I've been searching for such a program for some time now with little success.
Does anyone know about a program that would password lock a specific folder on my ppc?
Resco Explorer has built-in encryption. I don't think it locks folders, though. It locks and encrypts individual files. You could pick a folder to encrypt, but I think that would encrypt all files within the folder... not too sure.

I put Cabinstl on my Wizard as I wasn't aware that wm5 automatically gave you the choice, on the device, to install on the memory card.
However, having removed the program I am unable to install automatically any .cab files. Clicking on them brings up a message that there are no applications associated with file such and such.
I assume that the file association for .cab files has been deleted. Can anyone let me know how to get this association back, and most importantly what application should the .cab files be associated with?

I have WM6 on a Cingular 8525 and have found the encryption for single files. Or you can zip a folder and encrypt that. Is there anyway to encrypt/put a password on an entire folder?

PocketLock
Keep your sensitive files safe! PocketLock lets you password protect individual files or entire folders using powerful encryption technology. And it's easy to use -- just select a file or folder, enter a password, and your data is safe.
Easy: Encrypt files and folders in two steps.
Quick: Optional numeric PINs for quick entry.
Secure: Uses RSA encryption for maximum safety.
Convenient: Encrypt just the files or folders you want.
might be easier to just stop cheating on ur girl...lol

So I want to clear my stored entrys. I go to the options and hit the clear button but it doesn't work. were is the file so I can edit it or delet it?
There are two files in the Windows directory:
1. eT9Cdb
2. eT9Rudb
Delete both of those files and your "stored entries" are now gone. By doing this you're reverting back to the ROM's stored words.
It is absurd that we have to do this method just to clear our stored entries rather than tapping on the "cleared stored entries" box in the input option. But nonetheless, HTC make great phones. *sigh*
Enough of my personal vendetta. This work for me (HTC Cruise) so it should work for you.
i tried deleting these but i cant! this is so annoying!
if you're using the file explorer it will not work. windows will detect it as a root file and will deny the deletion. you'll have to use resco explorer.
ok i have some folders and files permanently hidden on root of my memory card to keep it tidy. mainly a lot of tomtom folders but when tomtom starts it creates a file called ttnavigator.bif . i can hide it but it creates the file again on tomtom start up so is ther anyway i can set resco file explorer to permanently hide files if certain types ie ttnavigator.bif ?

I am currently using FingerSuite on my HTC Touch. There are two parts to the suite, one is for "menus" and the other for "pop-ups". To prevent running the program each time I had to soft reset my phone I copied the .exe file for the 'MsgBox' program (which provides a more finger friendly interface for errors that give pop-ups) and placed this in \Windows\StartUp. However, by placing the .exe file in the 'StartUp' folder the program doesn't seem to run. When a pop-up should appear (eg. for confirmation of deleting a file; Yes or No) the screen simply freezes. This, I understand, is because I should have placed the .lnk file in the 'StartUp' folder instead as it requires other files in the same folder which are missing in 'StartUp'. Unfortunately I am unaware of a way to disable FingerSuite once it is running and because of this I am unable to delete the file I have placed in the StartUp folder.
Sorry for the poor description of my problem.
Is there any way in which I can remove this file I have placed in the 'StartUp' folder? I don't want to have to hard reset my device but if there is no other way then I suppose I will have to.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks, Alex
Nevermind, I managed to delete the file once I ran my device in Safe Mode.
