WIFI Radio Player - Windows Mobile Development and Hacking General

Hi
Is there an application that lists internet radio stations and their respective url so we can use the media player to play internet radio?
If not I don't mind writing one if people are prepared to help with building up a lists of stations.
Regards
Pete

Pocketplayer
Conduits Pocket Player allows you to search the Shoutcast listing of internet radio stations.

Radio Stations

Is there any way or software where i can pick up music radio stations on my xda mini?
Easy over wifi.
Try Radiofeeds amongst others.
Also try TheStreamCenter (formerly radio4pda.com)
Streaming Music on Wizard
With GSPlayer freeware (http://www.pocketpcfreewares.com/en/index.php?soft=701) you can play ShoutCast playlists.
Resco Radio
U can try thr Resco Radio. I use it and it works great for streaming radio.

Good Radio Tuner????

anyone know of a good radio tuner? I need something to listen to the local stations while on my way to work... Any recommendations?
if you have internet access, you can log into radio4pda (i believe that is the site name) and stream tunes, there's another really popular one, but the name eludes me at the moment (been a long day), also for a few bucks you can buy resco radio (just google it)...damn i wish i could think of the other site's name...it huge, has several genre's, and is streaming radio...someone help me out...am having a total brain-fart! I know the radio4pda offers "local" stations, as it is broken down by state, the others i'm not sure about.
http://www.tuned.mobi/ <----- radio4pda link
The WIZ has no integrated radio tuner. The only one way of getting radio is over the internet (WiFI or GPRS - as mentioned in the previous post). If local channels are available online then there shouldn't be a problem - except your NETWORK PROVIDER is charging you lots of money for internet connection.
Other than that: there are some good radio applications out there. One of them: RESCO RADIO.
You can also try Shoutcast radio.com, or just do a Google search for free internet radio. I have about 30 stations downloaded to my Storage card under the folder I created as "My Radio". I can access the stations from GS player, TCPMP, or Windows media player. Most of these downloads are pls. files.

FM Radio????

is there FM radio available for the wing
nope. you would need a physical chip for that, which the wing does not have. Internet radio, however, is possible.
or you can just get one of those earphone where it has fm radio built in
i cant get the internet radio to work on my wing i tried yahoo radio
I'd like to use pandora. but i doubt it would work through the site. anyone tried it?
theoretically, it because it streams media, you should be able to use it.
You might be able to directly input the url of the stream you want to play.
It is recommended that you do this on Wifi
I got this to work the other day, and it works fine....kinda.
1) You must first get your network connection up and functioning. If you're using GPRS/EDGE, you must first establish the data path for TCP/IP over GPRS/EDGE...and you do that by launching Pocket IE and going to any site you know of.
2) Once you've mad the connection and fired-up GPRS/EDGE, close IE and use a media player....any player besides Windows Media Player! - for some reason, it does not handle URLs in a nice fashion (like http://radio.webchat.org:8000 - just happens to be the stream I produce and DJ on!). Use something like MortPlayer instead of WMP.
That's about it.
Enjoy!

Some good radio streams that play using WMP...
You can use the folling links to search for you favorite radio station, if it's broadcasted over the internet...
1.) http://www.tuned.mobi/ Pick your country, then search for the station by frequency or name...
2.) http://mobile.surrealnetworks.com/streaming.htm This one doesn't have many stations, but the few they have are good ones.
3. www.tinytube.net This one's an added bonus, it's like youtube for pda's. Not exactly streaming, but it is possible to stream if you configure the device properly(from what I understand). I just download them and play them back. Generally speaking if the video is on youtube, it's on tinytube...
Enjoy...

[REQ] Internet Radio Streamer

Hi anyone know of a good open source, free internet radio streamer? the microsoft one is so poor its unreal. I would like to have something a little better.
regards
Hi Aley,
I'm using MORT Player since Years. You only have to find out the steaming URL and edit the Mort Player Internet-Radio List. It's so easy and there are a lot more functions!
I never used WinAmp.
Chears,
Vitkor
Try KinomaFreeplay. Works very well.

I use the free GSPlayer, it handles all my MP3 and OGG streams.
Thanks guys for the great posts, is there a way to import these links/ favs to the players or must i manually go to the folder where i saved them to and copy them from the device to pc and visa versa
Here are some good websites for music:
1. http://www.thestreamcenter.com/pda/
This site is the best of the three and offers more streams than the other two combined so be sure to check this one out first. This site plays the streams in windows media player.
2. http://www.mobtuner.com/
3. http://www.htcradio.com/
These sites work well with GS Player and yes you can save the music streams locations right to your phone to load up quickly with GS Player.
the pandora client works nicely for me. I can post the cab here if you guys cant find it
I vote for GSPlayer. It faster, has less hangups and is easier to use to browse to my radio links folder.
all the above programs are good for streaming radio..... but i've just tried pocketlastfm which works like pandora but you can use it outside of the US. you put in a genre or artist and it continually plays tracks from similar artists/genres...... it's really good!

Click to collapse
I´m trying to find the cab for Pandora.
I´ve found one but it seems that it´s not working fine on the Diamond. Some errors on the start screen visual basic lines... I hit ignore and it appears it connected just fine. I managed to get the keyboard out to log me into pandora, and I could see my radio stations, but when tryied to hear to one of them, it hang out on "connecting"...
Can you post your cab here? or can you pm me with the cab?
Thanks.
kick in the $30 and get Kinoma. Totally worth it!
Hi,
Wunder radio. Loads of stations from around the world. Small fee, around £10, perhaps just under.

Last.FM on WM 6.5

Anyone have a Last.FM App working on WM 6.5?
fm pda radio
What you might want to try is called themobilestreamcenter.com. It is a site with every radio station in the usa. Listed by state to state. Just click and and it will open in media player. just look for media player compadible lists. for other player formats to play, download the tcpmp revised player. good luck.
Skyfire browser will make it work for you...
Also, as a side note; I like last.fm due to Xbox integration but man do I love Slacker Radio for WM.
i used to use pocket scrobbler, and it was great...but now use slacker... Hope this helps.http://www.last.fm/group/Pocket+Scrobbler
I use pocket scrobbler.
