Freezing Stops Red Light of Death (Temporarily) - 8525, TyTN, MDA Vario II, JasJam General

My buddy's Hermes wouldn't power on or respond at all to being charged, including any LED lights turning on, after getting wet. After carefully taking the phone apart, soaking the motherboard in distilled water, letting it fully dry, and then reassembling it, IT WORKED! Thank you Alylea for the advice on how to do that! However, 12 hours later the RED LIGHT OF DEATH appeared. I tried everything on the forum. It wouldn't enter boot loader mode, playing with the battery or chargers and new fully charged batteries wouldn't effect it either. Finally, After a night in the freezer, it worked. Six hours later, back to the Red Light of Death again. Any Ideas? Could this be some kind of software issue that makes the phone shut down if it thinks its getting too hot? Any Help would be great! I am thinking of reinstalling the rom, radio, bootloader, and resetting the doc or what-not but I am afraid to start doing that if the phone would shut off half-way through. Again, Please, any insights would be great.

Think my phone is dead

Started last night. Phone would just shut down all by itself. Thought the battery was dead so I tried to charge it. No LED showing charging. Took the battery in and out several times till I finally got it to boot. Battery showed about 70% or so. Used it for a while, then BAM, shut off again. Placed on the charge got an LED this time, red. Wake up this morning and try to boot the phone. LED is green and looking good.
Worked most of the morning, then it was dead when I took it out of my pocket. So I go and get a new battery for it. Does the same damn thing. I am running CM 5.0 or so on it. Tried charging both USB cable way and direct to the wall.
Now I have used recovery screen, right when I go to wipe it dies out.
Will only boot if I take the battery in and out several times and finally will get G1 screen. Sometimes it will reboot itself, other times the screen just fades away.
And Ideas?
BTW, nothing happened to it recently. But it did get wet about 8-9 months ago. I stuck in a ceiling fan to dry it out for 2 days. Has worked perfect since that day until last night.
Update:
I was able to flash Zdonut 2.5, get to the sign in screen, goes black and reboot
New battery fully charged.
I even tried an old back up with same symptoms.

I have got the same symptoms, my screen fades out and the only thing I can do to power it up again is to remove the power plug and the battery.
Nothing brutal has happened to it, it started after I installed CM5-test1 on it but I have no idea if it's related or not.
Now it's living less and less time, I'm able to boot to recovery but usually not to boot into my OS (tried to reflash superD).
I think I need to get it to warranty, but for that I would like to restore my Orange Rom, but I'm afraid to do so as I have the newest radio, the haykuro SPL and a phone that may power off at any moment...

[Q] HD Dead?

Hi
I'm not sure if my phone is dead or the battery is dead. My HD2 got slightly wet - and I mean slightly. The phone continued to work. I dried it out over night and re-connected the battery. The phone booted up ok and was fine. I went to charge it and everything was fine, however when I returned to the phone it now won't turn on.
When it is connected to the usb or charger I get no lights. So my question is this: Is it possible to power the phone without the battery installed? If it is then it looks like my phone is dead. If it isn't then is it likely that the battery is dead and the phone might be ok?
Is there any way to test?
Thanks
Jonathan
if the battery becomes completely flat it can become unresponsive to charging, and when you plug your phone in it tries to turn on, thus keeping it flat.
you can try....with battery out, connect charger. nothing will happen, but now when you put the battery in it won't try turn on. leave it to charge for an hour or so and see if the charging light comes on.
but more importantly, you have gotta make sure the phone is dry, battery too,,, jar/bowl of rice and somewhere warm seems to be the usual advice.
Thanks for the suggestion. I tried what you said but the charge light hasn't come on. I did get a short vibration out of it when I first put the battery back in so I hope that the battery is just dead.
this is going to sound crazy on many levels, but this happened to me when I dropped my phone in a bathtub. What you want to do is put it in a container of rice. Trust me. Leave it for 24 hours or longer if you can, after this it could be working, if not it's probably fried.

[Q] Fixed (not blinking) red light after changing battery

Hi everyone,
a friend of mine's Nexus 4 has this strange behavior.
It went into water for about 1 second: unfortunately, she was working far from home and needed to keep the phone on for working reasons, I know and told her that the best would have been to switch it off and put in a bag of rice.
In any case, after few minutes where she was not able to listen to the people speaking, and the same on the other side (she was not listened), she kept the phone in a pocket and under the sun, and suddenly everything went fine: probably some water in the audio jack made the phone think the earplugs were plugged, and then this was fixed.
In the rest of the day everything was working, and we thought that, thanks to the hot day and the phone under the sun, the humidity has dried up.
At night when she came back home, she switched the phone off and put in the rice for the night.
The day after, she tried to switch the phone on, and nothing happend.
Screen black, no signals.
After reading something on the internet, she plugged the charger, and kept power+volume down buttons pushed: after some time, the red light appears, just one fast blink and then dark again.
So, we ordered a replacement battery (I have already substituted a Nexus 4 battery of another friend of mine), which arrived yesterday. I proceeded with the substitution, everything went fine (and I noticed that the internal water detectors are still perfect white, only the one in the sim tray is pink), but when I plugged the usb charger, again nothing happened. This time, holding power+volume down made the red light appear and stay solid, no blinking, no disappearing, until I unplug the phone, at that moment it disappears.
I let her charge the phone for the whole night, but still the same issue this morning.
What can the problem be?
It sounds strange to me that at first the phone worked and then it stopped at the first switch off (and I think that she powered off and on the phone right after the incident, and was still working) :-\
And I'm not able to understand the red light behavior...can someone help please?
Many many thanks :-[

Battery or Mobo, opinion please!!

Replaced the LCD full screen assembly on my LG G2, all went smooth following a YT video couldn't really have gone wrong,
Switched phone on and battery displayed 0% for several minutes, eventually getting to 2% when I turned it on, all was still OK, however it dropped to 0% within a few minutes even while still plugged in,
Then it was completely dead, no charge light and couldn't turn on,
Removed all of the components again from inside of phone and rechecked all of the connections, again all OK, this time it cam on again!! 0% charging, so I left it charging waiting as long as poss, 45% it was at when I checked but left it while I was sleeping,
Woke up this morning to phone completely dead, cant power on and no charge light showing
Am I wasting my time buying a new battery? could this be another component? LCD?
Appreciate any help,
Thanks
Lee
have now disassembled and re-assembled a further twice and now it does not power on at all
no red flashing light and nothing on display
I've got a similar problem. Did you find out anything? Bought a replacement screen from ebay, and was really confident I could do this, since I earlier replaced the usb charging port with no issues. Of course the battery was discharged completely before this, but I charged the phone and it worked a week ago (which resulted in an annoying alarm that I was unable to shut off because of the broken screen). So after replacing the screen, I plugged it in and turned it on before putting on the back cover. At first it vibrated and I could see the backlight turning on. Then I could see the red led, and thought it was charging, but then the led started to cycle between different colors. I was not able to get a picture on the screen. I then plugged it out and put on the back cover, in case that was needed (didn't seem so from the yt video I used). After that, nothing. Not even a LED. And the phone didn't get any hot like it does when charging/working. It did somewhat get a bit hot the first time.
My first suspect was the battery. It did take some wiggling and force/heat to remove it‚ and it did kind of bend at the edges, but not very much. Any ideas?

S7 Edge Won't Turn On - Solid Green Light

Hi,
My phone (s7 edge) won't turn on or respond to anything. I woke up to find my phone dead and assumed probably the battery drained. I put the phone on charge and left, after a couple of hours the led light was solid green like the phone is fully charged, but even after unplugging it stayed on. I tried turning it on but it won't respond. I have already tried simulating battery pull, booting into recovery mode etc. but no success.
Has anyone experienced this? Would appreciate any suggestions on how to get this working?
Possibly a hardware problem. It really takes it to a technician to analyze it.

Yeah seems like that. The green light turned off after several hours, now the phone won't respond at all. Planning to take it to the tech today
