I have Touch-It 4.4, just got my BT GPS and im trying to pair it. I pass the first password screen without entering anything. Wing tells me the GPS is trying to pair and I click yes. The BT pairs as indicated by the GPS led. When I get to the finish screen im being asked for a password again. I cant bypass the screen. If I input no code I lose the pairing. Same goes for entering 0000 (which is recommended by the user manual of the GPS), or a password of my choice. If I try either method of at the first password prompt screen the device never pairs up. Is this a Touch issue? Tmo? Any help?

I tried 0000 but doesnt work, mean I must type in nothing, so it works at XP .
But botton for pairing on PDA is enabled if I type in nothing .
Is there a solution ?
I dont wil the mousr work on PDA, only the mousr buttons.
Dont knoe if this is possible, but 1st I must pair it.
Did you download the patch posted in the earlier text.? The number contained within a bluetooth hardware item cannot be changed as it is contained within the hardware/firmware.
i dl the patch. and it works to give in alphanumeric pin.
but i think device has no pin (HID) .
but on MDA2 the button for pairing ( the right one on the sire where u give in OIn ) is enabled if there is no PIN given in.
thats my problem now. How to pair without a PIN.
I have had my jam for over a year. I am not sure if initially i set up a auth code for bluetooth. I have recently purchased a blutooth adapter for my laptop and would like to be able to run active sync via bluetooth. I have tried all of y usual codes and no code at all and have had no luck. Please help.
Thank you.
had the sam problem with a gps reciever. When it asks for a pass code press cancel. It works evry time for me
What are the "usual" codes that you have tried? I assume "0000" was one of them?
I hae tried all of usual 0000, 12345 and any code that I would usually create. I have also tried to cancal out of the message and it cancels the pairing.
Anyone have any other ideas?
Have you tried 9999? That's what I used as default when pairing to a Nokia using an FTP profile.
Also try 1111 and 8888
unless i mis-understand the problem,
you select the code you want to use for both items eg 1234 at both ends,
so you type the code at one end, then type the same code at the other to pair them.
the only items that normaly have a preset code that i know of are bt gps receivers and bt headsets.
Yes that is the way that I also originally uunderstood it. I typed the code I wanted on one and then the same code on another. Still didn't work. Oh well... i will just take the bluetooth adapter back and stick with the sync cable.
Thank you all for your help.
Before returning your BT Adaptor back, you may want to check if the adaptor itself has a default code that you would need to input in your magician when asked for it.
This process sounds good for what I need to do.
I need to connect and pair up a bluetooth device(being the bluetooth cradle) in which the gps connects to for it to recieve the satellites.
But I dont know the password so I need to pair and connect the devices without using the password?
So how do I do this
There should have an instruction on how to connect your GPS unit (bluetooth) with other devices (e.g. button to press etc and the password to use, e.g. 0000 or 1234). Read the manual.
Yes I do not have the manuals I brought 4 prophits with the gps receivers of a company and I do not have the password to connect/pair them up so I need somebody to tell me how to bluetooth hack(or something of the sort) to make a connection with them/pair them to use the gps
First of all, it is technically difficult to get the password of a bluetooth connection without the device making connections and transfering data. If I'm not mistaken, getting the 'password' out of a bluetooth connection, you will need the device to be sending signal among each other. While enough package (data) have been captured, you can then 'guess' the pin out of the large quantity of data. That is possible if you have the appropriate hardware (not your phone) and software.
Secondly, as the bluetooth device is paired (or worse still, un-paired) to another device, you need intensive hack to your phone to spoof as the bluetooth that it is not (e.g. trying to pretend to be another bluetooth device), which I'm not sure is feasibly do-able (if not impossible).
Finally, as I've mentioned above, rather than spending time on trying to do the near impossible, try to look for this manual. And, there shoudnt be that many buttons on the GPS unit that, with a certain amount of trial and error, you ought to be able to make it into pairing mode and try guessing the PIN from there. The default PIN for such `unnecessary to be secure` device are usually the commons one like 1234, 1111, and 0000.
Yes But I brought them without the manual. The make is Mercury but can find any information about them on the internet and ive tried all the normal codes such as 0000, 1111, 1234, 1166, 1616, 6611 etc

Hi all! Does anyone know of a program that retrieves the BT PIN code? After installing a custom ROM on my Touch, it seems to have set it to something other than the default and I can't connect. Really appreciate any info on how to do this or if there's already a program out to take care of this! Thanks!
From what I know there's no default PIN. When you pair with a BT device it should either be the PIN of the device you're pairing with such as the PIN for BT headsets or if you're pairing with a BT PC/Laptop you need to enter a PIN on both devices.
hmmmm...maybe the sprint tech didn't know what he was talking about. They were trying to sync my old samsung phone contacts with the Touch and they kept prompting to put a PIN in because default wasn't working....I had no idea what it was so I just had to enter the contacts manually...
Hello everyone, I bought a new 2015 Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk, it has the 8.4N Uconnect system installed.
I can connect with bluetooth with any other devices, and everything works properly....EXCEPT my phone which is a:
Samsung Galaxy S4
Branded by Fido in Canada
It is rooted, still using the default rom that came with it, but I'm running Nova Settings instead of Touchwiz
SGH-I337M
Android 4.4.2
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
In my car, I goto Phone/Bluetooth settings, have option to change PIN to anything I like but left it at '0000'
On my phone I goto Bluetooth, turn it on, make it visible, hit scan......it finds UCONNECT
I press on it to connect and THEN.......
On the car:
if it is the first time trying since reboot, you can see the passcode show up (six digits - 3 digits a space and then 3 more) and an ACCEPT button. This immediately disappears and it says 'There was a problem connecting with your bluetooth device. Please try again'
If it is not the first attempt after a reboot of phone, it just blinks that first screen showing the weird seperated 6 digit pin and immediatley goes to the error messager.
On the phone:
When it finds UCONNECT and u choose it, a message pops up saying to confirm the passkey and press OK or CANCEL.
It always shows a random 6 digit number.
At the same time, a system message appears for a couple seconds at the bottom of the phone that says 'Incorrect PIN or Passkey. Please try again'
Pressing OK or CANCEL just returns you to the bluetooth scanning screen which shows UCONNECT as an option.
If i try to set the pin on the car with what was shown in the phone, it doesn't work as each attempt to connect generates a random pin on the phone.
I have restarted phone, car etc. Reset car radio completely. Removed all devices remembered on the phones bluetooth. Checked with UConnect support that my phone is compatible -- they say that it might be that Fido in Canada has done something to the phone to prevent it to connect to cars, as it works fine with Verizon/At&T/ and apparently people on Rogers in Canada with S4 works too.
I have commented out the blacklist entries on the phone in /etc/bluetooth/auto_pair_devlist.conf - no change
I have removed all files in /etc/bluetooth - no change
Other phones connect to Uconnect with no problems.
My phone connect to my TV and a bluetooth receiver connected to my home stereo and a second TV different brand no problems.
This is my main phone, also my new car. It really sucks that I cannot get it to pair. Fido, Uconnect support can't help - they have never seen this issue before.
I don't understand why the car shows a pin of six digits with the space between the two groups of 3.
Also, why the phone says incorrect pin or passkey.
PLEASE HELP!! I am going crazy over this!
I really don't want to, but if there is no fix, I will have to backup everything, format the phone, install perhaps a Verizon or something build of Android and then try to connect with that (hoping it has no issues with phone/data use with Fido network over here)
Updated info
I just tested with anothers car....
2009 Nissan Rogue...works fine (is used as an audio device only...no phonebook etc features)
Also tested with an Iphone 5 to my Jeep and that phone connects fine.
I tried using an app called 'Bluetooth Fix Repair' from the app store. It gives an error at startup:
"Sorry this application cannot find your bluetooth setup folder on this device"
Can this be the issue?
The bluetooth folder I was working with in the OP was on the phone at etc/bluetooth
Should I have another one somewhere...maybe missing or corrupted?
Any help!?! Cannot find anyone else with this same issue here (xda) or on google etc.
