Intellisync / Wireless Sync for XV6800 - Mogul, XV6800 General

Does anyone know where I can get this? I just flashed DCD 2.1.0 and it's not included. Thanks!

Me too. Not on rom, maybe in the extended rom.

Isn't intellisync a nokia app? Do you mean activesync?

It's quite simple. Open your web browser and point it to "ota.wsync.com" and then download the client for the XV6800.

Yes it is a nokia app. With verizon though we can use it to sync our contacts and corporate e-mail. One thing that verizon offers over other carriers that actually works quite well.

Next question is, how do I get rid of the annoying icon in the system tray?

That I dont' know about... never was that annoying to me.

try imov from www.movsoftware.com
the only proviso is that you need a Jabber account somewhere.
this is a list of jabber servers:

I think mail2web runs one as well

cheers.. will look into it..
if only yahoo had their own app like they do for series 60
they used to.
you can still download it:
http://download.yahoo.com/dl/ce/ymsgr-ppc.exe
might still work
also forgot, agile messenger works quite well:

thanks will try those tonight..
Agile Messenger works very well, BUT after entering your account details, it tries to log in.. and tries, and tries, forever.
The solution is to press Next, then go to Options - Preferences, the last tab, and disable "Secure connection" or so.
After this, it worked flawlessly.

its a very old version of YM written for PPC2002. For some reason Yahoo stopped the project to support PPC. A big mistake as ICQ, MS and AOL do support it.
i heard that tmobile dont allow IM apps on their handsets as their current data deals for net browsing and email are not meant to be used for MOIP bummer

I heard they're looking to change that, based on the low bandwidth probably.
Tried Agile Messenger and it works great. Thanks.

Who wants the real MSN Messenger for WM5/TyTN

After flicking around on google, i have found a personally tested method of getting msn messenger working in WM5.
It fully supports the rotation that occurs when you open the keyboard on the TyTN.
http://node13.org/pda/
Go here (my own site), and do the following:
1. Connect your WM5 device to your pc.
2. Run msn22.exe (Will installed the PPC2002 version of MSN Messenger)
3. Run msn23.exe (Will instal the PPC2003SE version with the latest updates)
4. Reset your device
Voila, you now have a nice working copy of MSN Messenger.
Enjoy!
Just out of curiosity:
What's the difference between "MSN Messenger on Pocket PC" and "Pocket Messenger"?
Thanks for that!

For some reasons, every time I tried to run your msn23 from my computer (connected to the device of course), it showed the InstallShield 1645: and it stopped there. I have also tried msn22 and the result is the same. BTW, I have done the unlock CID already if it would matter at all.
Any suggestions?

Yes, I don't know why Microsoft have it so obscurely referenced, not easy to track it down. By the way also works well for me too.

Are you guys referring to the Live.Com Beta for Mobile download? Or am I missing the point totally?

Well now that's a tricky question... welllll ok yes we are, at least I am. The one that's like the old MSN for mobile but not quite if you know what I mean!! And the one that shows as Live.com on this link http://ideas.live.com/, In case there's confusion "MSN Messenger is now Windows Live Messenger" hence the use of the name Live.com.
Mike
you try this agilemessenger
in my tytn it works very well:
- he automatically rotates with the opening of the keyboard
- it notices all the emoticons
- it works with msn, icq, yaooh etc. accounts
- allows to make a photo with my TYTN and to send it
- and it also has the push to talk!!!
It's phenomenalanything
...else other than microsoft!!!
Enjoy

him, agile messenger is fabulous! to try for believing!
Is Agile Messenger really free? On their web site they only have 7 day trial versions after which you pay and through the nose...

Try not to get too hooked unless you want to be spending up big.

Free on WM5 "for the moment"
As it is slightly buggey or at least was, seems much more stable these days.
Yes is Free!!!
Where is it, it says that it's not available yet, the messenger.
Only windows live homepage.
Thank you.

I have blackberry connect on my phone, and is there any way i can have blackberry messenger working on my windows mobile???
Same question - blackberry messenger in WM6 ?
same question, but more indepth
i have a tmo wing, and i have the total internet, is there a way i can dl a bb messenger program where i can send messages to a bb using the bb messenger?
nope you have to have a black berry....

I heard that BBmessenger has to have a PIN. PINs are "given" when you install BBConnect. Is it a matter of no one creating a program to take advantage of the BBConnect software or what? I also heard that we can receive BBMessenger messages but cannot reply....any truth in that?
If that is the case, there MUST be a workaround for it.....
Any thoughts?

push email

anyone knows of reliable,CONFIRMED, PUSH email service that works on the pro?
Alltel Based Phone
All I can offer is that Alltel offers on their phone.
It stopped working recently, but when it was working, my yahoo mail came through with no problems. Also outlook can be set to a higher frequency if you don't want to send/receive so often.

1. Any exchange server.
2. Seven (www.seven.com) together with gmail.
Those are the two I have used.

Good Mobile Messaging Works great... better than BlackBerry! http://www.good.com
It requires a Good Messaging Server.

Google's Sync service has supported Google calendar and contacts sync for a while. Recently, they added support for pushed email. A few days ago, I switched from using IMAP to using ActiveSync for GMail. Except for some times when it's very slow to pick up on new email, it works pretty well.

i agree with nispen - i've been using seven beta with gmail for over a year. it's worked almost flawlessly.
i see that Seven does not work in Brazil, where I am. The other service that someone recommended is SMS based. Does anybody know a REAL PUSH service like maybe seven (I did not test it, but understand it does what it is supposed to do) that work here?
when i first got my palm, there was a popup about some microsoft push service for the device... i ended up flashing to 6.5.1 and that feature isnt there anymore though.
try emoze www.emoze.com

Native (full-blown) ActiveSync on Android

When will Android have full-blown, native activesync support?
I understand that even the newest versions of android only support email sync at the moment, correct?
As far i know there will never ever be a native support between Active Sync and Android!
Active Sync is for Windows Mobile only.
Activesync was licensed by google ... they can use it in Android.
It's in eclair aka 2.0.

So then please explain how to use Active Sync with Android 2.0
Would be very interesting for me with the Droid which is running Eclair
But i think its still impossible until there is an app for it.
The Work Email App is an ActiveSync/Exchange mail client. So far as I know, there is nothing that connects to Activesync to do a desktop PC Outlook sync. Every solution goes directly to Exchange.
If you find anything that syncs with Outlook please let me know.

Really - full blown activesync with push sync of email, contacts, calendar, tasks, ... ?
No tasks, but yes for mail, contacs, and calendar on 2.x on HTC builds (like Hero) and Rogers 1.5 builds.

I didn't mean to say it wasn't. It's just not what I'm looking for.
My experience with TouchDown (and the reason it's not the best solution for my needs), is that it doesn't integrate transparently with the rest of the O/S. Android 2.0 strikes a nice balance between transparency and power because you can do things like add a contact, then select which service to associate it with, but it still shows in your contacts list all the same.
