no one using this automatic pairing ?
'm still being postive on this thread
Cheers
I would be amazed if it was true, it would be a huge bluetooth security hole if it was !!! if you can force a headset to pair with out authentication you can force anything to pair !!! are you sure you understood correctly
Don't you mean that the sound was automatically sent to the headset when a call comes in? Automatic pairing is something I have never heard of. I guess the guy paired his headset, so that when a call comes in, he hears it autmatically in his headset. Sounds more logical and feasible to me.
Why would you want to pair automatically anyway? Just pair it in the morning when you wake up, and use it all day till you switch it off. Only thing I can imagine would be battery save, but that would mean that an incoming call would have to activate both the BT on your phone and on your headset. And that is not possible, since without BT connection ( paired) no signals from the phone come to the headset.
ice_coffee -- Though I didn't see the subtle details of the mentioned software i think we'll have to pair with our BT device (proper authentication) which will be saved by the program and these details wud be used as and when incoming call comes ....
Koksie -- ur intuition is correct ....i.e. reason to do this stuff is to save battery.... bluetoooth drains exec very rapidly.....
if none of you all seen that post then i should be dreaming :!:
i'll continue my search and update the thread if i'm successful
Thanks for your inputs guys....
Cheers
Pairing is pairing but turning bluetooth on for an incoming or outgoing call is something else. PockeZenPhone has this option but it doesn't work cause it takes to long to turn on bluetooth and connect the headset before loosing your call.
Oh.. not it make sense. I think what he means is that, you had your headset and phone paired (with code and stuff). However, the headset or phone bluetooth may be off. And once there is a call coming in, it will switch on the headset/bluetooth on phone.

bluetooth headset

When the headset is paired with the phone can I somehow receive a call on the phone and not on the headset or I should turn off the headset if I want to do that ?
Sorry if the answer is in the 2020 manual - didnt get it when I bought it
Thanks
If you want to answer the call with the PDA, you'd use the green button on the himalaya. If you don't press the control in the headset and get the call using the green button the audio comes out from the PDA and not from the headset.
I hope my poor english is understandable.
omg, yes I undesranded you perfectly, thanks
You just reminded me of my big problem once, somehow I ve changed digital clock to analog in the today screen. After some time I ve forget how did I do that and no matter of what I used to try clock remained analog. Digged thru the 2020 from alpha to omega, digged thru the registry... No luck. Utils, no luck. Clock remained analog.
Asked my friend, qtek user, about the problem. Guy clicked and holded the stylus on the clock for a few seconds. Menu appeared - digital or analog
Obviusly some simple solutions are not always visible to all of us
Thank you once more
ahh one more quickie please, if the headset is paired to the phone and Im a caller how can I talk to someone using the PDA not headset ?
thanks
BT headset (not work ;P )
Gosh.. I would like to have your problems... I can't turn on headset on BT... when I turn it on the headset connects once and after the connection there is no option to turn it on... only fisconnect of bluetooth and reconnect ;/

Answer without using bluetooth device

If I have a bluetooth device connected to my XV-6800, is there a setting or something I can do that will allow me to answer the phone with the call button on the phone, but have it connect to the bluetooth device? Right now if I hit the call button, it only goes through the phones speaker as if the bluetooth device was not connected. For me to answer a call using the bluetooth device, I have to hit the button on the bluetooth device.
Thanks,
Jeff
That's really strange. I know that I don't have the same phone as you (I have touch Elf). I have noticed this. When I have my device connected to bluetooth headset or my handsfree car kit, I can still hit the green call button to anser the phone when I get a call and the call is still transmitted to my bluetooth. I can even still make a call by hitting the green call button, dialing the number and still all through bluetooth.
It sounds like your device is not associating properly with the bluetooth device. Go into your bluetooth settings and check to make sure that you are connected properly for hands free - Go to settings - bluetooth and click on your device to make sure that hands free is checked.
I have also noticed that on a rare occasion, my bluetooth does not connect properly and although paired, does not transmit and sound did come through phone when it shouldn't have. To fix this, I did a soft reset and all was good. It happened to me about three times since I bought the phone in Dec 2007.

The bluetooth is properly connected. When I make a call and hit the green call button, it does go through the bluetooth device. It is only when answering a call it does not go through the bluetooth device when I hit the green call button. Yes, very strange. Oh well, I was hoping somebody might have some insight.

What radio and Windows ROM are you using? I know that some of the different ones fixed some BT issues. When my headset is connected it always goes to my headset no matter what I push. Sometimes I have it in my pocket and forget and then can't hear anything on the phone. I believe you can force it to go to your headset after answering the call though.

I am currently using DCD 3.2.6 with radio 3.37.75. To be honest I am not sure I have tried it with this combination. But, I have had the problem with a DCD rom, I just don't remember which radio.
My phone has always bypassed the bluetooth earpiece if I press the answer button on the phone and not the button on the earpiece. It did it from day one with the stock verizon rom and it still does it with my custom dcd rom.
I like the option of bypassing the earpiece to answer a call, especially in a crowd. Also I have the incoming calls announced thru the earpiece. This allows me to know who is calling without even looking at the phone or touching it to answer it thru the earpiece.
This is my insight on this. I hope this helps.
Are you using Voice Command? Is the sound very low?

Mine operates the same way. I don't beleive this is a "flaw", and may vary by type of bluetooth device being used. OP is looking for a way to override this setting / feature if anyone knows. Personally, I like the option of taking it on the phone for privacy reasons as my BT device is through the car speakers.

I agree, I don't necessarily think it is a flaw. I would prefer to have mine answer with the bluetooth if I hit the green call button. I was just wondering if there is a setting some where that I am overlooking to have it the way I would prefer.
I just tried it again with the DCD 3.2.6 and 3.37.75 radio. As has been mentioned above, it does not appear to be related to a rom or radio, it is a feature of the phone.
A friend of mine has an iphone, and when they get a phone with a bluetooth earpiece enabled, they get options on the screen which say answer, answer on phone, or ignore. Or something along those lines. I like having those options, but understand if it is not available on the 6800.
Thanks for all of the replies.

Help with SE HBH-Ds970

Hello,
I have a problem with my new headset from Sony-Ericsson HBH-DS970. It works quite well, numbers are showed on the small display, keys are fully working with Mortplayer, audio is diverted on headset when a call is coming but..... but.... every time I lose the connection between headset and phone, I have to delete the device and pair them again. It doesn't connect himself automatically when in the phone range!!!!!!
is it possible to fix it? otherwise it is unusable.
thanks for help, sorry for bad english.
fausto
Have you tried hitting the "Play/Stop" button on the 970 to re-establish the broken connection? It should re-establish just fine long as Bluetooth is still turned on on your phone.
thank you very much for reply Sharnet,
nothing happen, even if pushing the phone button on the headset, very strange behaviour.
The only way to reconnect it, is to enable A2DP function pushing on the BT icon on the tray.
But Tytn II doesn't connect automatically BT device when in range?
thanks for answer,
best regards.
fausto
When I had the 970's and also my currently used 980's, they never auto paired just by turning on bluetooth on the phone - I always had to hit the "Play" button (NOT the phone button on the wires, the Play button near the display) on the 970/980 to get them to pair.
I do remember that the 970's have a button for "single/multi" mode - and they are very picky on being on the right position when pairing for the first time. Maybe try deleting the pair, change the button to the opposite of how you paired with it (when looking at the display, it is on the bottom right), re-pair.
