I'm sure this has been asked before, but doing a search brought up a lot of irrelevant threads.
I'm looking for some software I can install on my Desktop PC that will allow me to send an SMS through my Windows Mobile via the USB connection.
Is there anything available?

for changing the ROM, what do you use, activesync or SonyERicsson's PC suite?????
is this question so difficult or what. just i read that it uses activesync, but also read that it uses sonyericsson update utility
SonyERicsson's PC suite use the activesync connection
as does all other flashing tools which use usb to flash pda's
but activesync itself dont flash anyting it's just a connection
and a program on top which sync outlook info
ah, ok. it sounds so difficult. ok, the reason for my question was to find out whether you have to have permanent internet connection in order to flash Xperia (like in other SonyEricsson phones), which is actually one of the reasons i quit using SE or u can download the ROM and flash the device even without internet?
i would say yes try reading some of the threads in

My previous phones have all been compatible with Jeyo Mobile Extender. This software allows for you to manage/backup/send sms messages from your Outlook on your desktop when connected via active sync. I've contaced their support about Mobile Extender not working properly with HD2. This is the reply they sent:
In order for Extender to communicate with your phone, you need to make sure of these things:
1. You’re running the Windows Mobile version of Extender (check the “About” dialog under the SMS menu in Outlook)
2. Your phone is connected via ActiveSync/Windows Mobile Device Center to your PC (NOT serial port or modem connection)
3. Your Windows Firewall is temporarily disabled (or configured with a port exception on 9035)
4. On your phone, please go to "Settings->Connections->"USB to PC" on your phone and make sure that "enable advanced network functionality" is not checked.
I am sure 1 & 2 are correct.
3= I don't think there is a firewall on the HD2 blocking the communication, and
4= not sure if there is a setting for this on the HD2?
Has anyone been able to get Mobile Extender to recognize the SMS' on your phone? Or has anyone successfully used another program with the HD2 that will allow you to get your SMS' off your phone and onto your desktop? Thanks if you can provide the resolution.
3. sounds like windows firewall on the PC, not the phone.
4. the exact option is not available but "enable faster data sync" is an option, which is possibly what they mean? mine's checked by default, if yours is, try unchecking.
I have Jeyo Mobile Extender too, with no problems... Are you sure that the software is registered with the same name as the device? When you click on About/Register, Register..., click once on GET FROM DEVICE. I hope that you're problem is solved now

That's good news, focus. That's what I wanted to hear, that someone has it working with no issues. I thought of that as well. I've since sent an email to Jeyo support because my registration is under "Michael" and my name on the device is "Mike". That is the conflict I believe. I can't figure out how to change my registration info with Jeyo, so I'm waiting to hear back from them. Hopefully that is the reason for the error.
Is there any PC software for the HD2, which is similar to Nokia's PC Suite, which would allow me to connect the HD2 to my PC via usb cable, and to type and send the sms from the pc?
this was asked quite a few times allready... try using mymobiler (www.mymobiler.com)... it allows you to use your phone's interface through the computer,so you can use the keyboard to type txt...

Here is a very nice software for controling your Windows phone from your computer and you can send sms via IE or Firefox or ...
Sorry if this has been asked before, but I've tried searching everywhere including here and google with little to no result.
I'm coming from Windows Mobile 6.1 and you had the capability there to connect to Mass Storage or Windows Mobile Device Centre via Bluetooth.
For some reason each time I connect via bluetooth to my computer on the Galaxy S, it only allows me to connect it as a modem, which I don't want. I want it to connect the way Windows Mobile used to.
In other words, is there any way to connect the Galaxy S to the computer via bluetooth as a mass storage device or connect to kies via bluetooth?
I'm running Windows 7 Ultimate 32bit if that matters.
Thanks
I have tried this, and KIES gives you a pop-up asking if the device is BADA or Windows Mobile. It doesn't seem to support Android, much like the KIES marketplace, which also only stocks BADA and Windows Mobile applications.

Not sure if I'm understanding you correctly. Sorry
So do you mean you cannot connect a Samsung Galaxy S to Kies via Bluetooth?
Search for the app "Bluetooth file transfer" in the market. It's a widget.

I know thats there, but would like to use kies with it, reason being i'd like to check if any firmware updates are available without having to pull out the USB cable all the time.
I won't update the phone via bluetooth, but would much prefer to see if an update is available via bluetooth first then and only then would I take out the cable to update.
Right, if you choose Bluetooth connection in KIES, it asks you if your phone is Windows Mobile or BADA, it doesn't support Android yet.

Ah ok.... I've read the guide and it does say to press a Connect Device Button at the top right of kies, but its simply not even there... not sure if they eliminated that option.
Oh well. thanks.
if you want to Sync your phone wirelessly

I'm not trying to be a wise guy... But I'm not sure what you are asking for.
If you want Nokia PC Suite - Google shows it available for free download, straight from Nokia. Your choice of World Region, phone model, etc...
But I sort of think you know that and have used it in the past???
Are you saying you have a different phone you need similar (to Nokia) software for???
I sort of doubt that a generic, one program covers all software will be as good as one from the OEM for your phone. It might be helpful to state which phone you are trying to manage.
pc suit for wm
this sofrware can work as pc suit for the windows mobile
Mymobiler is nice, but I like EveryWAN better. It's also free for the personal edition. You can do more things with it (file manager, etc.) and it just looks nicer IMO .
