SMS sending with XDA II

ever since i've upgraded mine to WM2003SE, my friends are complaining about how they receive the same message twice every after 10 minutes...is it the software? or my service provider? any help would be much appreciated...thanks. :lol:

I gues you both are using "Pocket Plus" software, you have to disable the "close" feature, or at least, execlude "Outlook" from the the "close" feature so when you next time send SMS, it goes as one time, not dublicate!!

this thing also happens to me, my receipients complain that i send the message more than once (even up to 10x!)
i tried diabling the "close" function of SPB Pocket Plus. hope this works

what i did and works so far is i don't t tauch anything on the screen antil i ge the ''message send'' bubble, by doing anithing else the messages get to be send twice!

What you experience is a well known bug in Windows' way to send SMSs:
The only "workaround" is to wait a few seconds after pressing the "send"-button until the bubble "message sent" comes up, just as chlouk wrote.
If you close the messages app before the bubble comes up, your SMS will be sent twice - only MS knows why...

Just exclude the tmail.exe from the close button feature of pocket plus. It'll fix the problem.

it's been nearly 2 months since i last posted this, n checked it only just now. :lol: my problem was solved a month ago by uninstalling SPB pocketplus...i'm reinstalling. thanks much for the help!

I have exactly the same problem only when I send a sms while I am talking on the phone.

Messaging on SPV M700

Hi All
Been using my M700 for a couple of months without any real problems but all of a sudden the messaging (Email, sms, mms) has stopped working as if it never existed. Press start, scroll to messaging - nothing... just returns to main screen. Same via Programs menu. I know I could reset the machine but other than the above it's running just as I want it to. Any ideas anyone?

I've seen this once before, and unfortunately it needed a hard reset to fix

I have done a search but it won't work as sms is only 3 letters.
The problem I have is I don't like the thread/conversation view for my sms messages, is there a way to turn this off ?

I installed the cab and noticed today that I did not get notification of sms when phone in standby. I have uninstalled the cab but still can't get notification, it infact seem slike the phone is not even trying to get sms messages when in standby, it only seems to check when the phone is live.
I also noticed that if I send an sms from my O2 to wifes 3 the message is instant. If I send message fom her phone it can take 3-4 mins before I get it.
I can only see hard reset as fixing this but would like to avoid it if possible.

Can't open SMS or Message apps

Hello All: I have a Spanish Elfin, works fine, came all the way to Zimbabwe with me. All of a sudden I can't open the SMS app or Messaging. From home screen, if I select SMS app it just does nothing. Same thing if I try to send an SMS from iContacts or if I try to send a text message from my list of phone calls. All just do nothing. I back-up every day with Sprite Backup, but going back a few days does nothing to that problem.
Anybody have a solution for this, please? In Zimbabwe, SMS is the best way of communication, I need this.

Thanks for the reply - I've tried that. I uninstalled iContact, and it didn't help, so I installed it again, still no change. I don't have anything else sms-related installed on it.
Any other ideas?

can not receive sms, but can send

Hi guys,
Since today (i think) I can not receive sms anymore. I can send sms without problem. When someone sends me a sms my touch hd with EnergyROM 6.5 20090814 wakes up but does not notify me, and the sms is not displayed in the Inbox.
What is this problem? Please help!

The same here. I hard reseted my blackstone last week. I make a restore from a backup with Resco Backup, installed some basic programs (HD Tweak, SPB MS 3.5, SPB Phone Suite, all of them installed before reset) but I don't receive any sms.
The phone wakes up, but the sms isn't there. I tried exiting SBP MS, uninstalling SPB phone suite...to no avail. Anyone may have an idea of what's happening?
Using latest HTC stock ROM.
