Hi I need some help,
My Tytn is having problem getting google map & traffic data, windows live map & traffic data and TomTom traffic service data; also, hotmail does not load with IE either. I have T-mobile internet service I have no problem go to other web site, yahoo mail and gmail both worked. This problem started about a month ago, I did not have this problem the first two month I had the phone. I pop my sim over to HTC 8125 and google map work as it should. I should mention my Tytn is running WM6 while the 8125 is on WM5. Google map and Tomtom think I don't have data connection and windows live map just show a blank page, does anyone know what the problem is? I talked to T-mobile PDA support with no help at all.
Thanks

Ok I am just about ready to format my wizard to default. I have been using the Wizard ROM the past few months. Pocket msn was working fine until over the weekend where as I click connect on msn it fails after about 2 seconds. I can browse using IE and get my emails via Outlook etc. All internet activities work except for pocket msn.
I even installed Windows Live and its the same thing. I read online where if I changed region settings to English UK and create a shortcut for msn that should work. It did but I cant be bothered with that as I still lose the ability to get my hotmail emails.
What am I doing wrong if anything, y did it stop working all of a sudden?
Still awaiting any help
Ok I have narrowed down the issue to the APN which I am using. In my country we have multiple apns. The one I am using allows me to browse at one flat rate. But for some reason it is blocking msn.com and pocket msn.
When I use the charge as u use APN I can access these sites but I am charged for the data being transferred.
Why would the provider limit the flat rate APN?
Hi guys!
Already asked in other sub-forum, but no reply there, hopefully more luck here.
Since GPRS and other mobile internet is expense in Belgium, isn't there an application that loads the weather report for the next week, everytime you sync your Touch Dual (or whatever HTC...) to your PC/Laptop. That way, you wouldn't have to use GPRS to get weather reports.
In my case it would drastically lower my gprs cost(since I sync every day!), and still have the eye candy of all those fancy apps you guys made here!
Grtz & thx very much!
in my country gprs is also so expensive..so I need it too..anyone can help us?
try this
1-turn on flight mode
2-sync your phone
3-tap update on weather app you use
Doesn't it work to turn on wifi (if your phone has it) and instead of using GPRS, it loads the data over the wifi? I know I've done this with Google Maps, and many other programs since I don't have a data plan.
Spb Weather does exactly what you want.
In the options you can specify to sync when docked and otherwise to sync only manually.
I'm using it since a while and had no sync through GPRS till now.
Don't know where it is getting it's info from or how, but i have just put Mobile Shell on a Himalaya, XDA II, and put a pay-as-you-go SIM in it with no credit.
Left it for a while after telling the weather bit where i am and lo and behold the weather forecast has updated.
Hello, it's possible to use a already downloaded map with one of those aplications, so you don't have to use gprs etc (a internet data connection with the cost that this have...) I think it's stupid about been downloading the same map over and over...
Anyone knows? Sorry if duplicated, I could'n find anything at all.
Regards!
Hi all,
I have the X1i on Vodafone, standard ROM, with the latest update via the SE update manager.
Windows Live is installed by default and all features, the email, contacts, messenger work fine via 3g/gprs (not wifi - but thats another thread!)
however - as soon as i install TomTom 7, (TT_Nav_7.450.9028_repack3-vga-black.cab is the version I have) I can't connect at all to any Live services, all I get is the error message saying
"there's a connectivity problem. make sure you are in an area with good reception and try again"
Even if i uninstall TomTom - windows live still refuses to work, I had to do a hard reset to get it working again
even though i have full reception - is anyone having similar issues?
I'm having exactly the same problem after i installed tomtom 7! it happend to me a couple of months ago and the only way i managed to get it workin again was to hard rest, however last time it happend i didnt have tomtom7 installed. i'm hoping there is a way to sort this out as i have just got my X1 exactly how i want it and dont fancy a hard reset and having to do it all again! As last time there was no relation to tomtom 7 maybe theres some settings somewhere that has been changed during the installation?
Anyone have any ideas??

Installing the 7.45 version caused problems with my phone. The 7.915 is working great!
Check your Settings-->Connection-->Connections-->Advanced, Select Networks button.
I've found that Windows Live ignores the connection used for "Programs that automatically connect to the Internet should connect using:"
WL seems to be hardcoded to use the default connection group "My ISP".
Irritatingly "My ISP" connection setting group doesn't have a tab for "proxy", so you can't use it for corporate networks, or GPRS networks which need a proxy server
The only way I got it to work was to set "My ISP" to contain GPRS modem connection settings (w/o proxy), and to set the proxy settings under "My Work Network".
I then started to use BeeJive IM - NO connection problems, and you can use it with multiple chat channels e.g. GMail Chat, MSN, etc.
I am currently an exchange student in Germany and I need some help with figuring out a problem with the internet on my cell phone.
I currently have a prepaid card (Call-ya) from Vodafone and I added on the Live! InternetFlat package about a week ago. On my HTC HD2 I have troubles connecting/using certain programs.
What works:
Internet Explorer (can access any website)
Google Maps
YouTube
Marketplace
Facebook
Downloaded apps from the marketplace
What doesn't work is the standard browser, Opera. From it I can only access sites like google and vodafone, I can't even follow a link from google. There is a vodafone "toolbar" that is on the webpages at the top and bottom. This is strange because it doesn't show on IE and I can goto any site when I use it. I can also not recieve/send emails from the HTC mail application through my gmail or yahoo accounts. I also cannot use Skype. Finally, the integrated Youtube and Facebook (data services...so you can see a contact's status etc.) don't work...but the standalone applications work.
I am mostly confused about the Opera part... however I think that Vodafone prevents me from doing email and using Skype because I don't have the two year contract with internet. Can anyone explain this to me and say what limitations there are to this internetflat?
