PocketCM like for emails ? - Windows Mobile Development and Hacking General

Hi,
Does somebody knows if there is a 'PocketCM contact' like application to replace email or calendar. I've seen some initiatives from OTO but nothing for email.
Thanks
Ced

If you are referring to the scroll features of pocketcm...install ftouchflo

If I were to guess, d_ced was referring to both the nice scrolling as well as the large (finger friendly) items to be tapped with a thumb.
I would like such an email interface too.

I would love to see a screenshot of your email app with large email items to be clicked on. I still can't visualize how touchflow would do any more than just allowing for finger swipe scrolling.
Thanks.

There are some people interessted in such an app. Me included. The PocketCM Interface is just awsome.

I agree....this would be extremely convenient when you factor in trying to select a recipient. This is a great idea.

I would also have a PocketCM interface in E-mail!

Are you sure? All I've seen is a launch of poutlook.
OOps. You're right...I didn't look at the video. Cool
I'd love either a PointUI for pOutlook or a PocketCM for same.

Thanks for the info mikhe69. I am not a big fan of "cubes" per se, but I will check it out.

As far as I know, this App is Flash based... which uses memory and stuff... the programer is working on a C++ based version, but this seems to be a basic cube, without the extensions so far.

SMS Application Idea

Thought I would show this to you all, maybe someone would be up to the challenge of making an app similar to this for our WM phones. Quick vid here at YouTube. If I even knew where to begin I would attempt to create it, but it's not something I'm able to do yet. Anyways, thought it would match well with A_C's apps and all of the launchers.
Thanks!
Anyone at all?

No I meant the actual app for SMS, not a launcher.
Sorry, misunderstanding... Try PocketCM, not quite the same but closest there is...

Finger Friendly Outlook

I was wondering if anyone is working on a way to give the "PocketCM" treatment to outlook. If ever there was a need to add some finger friendliness to an app, Outlook is the one. Is there a technical reason that this has not been done, or is it simply not possible? Can there be an app that interacts with Outlook that would give this sort of functionality?
I know that there are a LOT of talented dev here, and I use your apps, and man would it be sweet (Like I would even pay for test versions of an app/client) to have something like this to go along with the S2 app and POcketCM/ThumbCal.
Sigh.......uh.........FTouchSL.

*Gasp* Wow! You mean FTouchSL now resizes hyperlinks and attachments and contact boxes and menu options and all that so that I don't have to hit them with a fingernail?! Man, I have TOTALLY not been keeping up with THAT piece of software! I'm so glad you informed us about those new developments in the FTouchSL world, Champ. I mean, I'm sure you're not equating "finger-friendly" entirely with just the ability to scroll, because that would just be incredibly short-sighted, asinine and totally miss out on a lot of what the original poster was probably asking for. So thanks, I'm going to go check out their new version right now.

Another sigh.....
PocketCM's contact input is quite similar to poutlook, I would suggest a different app, but the OP wanted a finger friendly poutlook, so yes I did suggest FTouchSL. One of the biggest downsides, in my opinion and I'm sure others, is that there is no "flick n' scroll" feature avail. So, that's right, I suggested it, and it is a perfect way to make poutlook finger-friendly, have a better idea?
P.S.: I'll quote the OP here, "Can there be an app that interacts with Outlook that would give this sort of functionality?"

I also want to quote OP (and this is his first sentence): "I was wondering if anyone is working on a way to give the "PocketCM" treatment to outlook."
you are just trying to manipulate what OP said for you own cause...
so.. what your answer should have been.. "if you want scrolling then go for FtouchSL or Ftouchflo (free version), for other functionalities, currently there is no software (atleast i dont know about)"

No manipulation here, personally I'm not too worried with what this guy uses or will use, but I gave a suggestion. Currently, your right, there is no other addition, other than FTouchSL, to WM software that will make it "finger friendly", but I'm sure glad you also found it necessary to go against my opinion. While this doesn't modify poutlook's design or layout, the scroll option does make it easier to browse through and select your data for viewing. I'll kick back here and wait for your suggestion !

actually "atleast i dont know about" was as much for me as for you..
and blowfish you can take it easy.. i think champ just misunderstood the OP..
I appreciate the "spirited" response my post has elicited! My intent was to truly get away from the stock Outlook interface as it is damn near impossible to navigate with one hand, even with FTouchSL. I have been using a trial version, and I have found, though the app is a pretty sweet piece of work, that it interferes with the "finger friendliness" of other app designed to handle kinetic scrolling and the like on their own.
With apps like PocketCM and ThumbCal, I am able to avoid much of the insanity of the GUI for Calendars, Contacts, and SMS. I would LOVE to have it this way with email as that is something that is integral to my core business and primary use of the device.

[REQ] TF3D Notepad

Hi guys, hopefully this'll be a simple one. Like the TF3D calendar app, I'd like to see this one with a TF3D tab. It's just a notepad, really. I'm not bothered about loading/saving different note files, would just like a note to appear on the page, editable of course. It would be up to the user how to use it, but for me, it would just be for reminders, or to-dos.
I'd like to see what peoples' thoughts are on this one, and look forward to seeing what happens
Thanks!
I second that!! I think it would be great to just write something quick and sto store it in the TF Notepad tab. that should be great!
I'd be interested to see what ideas others have for this.
I was also thinking about text entry... maybe it wouldn't be done through TF3D, but more like how text messages are written - a button leading to the note editor, and all the TF3D app does is reference a note file for display or something.
Or more, like Notepad/Paint..
could be quite nice to have a paint-program in TF3D
Maybe something like this!?
Use the stylus to write something directly in a TF3D Tab!!
It's a fake!.. so no comments like 'Please, Please can u make it for me!?' or 'Where can I download it?!
Like that indeed
Put a TFLO3d border around it and a tflo3d scrollthingie and off you go.
Just slik.

Dilligaf is on the ball one time
I'd also like to see plain text entry, as my handwriting is appalling, doubly so on the Diamond
Well, text-based notepad is planned for my new iPhone-like UI (and then for standard manila). But no handwriting possible - manila don't have any drawing API.
this software allows you to write within any other program running, you do not have to be "in" TF3D.
the problem is, that when using stylus - insead of being able to write - you scroll.
http://www.inesoft.com/eng/index.php?in=calcnote.html
any ideas?
you should desactivate scrolling in touchflo maybe with some registry key like i do on my trinity with the adapted touchflo (touch scrolling features and cube in trinity). But scrolling will be desactivated for all others app...
perhaps on top of the notepad.. could includes note browser to choose archive notes or start new notes.. and better off have page navigation..

this was a feature available in TF in trinity etc. you cannot edit TF on diamond.
however- the builtin notepad works fine with scrolling - other software does not work as well: calcnote, and Phatpad - same issue.
ideas?
Like I said before, I think something that worked similar to how you write text messages, where it displays the messages in TF3D, but editing takes place in the standard text messaging app. So, for this idea, you'd see the notes in TF3D, but editing them would be done in the notes app or something. That's not inconsistent with the way other TF3D apps work, and it gets around the scrolling problem. You could probably flick through notes like you would a text message.

now, happy developing once you get fed up with all those ppl pm'ing you and asking for the cab
but, seriously, if anybody really gets down to it and makes a tab for taking quick notes, i bet many ppl will be grateful (including me)

Not sure exaclty what your looking for but I use an app called "The Pad" from www.visualit.co.uk installed and remapped my right soft key to open the pad. Really useful for scribbling notes, telephone numbers etc on the fly.

[APP] MySpace for 6.5

This is nothing special, but I was searching for it and couldnt find it, so I threw it together.
It is simply a wrapper for the Myspace Mobile site (m.myspace.com) and should render in all resolutions.
It makes use of the widget capabilities of Windows 6.5, and thus is ONLY FOR 6.5. This is not a ".cab" file it is a ".wgt" file.
Extract the ".wgt" and click to install it!
The only know bug is when installing some users may get the "There is no application associated with Myspace. Run the application first, then open this file from within the application" error depending on how the ".wgt" association is setup . To fix it, install Themuzz's solution which sets the association to open the Widget Installer.
works good so for, nice job.

It is a Windows Mobile "Widget"
MSDN Reference: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd721906.aspx
this is pretty sweet. too bad I almost dont use MySpace anymore.
running on my tilt, I had an issue; fonts are TOO big; and there is an issue that it does not take up all of the available screen like the other widgets do. the scroll bars are useless in winmo6.5.
great thing though. works very quick and loads images quickly too. it would be nice to be able to save images in it (for contacts) but that is probably asking too much. lol.
thanks. this will stay.

contacts dispaly

how can I change the contact names list to first than last names rather than last name to first?
Search for an application called, "Contact Changer"... and I believe it can be found on the PPCGeeks website, in their forums.
It should be in version 1.3 if I'm not mistaken. I have it on my device. It quickly runs a scan of your contacts, then SHAZAM... switches 'em up appropriately by user settings.
it looks like its $1.. and why does it scan SHAZAM?

No, the application is definitely FREEWARE. I would not have advertised for it otherwise... and like I said, check PPCGeeks, or do some thorough Google searching. If you still come up empty-handed, I'll find the .CAB on my PC and post it here.
