Help with recharging port! - Mogul, XV6800 General

Hi!
First of all sorry for my english!
I'm better in russian
Help me with my Mogul's recharging port!
I love to listen music, but today i suddenly fall to ground and shake black plastic stuff inside Mogul's USB port
When i try to charge my PDA i must insert recharger's flex very hard with some degree...
But headphone is perfect.
How can i fix that?
Thanks!

You have to take the phone to your service provider for repairs or send it off for repair at HTC, the maker of the phone.
Вы должны взять телефон вашему поставщику обслуживания для ремонта или отослать это для ремонта в HTC, изготовитель телефона.

Sorry for late reply, problem is "for my country it's not possible to send anything to anyware"
I just can dream about it
So i fix it myself.
It's recharging good as new.
But my main problem is my "Headset"
I shaked not only black plastic stuff inside Mogul's USB port, i shaked and broked headset's "Mini USB" port too
Have anyone knows how to fix Headset's Mini USB port?
I need schematics or some tutorial and help!
Thanks for Russian Jonny
Your Russian is УЖАСНЫЙ
Thanks again!

Have anyone got schematics of Mogul's headset?
I need L1,L2,R1,R2,Mic...i wanna do it myself
Can anyone help me?

Broken Connector replaced with USB2

Hello all,
Many moons ago I dropped my xda one to many times and damaged the pins in the connector.
I have seen a few similar posts regarding this, and O2s response is to generally replace the entire motherboard.
I finally got around to it, I pulled off the broken connector and soldered on a usb connector.
With great thanks to xda-developers.com, I deduced the pin layout drew up a plan and tried to do the soldering only to find it was too small for me. I took it to an electronics engineer and he did it for me to my specs and low and behold it worked perfectly.
w00 h00!

Finally....someone did it .....
Great work Stephan...u gave me the courage to continue with my project(i'll post it later IF it succeded),since the Himalaya and the BlueAngel connectors are the same as for the Wallaby...
Once again Stephan, thanx for doing what people may know, but no one dare to do
Cheers...

Good to hear! 8)
I am so happy to have my wallaby back!
I was glad we managed to secure the usb connector on the mb by the rear two lugs on the connector, it seems pretty solid. its a shame it sticks out about 5mm from the phone.
This weekend I will open it back up and take some better pics with my own camera, the above (taken with works camera) are pretty cruddy.
I think o2 had the right idea with the usb cable on the mini, 24 pins over 15mm is just too fine and delicate for something that gets thrown around so much.
Cheers!

Well done Steven, I also need to ask , does this mod also charge the phone?
I have a dislodged serial connector and looking for an easy fix, do you know if a GPS receiver will also work?
I also noticed the rear connector looks like it routes through the serial connector pins, does anyone know if this socket can be used to charge and sinc the phone.

Hello everyone, I wanted to ask if there is an alternative to pins 14 and 15 for the usb. thanks

broken bottom connector on xda2

Good morning, does anyone have any ideas on the following problem,on the bottom of my xda2 where the power plug goes into/docking station,it seems to sort of disapeared? just a big hole, and now i cannot charge it whilst driving or whilst docked unless i take battery out and charge in the aux slot.
Not sure what to do,is my xda2 now useless, any idea where i can get it repaired and the cost
thanks for any help offered

I sell the connectors on ebay - unless you are fairly confident with a soldering iron I'd get a mobile phone repair shop to do it for you. You may also have damaged other componants on the board when the socket was pushed up.

XDA II Damaged connection slot
Hi all,
I had the same problem with my XDA II, sent it for repair and it did exactly the same shortly afterwards, i bought a new battery and charged each one alternatively, but found problems syncronising and eventually gave up.
I have recently bought (my little gem) Xda Orbit, after many months examining what was on offer, I love it its is everything i expected and just a little more. Purchased a 2 Gig memory card and installed copilot on so i have sat nav and all my tunes. needless to say i have a spare Xda II up for offer for spares and such should anyone want to get in touch with me.
there is the Cradle and power charger, 2 batteries and it works well just as long as you dont want to connect it to your pc, anyway im new to this site, would be pleased if someone could point me in the right direction for Orbits here and please feel free to contact me, even if just for a chat and introduction. need to get established here.
cheers all, have fun and hopefully speak soon

not very cheap, however.

magican akkuswitch

Hello, has a Magican, where the switch for the Akkudeckel is broken, now wants I it to short circuit. Unfortunately I find for it no guidance which contacts I to connect am. would be nice if me someone help there can.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/files/naked-magician-insane.jpg
detail: (attached)
Just shortcut red and blue and it's OK.
Take care, the switch can be broken, but the back cover could break the wire or unsolder it...
I had the same problem on my beetles, I replaced the switch with a resistor pin. (can be twisted, easily soldered, won't move...)
Take care of nearby components...
thx, i will try it.
hi boris, I have the same problem
what does that resistor pin exactly look like (do you have a pic of your of your magician?)
I dont know how to do it on my own - but i can ask a fried - just need an instruction

USB connector replacement

Hi there
I have broken recently the USB connector at the bottom of the device. Managed to replace it with a good one but one of the pads is broken of the board. Has anyone got a schematics of it or know where the USB connection point are? It does charge but is not recognised by ActiveSync
THanks
Here you have the Charmer Service Manual:
http://mikechannon.net/PDF Manuals/HTC Charmer_Service_Manual.pdf
thanks for that. However, there is no schematics in this manual. I have already replaced the connector but one of the pins has come of the board. Need a point on board to connect it to. It is the second pin from left looking at the connector facing you.
Thanks
Got to ask,did you get the same USB connector? as i looked and could not find the same one,in the end i replaced it with a smaller one,as for your problem,I have taken mine apart and had a good look round,on the underside there is what looks like a point you could try,it's right where the second pin is,how you would solder there is a tuff one but thats the only thing i can see.
Thanks to your reply. I have notice it and did solder but did not do anything. Can you possibly buzz the connector to the point around and just check which one of them to connect to. I have tried with MDA I but it is complitly different board.
Thanks
I will have a try for you over the next few days, kinda busy with a move going on,just to make sure i'm looking at the right pin,it's the second one along as you look from above going left to right?
failing to load the zipped pic. Only up to 2 MB - should be 8 mb max
As you are looking at the pins connected to the board it is the second one from left. For other people's use if you get all 3 ot them on pic should somebody else need it. If you cannot get the pic I will try to upload the pic tomorrow.
Thanks for your effort
the pic of broken pad
As promissed here is the pic. It's the second pad from left
Thanks
Lonegunman, are you still with us?
Still here, have done a few tests to see if i can pin point a place for you but not had much luck, problem being my one is working, what i will do at some point is remove pin 2 from mine and see if i can find a point, just for your info the pin you are missing is the data -, so as you say it will charge but not sync.
thanks..... Dont think you need to remove it. If you got the multimeter you can measure resistance from that pin to anything around it. when resistance is zero it is defo a point I can connect it to.
Thanks for your effort once again
anyone willing to help please
please...someone has an open charmer. All I need is someone to buzz the second pin to a place on the board
Sorry been busy on loads of other thing (repairing a plasma TV is no fun i can tell you)anyway if your uk based PM me you address i should have a spare one i can post over to you for you to try and work out what you need.
pm sent. thanks
Special thanks to lonegunman who kindly sent me his MDA and help to repair it. The data pin connects to SM resistor just above it.
Thanks lonegunman again
