so i have been running dcds rom since the gps radio came out, upgraded 5 times, im currently on 2.2.1 (not enough motivation to get to 2.2.3). anyways it wasnt until today that i noticed a lot of texts are not sending out correctly. on stock ROM, there was a software that automatically resent the message or at least gave me the option. now, if my message says it fails to send, i can only click on okay, then copy the message out of the window, and resend it. anyone know where i can get the text retry software and if i do will it work with 6.1? if not, anyone know of any reg hacks or anything that will reenable automatic resending?

I've got a stock XV6800 on Verizon that's suddenly developed a problem with text messaging. Basically it won't let me read or send text messages. I can see existing messages in the Inbox. But when I click on one of them and open it there's nothing shown. The To, Sent, Callback and body of the message is empty. Likewise when I hit reply (or try to compose a new message) the fields cannot be edited. What gives?
I've not loaded anything new on the phone for quite a while, nor have I tweaked any settings. I've made it a habit to load everything on a 2GB SD card anyway, but it fails to work even without the card being inserted. I've, of course, tried this after rebooting the phone (both by pressing the reset switch along with removing the battery, neither affected it).
I'd like to upgrade the ROM in it but would prefer to get this fixed before making matters possibly worse.
You either need to hard reset the phone, or update the rom.
A rom update wipes the phone and installs a brand new radio / OS. since what you have there is likely a software issue.. this will fix it.
I find DCD 3.2.5 way more stable than the stock rom.
If you update, PLEASE READ THE INSTRUCTIONS or you will be back here with major problems or a bricked phone.
If you follow the instructions.. it's hard to screw it up.
If you are unsure... Read the instructions, then make a list of what you PLAN to do and the order and method you'll use and either post it or PM me.. You should get an answer or feedback as to whether it's going to be the best way.

i'm posting here cause i've less then 10 messages in the forum, is this the right place?
A couple of days ago i flashed the FroYo AOSP for Tattoo v0.333 by fyodor, and everything works fine except the sms sending.
Did a full wipe/factory reset, wiped cache and formatted system partition before flashing (0.33, then just updated to 0.333).
I've never been able to send an sms since the first day, it keeps saying "Sending..." but never sends it (receving is ok).
I tried to update the SMSC with the *#*#INFO#*#* thing, and googled a lot without success (apparently the problem happened to lots of people with froyo, google forums).
Handcent works fine, but i really don't want another app to send sms, i would prefer using the stock one.
Anyone also had this problem? Any idea about how to solve or debug the issue?
Also, just curiosity, does flashing another Froyo ROM require full wipe? I tried ginger, it's amazing but in my opinion "too heavy" for tattoo.

Recently ive been getting the messing app force closing on me and this has never happened till now. My messages have also been saying sending and not sending the message also. I have to retry to send it inorder for it to send.
I tried to odin back and flash back to bionix 1.3.2 and i am still receiving the problem.

This is discussed on the TW members board and seems to be a problem with NextGen. Try a new rom or you'll need to install the AOSP messaging (available on their boards).
You can flash it after flashing a ROM but before the reboot (doing it the other way around will overwrite what you just did). Personally I wait until after setting everything up after flashing a new build, but that is just a preference thing.

Ok, I'm running Hyperdroid GBX v12 on my HD2, and since installing it, I have a problem with MMS messages...
If I receive an MMS message, instead of just showing the image right away in the message thread, I see a 'Download' button, and when I press the button, it says 'Downloading' for a while, but nothing happens. Then I get a warning saying that the message was not downloaded, and to try again. This behaviour loops.
If I try and send an MMS message, it waits a while and then says 'Message not sent' no matter how many times I try to resend it. My MMS was working absolutely fine on all previous Android ROMs I have installed on my HD2.
Hopefully, this is a simple fix? I can't find anything on search about MMS not working on this build.

Now, I have installed Team Blue Droid on my HTC HD2. Everythink works fine, but i can't send or receive any text message. Maybe i'm stupid, but i can't even edit any message, when i tap "+" on messages widget, is no reaction... Nothing happend.
Would somebody help me with any solution for this problem?

no, i'm not, i can make a call, but i can't even find some text editor, when I tap "+" on the messages widget, there is no reaction...
I decided to re-flash ROM, and now Droid loop on the startup animation... and I wait some one hour and no reaction...
I try reflash twice and is still the same situation...
I have newest CWR (5.0.2.6) than in instructions(4.0.1.4) and maybe it is the reason...

Check in aps do You have any sms/mms apk, You can also try to download handcent sms or go sms from market and try if it helps.

I don't have any sms/mms apk, but I already changed ROM, now I have some Froyo modification, everythig is working, but sometimes when I power on Leo, ROM just hang or reloop on starting animation, then I must take off battery, put it again and wait couple of minutes, and power on Leo. then everything work excellent. I don't know why, but i can live with this. However, when somebody have any solution for this problem, then please, tell me that.

You can try to reflash the rom, beggining with task 29. Remember to check what sizes of partitions your rom requires to make them. What rom have you chosen?
For the previous problem I think that you were missing apk for messages as I mentioned that was why you couldn't send or receive any sms/mms
