Hi all,
When I send out a text message, it's not automatically saving to my sent folder. I'm sure there's an easy fix for this--please let me know.
Thanks!
It is in your settings -
Go to the Account Picker Screen and click Menu, Options, and the "Message" tab. Check the box that says, "Keep copies of sent items in Sent folder."
If you are in your text messages, click on Menu, Tools, Options, and the "Message" tab... continue from above...

Is there any way that I can get a message notification that an email has been sent as there are no options to do this in "settings" -> " personal" -> "sounds & notifications".
Also, is there any way I can get notification following a send/receive request in "mail". There seems to be no way of knowing that the request has actually been done.
Thanks in advance
thedogshome!
there's no real way, when you send an email, the server doesn't send back a "message sent successfully" notification, it will just send you an email if it isn't successful.
which way are you send/recieving? there's like 3 ways taht i can think of off the top of my head - in the TF3D screen using the soft menu, in the outlook app using the soft menu, or in the activesync app clicking the sync button. in the outlook app you can tell because when you click it at the bottom it says connecting, etc, and when it goes back to the summary of your inbox then it's done. in activesync it's really obvious, when the activesync symbol goes grey it's finished. in the TF3D there's no notification of when it's finished.
get advanced config and turn on the message sent notification bubble thing
Thanks for your replies. I have been using the TF3D screen but will use the outlook app from now - Thank you.
I have downloaded the advanced config but can not find any reference to email notification only sms.
Thank you
sorry, i thought you were referring to phone message, not email :s
I didnt like the way the emails and messages opened in the home tab, ie it goes straight to the latest message so I added the mail and messages programs from the start menu to my quick links which corrects these problems. However, there is no notifications on the quick links to notify me if I've got a message or not. Is there a way you can get notifications to come up like it does on the home tabs?

You can set notifications to show on screen messages for these events, yeah.
Go to Settings, All Settings, Sounds & Notifications, Notifications (tab) and when you go to message or new email message, you can set it to "Display message on screen".
Hope this helps

Unfortunately not because if I go into settings I don't have an option for 'All settings'. The only option I can find for notifications is under display and sounds, and I can only change the sounds and vibrate for notifications. Am I doing something wrong?

Sorry - it's the settings tab, then Menu, then All settings.
It's frustrating because All Settings is what the settings icon in the start menu used to do, and some people have modified the registry so that it's back that way (me included), so when you want someone to go to settings, you have to actually tell them to go to the settings tab, then menu, then all settings, when you just want the bloody windows settings screen!! lol

Thanks, I never even knew that all settings was even there.I'll see if that works, cheers
The notification wasn't exactly what I was after, with the fix suggested above a pop up comes up saying new sms which is not exactly what I was after. What I wanted was something like on the messages on the tabs where you get a green circle superimposed with a number of how many messages you have. Can that be done?
Ah - I see what you're saying now. Sorry, I misunderstood.
Have you looked at MaxManila at all? That does exactly what you're asking.

I found this in another post, but it seems to be buggy... I get alot of squares in the popup and the name of the sender only.
Have you ever tried changing the options in Settings->Sound and notification->Notification tab and checking the box "Show message on the screen" ?

Exactly what I wrote above... and it's not working properly!
hi does anyone know how to increase the number of emails that show up, currently it only shows up 50 but is there a way of increasing the number?
and also when i send emails, they dont show up on my sent email tab....anyone know why?
thanks in advance =D
email tab - click inbox - menu - scroll down to Tools - Options -
1 - on accounts tab, tap the account you want to change, tap 'send and receive schedule', 'Download messages' is probably set to ''past three days''. ALso on this tab at the bottom, 'advanced settings' - you might want to edit the settings in there, such as 'delete from server when deleting'.
2 - same place, switch to message tab - tick 'keep copies of sent items in sent folder'
thanks for the reply
but im using hotmail and it only shows me yhe options for windows live....and ive looked but no options to increase emails
as of sent items. ive already checked that box but still doesnt save....
I have the Evo 1 on my Opal, but when I send an SMS message returns a warning indicating that the message was sent, as I can delete it?
I hope to answer
If you don't want to see the Message sent notification...
edit the registry:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Inbox\Settings\
SMSNoSentMsg should be 1.
If you don't want to keep your sent items...
go to Messaging > menu > tools > options > message and uncheck "Keep copies of sent items in Sent folder".
