I'll have to give another thumbs up to SOTI. It goes WAAAAAY beyond My Mobiler in functionality -- plus, you can "skin" your device screen (to look like the whole device) for those screenshots and it includes a registry editor that you can use directly from the PC which eliminates the need for Mobile Registry Editor.

Is there a way to "RDP" control your window's mobile desktop using tcp/ip? It does have a 'real world ip' address.

I have checked the forum anything that resembled what I am looking for ? If I am even looking for the right thing; I am looking for software that would allow me control my TyTN from my desktop; something to the effect of a screen emulator that would allow to make changes to contacts and save them to the phone and do some cleaning up of files etc. and also would make it possible to clean up stuff that is on the SIM card.
Any help would be great !
Thanks
PabloP
There is a client from Microsoft that allows you to do called Remote Display Control.
Mike
Hi.
There is a product from SOTI called Pocket Controller Professional. It
emulates the TyTn on the desktop, and allows also to use the clipboard to
copy text (like the long registration codes).
It's only drawback is the price: some 26 $!

Link here.
SOTI is well worth the price. It is absolutely one of my most indespensible WindowsMobile tools!
Is it possible?
this does the job. not cheap though.

Or you can use Puppet Master
http://www.lim.com.au/PuppetMaster/
or you PEBBLES remote commander, available free; just google it and you will find it. it works great.

I like "Logmein". It will switch off and on if you have wake on LAN. In short you can start and run any programme you would normally, including print etc etc.
Logmein is free though you have to register for obvious reasons as you can control any computer with internet access.
Find it here:
https://secure.logmein.com/
I beleive Menneisyys will be reviewing this type of application soon.

Yup, the reveiw will be published, it seems, tomorrow - I'm doing the last small fixes on it.
in the meantime, I recommend the "Shutdown?" row in the comparison chart at http://www.winmobiletech.com/PPC2PCRemoteRoundupTable.htm . In a nutshell, all remote controller apps can shut down the desktop PC, except for RDP-based ones.
What can I say, looks like menneisyys (the man who never sleeps!) is about to do it again. Even the comparison table is brilliant.
Mike
y pay (for software) to shut down your home pc! i use terminal client service to shut down home pc all the time!
MakaveliReturns, although remote control applications probably do more than ud like for them to do, they can accomplish ur purpose and i think ull love what they can do for u..
its just cool neway and comes in handy when im at school n such.
and a vote for logmein, a free wonderful tool, just got to register and install on ur pda and the computer u want to connect to, doesnt require the remote pc to confirm, just a psw ull have to input upon connection
good luck =)
Hi all, not sure if anyone wants to go this far, but I found an old Compaq DL580 server, and bought a remote lights out 2 card for it, bacisally the remote lights out card is a small webserver that has its own NIC and power, it detects for CE devices at login, and even has a slightly trimmed down admin page for it, I have had issues with RD spazzin out on me at times, and didn't really like the other remote login choices, I have to admit it put a big smile on my face powering on my server from my tytn with the tap of the screen, sorry if I went a bit off topic, I know this was just about powering off a pc, but for about $200 or less you can have total control, and not rely on 3rd parties, or microsoft.

I also use logmein. The great thing about this is that you can also use another pc to remote control your pc instead of you pda.
Is there a free bit of software that will allow me to use the ppc as an extended desktop.
I have played with side window, but would rather not pay for it as i don't think I will use it enough lol
RDC is another option
Would that extend the desktop (use the ppc as a monitor)?

Is there such a program that will allow me to control my wizard from my PC desktop? I thought I saw one before, but I have searched and searched and cannot find. Any help would be great.
Microsoft has a "Windows Mobile Power Toys" (AFAIR, not 100% sure) Package, which contains a tool to do that. It's pretty old and I don't know whether it still works with modern Windows Mobile versions, but you may nevertheless give it a try.
EDIT: By accident just found this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=2179815&postcount=2
Sounds pretty promising

Soti's Pocket Controller was recommended to me yesterday and I can vouch for it being an outstanding program.

I use "My Mobiler" and its very good. The best thing is that I can use my mouse cursor in the Wizard screen, at the same time I use it on pc.
There is the version 1.23 released on the developer site: www.mymobiler.com
Hi all,
I'm about to get my HD2, and I've been trying to track down a list of recommended apps for the handset. I've seen all the tweaks listed on XDA and so on, but I was looking for something more in the way of programs that would enable a better experience on the HD2. For a brand new phone, what would be recommended? Some I've picked up already, such BSB Tweaks, but what else could ppeople suggest?
Thanks!
David
Hi!
One thing in upfront. Please be gentle to your new beloved HD2 ;-)
You can use search and in the theme and application thread but here is some I use and don't wanna miss on my HD2 in future....
Resco File explorer (best explorer ever)
Core Player
Skyfire (for embedded flahs)
SPB Backup
Nimbuzz / Skype
BSBTweak as you said...
TomTom
Cheers,
LEE
hi Lee, i,m not brilliant with this sort of thing, where do I find Tom Tom and how do I apply it to my phone, hope you can help me
cheers aby
Hi there,
Thanks for your reply. What is a good program for doing the registry tweaks? I know Resco can do it, but what are the other options? What is a good program for backing up and restoring Data? What other suggestions do users have for a new phone?
Thanks!
David

Alternative to Resco Registry wourld be PHMRegEdit (free) but Resco is really a musthave !!!
For Backups i recommend SPB Backup (Best one in my opinion). Full Backups, PIM-Backups, Self-selected Backups etc etc
Rather than ask for random lists of 'best programs' you would be better using your new HD2 for a while and then seeing what you would like to add.
There are many thousands of programs out there, and there is probably no software class or profession that isn't catered for in some way.
As the previous posters have said, a good backup program (Spb or Sprite, with Spb being the better one at present), a better file manager (Resco or TotalCommander), a better media player (Coreplayer), an automated profile switcher (SBSH Phoneweaver) etc, etc.
But, try it 1st, out of the box. It may well do all you need
I´ve got TOMTOM 7, Torch (flashlight) and the most cool things is clear backgrounds, so that i can see my wallpaper better.
Searching: Core Player, Need 4 Speed, and a guide to use total comander.
If you're a Twitter user then I recommend Twikini - http://www.trinketsoftware.com/twikini/

Where can you actually buy TomTom Navigator 7? Not from Tom Tom, it seems.
moTweets, Swype, NoData.
Core Player
Skyfire (for embedded flahs)
Nimbuzz
BSBTweak
Garmin Mobile
Google Maps
Facebook (even with its limitations I prefer it to browser for 'quick looks')
Shazam
Run.gps
Pocket Scrobbler
Smabergs bluetooth/wifi toggle
Crayon Physics
Electopia/Xtract/Pangya
Zenonia (if you like old school RPGs)
FPSece
Thanks all for your help. Will use it for a bit and see what more I need as suggested. Can't wait to get it later today!

Cool! I didn't know about that one.
At work, I have my phone connected all the time - and I always thought it would be great to be able to control it from the computer.
Can you also type your SMSes with computer keyboard?
total commander, pocket rar,pim backup are also very handy.
Hi all, thanks again for all your help. Just got my new HD2 now - it's sitting in its box - I can't wait to open it!
