Just download and use Activesync 4.5. You don't need any IP configuration.

i already done that but unable to connect my pc to phone. can any one plz tell me exact and step by step method of connecting pc and phone by activesync 4.5.

Delete any partnership you have in activesync and connect your PDA again and create a new one. It must work...

There are no drivers and nothing on the CD that you need.
If you are getting an error connecting to ActiveSync please tell us what it is.
Generally the procedure is simple: Install ActiveSync, connect device.
If you are having problems check the following:
1) Deactivate any firewalls you might have.
2) Make sure your USB drivers (the port and hub drivers, not for the phone) are fine. Try connecting some other USB device to test this.
3) Make sure your phone is connected directly to PC (not through external USB hub) and that there are no other devices connected to the port next to it.

O2 Atom drivers

I do not have a Companion CD for my O2 Atom - can anyone help me where can I download all the drivers?
What kind of drive? you just need ActiveSync
I instaled activesync 4.1 but I can not get it connected with my Atom. I tried USB cable and bluetooth. It always comes up with message "Your device was not detected". Could anyone make a copy of Companion CD and upload it here on the ftp? Thank you.
Something is wrong wiht your USB (cable, port or device). Try to connect another device (pendrive for exemple). You just need Activesync.
U were rite, there was sometthing wrong with my USB hub, though other devices were working with it. Anyway myAtom is now connected thru ActiveSync. Thanx.

Any ideas guys??
Hi,
Yes I have it working with both USB / BT :=)
Try this procedure.
1. Download this file.
http://www.download.windowsupdate.c..._847432eec73e750d6d8056881f52a39fbc94587a.exe
2. Extract it using winrar. This will give you a file "wmupdate.msi"
3. Now be sure to logon to Vista as the built in admin and run "wmupdate.msi" and after that reboot and again login as built in admin, let it complete the install.
4.Login as your regular user, connect you phone and all should work:=)

Hi,
I'm running 5472 as well, but the update (from the file name) looks like it's mean for build 5460. Are you sure this is compatible with 5472? I just wanna make sure because I had just reinstalled my OS and don't want to go through the trouble of breaking it Of course, there's always system restore, but it can be a PITA for me sometimes.
tried it but dont seem to work, setup starts then vista picks up a new device, out of interest what does your wizard show up as in device manager? It couldnt auto find a driver, so i browsed to activesync dir and there was loads of MS drivers, also HTC drivers, i tried to choose HTC pocket pc but didnt work, its obviously not the Wizard drive its after as the wizard wasnt even plugged in.

Oh yeah, now I remember... 5472 was being a real pain with my MDA. I can't remember what I did exactly to fix the driver issue, but I believe I just pointed it to the root directory of the CD that came with the phone when it prompted for drivers. Just be persistent with it, and it should finally install
BTW, the file provided above works! It does install an older build of WMDC, but it doesn't seem to affect anything. The build provided with 5472 only works if you choose "quick connect", instead of establishing a partnership.

I had the Start CD that came with the device put in and it found the drivers needed from that auto.
And sure enough the provided file is for an older build but for me at least it does work.
And it shows up as "your username Windows Mobile-based device" in WIndows Explorer..see attached snapshot"

Oh I just looked at my initial reply and one thing I forgot to mention
I had to run the wmupdate.msi i file from a command prompt, and that also had to be started with administrator priviliges.

qtek s200 device driver for windows

am a newbie i just bought a qtek s200 but i didnt find its CDrom included and everytime i connect it to my Pc it asks for the device driver....where can i download the drivers from ?
You should download ActiveSync from Microsoft.com, install it, then plug in your phone. Windows will then automatically install the necessary drivers.
Good luck.
I had the same problem with a normal USB cable.
I lost my cable and the sync does not work with a normal cable ??
Do you have a origional cable ?
it worked thank you
HTC USB Modem driver
ActiveSysnc software is useless, when you need to use your phone as GSM(GPRS) modem via USB connection! I couldn't find out "HTC USB Modem driver". Maybe because I didn't know, what I'm looking for, till i found it.
Anyway here's link http(Colon)//uloz(dot)to/3934398/gsm-usb-modem.zip*

Newbie help flashing ROM

Newbie, can't you tell
I'm trying to flash my rom on my o2 xda orbit to the full 4 sided cube version. Here's how I tried it:
Downloaded the zip file to my pc hd.
upzipped it and stored it on my pc hd.
connected my phone through activesync.
ran the step 1 file.
phone went blank
restarted the phone for a fresh connection.
ran step 2 file
activesync then loses connection and pc asks me to install software for the new usb hardware I'm trying to install!
I've not got any software for it!
So I'm left with a phone that can't connect via usb activesync because as soon as I run step 2, to update the rom, it loses the connection and the pc doesn't recognise it.
what am I doing wrong?
Bump. Same problem here.

In the most case, you will need driver for it to work properly.
- if you connect your phone to the pc as a usb storage, you will need only general usb driver, that commonly available in any pc (if the windows has been properly installed)
- if you connect to the pc to use with some specific softwares (e.g. Kies 3 or Odin), you will need Samsung usb driver, that can obtain over the Internet...
If you have wifi connection on both PC and phone at home or office, you can use Airdroid app. Really easy to use.
