If you look at some of the other roms out there for like the Tytn and Kaiser to name a few....why does it show on some of their screenshots what looks like minimized programs on the Top Bar. You know,...just like when you minimize something in Windows XP in appears on the bottom right next to the start bar. SO MY QUESTION IS...WHY DONT OURS DO THAT???
google wktask and install it to device

I've always been a user of SPB Pocket Plus, but it's a but clums to change the icons for the meters, and colour of the text on the meters often clashed with the background.
Are there any alternatives that can display meters for battery and storage, as well as custom shortcuts, or shortcuts to things in the programs menu?
I've had a go with SBSH's iLauncher, and I didn't like it. Any others?
Thanks

I use O2 plus 2.3 it will work on any Hermes WM5 or WM6, it has a small memory footprint and even though the picture of my screen does not show it you can have all that you asked displayed. Cab file below.
^^ I second, it is a good and elegant app. However if you want to go for an even MORE minimalistic approach then I would suggest PBar. It is a great app as well. Tiny footprint and it can do everything you are asking for. Albeit the memory would be in number form rather than using up precious screen real estate as a bar.
Latest version is 1.3 however most people are using 1.2 still. Do a search and you will find it. I see no reason why to repost as it has been repost a number of times already.

That seems to be pretty good. Any way to change the "i" icon, either to a different on, or get rid of it?
Thanks

Here is a newer screenshot, the 'I' is there to tap on to set which meters you want to display.

Check our the lastest Resco Apps - Explorer 2007 with today plugin addon.

Or you can go all out and go with Wisbar Advance 2 and Wisbar Advance Desktop
I can't remember which app shows a tiny battery line' meter above the title bar. I liked it and would like to have it again.
Maybe SPB which I have not re-installed after last upgrade?

Boz, in the screen shot it looks like you have been able to change the hot keys, is there a particular program you use to do this?

That's right, thanks! I had found it in between, and I really like it!
The default thickness is too high, and it's easy to change it from the settings (I put mine at 3, instead of 6)
Hi all.
I've created new software which show on top of your start menu a horizontal gauge you can see it, download, and read how to write plugin here:
http://www.xiaprojects.com/?section=All&project=TopBar&action=screenshots
thank you.
PS: if you like to do some on your start menu tell me, because TopBar is plugin based so I can write code to do it. "may be a iphone topbar with signal always displayed"
I will give it a try

yeah.. would love to have that functionality.. windows topbar is crappy looking..
but would it be compatible with Mobile Shell taskbar gesture?
cause when using wisbar to skin the topbar, MS updown gesture (which start from topbar leftmost side and goes down) doesnt work. SPB forum says that it is because the topbar properties are hidden when skinning..
Thanks

Hey everyone, I'm trying to find a program for the htc touch that will let me switch between programs on my taskbar like on a normal desktop pc.
I hope one of you knows what I mean
either only an icon that I can click or let it be rectangular buttons, whichever is fine.
Thanks everyone

I guess WkTASK could be the right for you:
http://soft.photoracer.net/docs/wktask_en.html
Thanks bro, I found that also an hour ago, it's exactly what I wanted
search for 'alt+tab' on this site and you will find another one that is exactly like the PC type Alt+tab switcher. You can assign it to a hardware button.
Installing WkTask seems to disable the WM6.5 start menu on my Tilt 2. The Windows button no longer works, and the start button does not work either. Has anyone else noticed this, or is there a known workaround? I needs mah task switcher!
wktask doesnt seem to work good in wm6.5, so work around is not to use it LOL

Any suggestions for an alternative that makes it easy to switch between running programs (and doesn't need a hard-key)? WkTask puts the "Windows" in "Windows Mobile".
I'm using iss Task Switcher
i have them both coexisting. Occasionally I lose the start menu, but very rarely
This bug's been bothering me since switching to 6.5 too.
I've been trying to isolate the Start Menu process so I can add it to the WkTask exclusions - but haven't yet found it...
Anyone else looked at this - or any chefs know what the Start Menu's exe is named?
WkTask is a great app, but I can't stand losing the start menu
THIS worked for me.
Just add \Windows\Shell32.exe to the exclusion list.
for me wktask worked good on all wm6.5 builds even on 6.5.1 it works good the only problem is its not transparent so i'm forced to set black top...

That's something completely different... I can't close the start menu, because I can't even GET TO the start menu. The start icon in the top left stops working, and the Windows hardware button stops working.
Maybe it's something specific to the Tilt 2?

At the risk of "me too" me too! And also I use Smartwatchm which and the combination seem to make a slow phone :-(
I would like to ask what the name of this application?
Thanks.
what do you mean?
It is windows phone 6.5.1 's feature .
hi,
Please see the attached screenshot, in red box.
thanks.
look answer upper.
wm6.5.1 OS feature
Like thangkls said, it's simply a feature of newer builds of WM 6.5.
thank you very much for your replies.
Any chance this can be disabled? I for one really hate it. On QVGA with my fat fingers it's annoying. Also, it seems to have arguements with my preferred task switcher/manager.

Use a Com2 Build. It cannot be disabled.
