Can anyone tell me if anyone has done any developing on the phone software for the Trinity. The problem I have is the size of the text, both numbers and contact name. With the phone pad taking up only half the screen this leave the other half to display nice big fonts for the telephone numbers and the contact name. Instead, WM6 uses a teeny tiny font that I have to squint to see!!! Wouldn't it be nice to use the rest of the screen for a VISIABLE sized font? Has anyone done any development towards this? Could any one do this? Does anyone know if this is possible? It seems to me that this is one big major shortfall of WM over Symbian where you can actually see the numbers on the phone. All help and suggestions welcome?
Thanks!!

One common problem:
in many phone is that the phone number edit by keybord is too small same problem in all HTC devices.
There is a way to increase the numbers size?

I'm assuming you mean that you want larger buttons in the dialer app? If so, just dowload one of the cab versions that you like from here http://www.paulya.com/dialerskins.htm
That's basically just the E-Ten Dialer with various skins applied to it as a cab file. They do have the loose skins on the bottom half of the page, but the cab should be the easiest to deal with.
SOOORRY BAD ENGLISH,
No, I speak really about the number size, that common appear in the device display.
I have the tytn that have a very large screen, but I don't understand why with all the considerable space free, the number to call edited by screen keybord must be just sized about 4 mm.
My question is: There is anything to do for change their size?

Hi Motionmind,
Just wanted to confirm that the Eten skins you mention will retain the smart dial function or not.
Thanks for your help.

I think that site has a couple that do work with smart-dial or he is at least working on some that do. The majority of them, however, do not.
Something i REALLY hate with Windows Mobile, is the complete waste of the display. Everything is written with tiny ugly font, instead of a big clear font (i know you can change font size, but that only applies to some few things).
On incoming calls, theres LOTS of space to display caller id/name, but no, it only displays it with a tiny font leaving 90% of the dialog with white pixels, so it's impossible to see it if you have your phone mounted in your car.
Does anyone know if it's possible to change fonts size of the incoming call dialog, or some third party application that replace the entire screen?
I tried a search, but i don't really know what I should search for?

If you want something for PICTURES of contacts of incoming calls, you could try ProPhotoContacts, I use that a little and it just displays a large pic of the caller and some info ( you can choose between business style, personal, or just name and number to be displayed.)
If you just want larger text, idk what you could use for that, but there are many good 3rd party contacts apps that do what you are looking for.

I don't want pictures - i just want the number/name to be readable from 1 meter distance - so i guess i need some 3rd party application to replace the default dumb dialog.
But i haven't found any, and i'm really not sure what keywords i should use? Have anyone found an appliaction like that?

That's a darn good ?. Even the pictures assigned to my contacts are too small to see who it is calling. Luckily I have different ring tones to each of my contacts, I know who's calling by the ring tone.
I remember there was an app for Symbian that allowed for full screen caller ID pictures. Don't remember which one it was... my last Symbian phone was the Pana X700 and I stopped using that back in summer of '05 when I discovered the Blue Angel.
But there's got to be something for WM as well. Have you checked all the freeware sites?
there's been a thread within the wizard forums about this app that changes the caller id bubble and is very customizable. Im gonna go look for it, and if I find it Ill report back

Anybody Know?
I was wondering if anyone knew how to magnify just the picture of who is calling. That link above is great but it has all these additional features that i'm not interested in...i think my phone might explode if i put more softwares like that on it. I just want to be able to make the picture of incoming calls large. I have photo contacts pro and I don't like it. When an unknown caller is calling then it's completely useless...more importantly it doesn't recongnize callers from your sim card...that is why i stopped using it....if anyone knows that would really make my day
You could always make a jpeg with big bold letters of the contacts name and save it to their photo contact...
Does anybody know the optimal Aspect and image size for contact pictures?
something that will look decent and maximize the picture on incomin call pop ups along with the HTC Favorite people tab with the 10 icons for contacts?
Same goes for me. I would like to have high res/ size. When using the slide2unlock with caller id, the photos looked like crap.

The default size is 120x160, if you're trying to use S2I2 maximized i'd probably go with 240x320
my problem is that the faces are getting cutt off when using the HTC home with the contact buttons, its quite annoying
why not this? can we make it so when someone calls, their pic comes up on the whole screeen instead of that stupid incoming call balloon. Its obvious an incoming call is coming in already by that little sound called a ringtone. would be cool to see a big pic of whos calling instead of a chopped up small stamp sized blurr of a pic IMHO
Has anyone figured this out yet?
There is 3rd party software sold for just this. I can't think of the name at this point. It's been a while since I was trying to do the same thing.
The thing is... in the case of WM, to change the size of the avatar, the OS would have to change. They don't make it a variable option. That was back in the WM5 days. I haven't heard that it's any different with WM6.5. We'll see what WM7 has to offer when it's deemed ready!
Hi there,
I am hoping to find just a few rare tweaks for my Diamond, here they are:
1. Anybody ever though of (can't believe nobody did) a tool for left-handed users? Specifically, a.o.:
- WM vertical scrollbar displayed on the left not on the right
- In TF3D, the People tab, the slide-out bar to display some of my favorites is on the right and not on the left. Sliding with left hand is no good because the palm covers the screen.
2. Is there any way to transfer contacts with non-ASCII symbols from htc memory to SIM?
3. Managing text messages. Once you browse Inbox and single click on a message it displays along with the keyboard. What makes big sense once you want to send a message is useless for reading messages. Any way to rid the screen of it? How about the font used to display the message. Which registry variable sets it?
4. How about SMS channels be displayed on today screen? It is possible to add the channel but not display it.
regards
With regards to #3, can't you just tap the keyboard symbol at the bottom-center of the screen to make it disappear?
I sure can, but tell me one reason to do it?

I am looking for some help from the many people on here more talented than me, I have very basic programing skills but am hoping to learn more though this process.
The plan : Create an app for winmo that can do similar to this http://www.theregister.co.uk/2009/05/14/email_n_walk/ ideally for texting as well as email.
My ideas so far (very early stages):
1. Use the generic windows messaging screen and replace the white standard background with a transparent one, probably with shaded area for tx to make it readable, and call the camera app behind it.
2. Use the tf3d messaging screen and use something like MunBackground all tabs to again run the camera view instead of a static picture.
In an ideal world I would only like to use one of these methods meaning that text/email could be written with or without the camera app running.
I would appriciate any input and help with this, I am well aware this will be made more difficult with my lack of experience, but am hopful that the wealth of knowlege here can help.
Im sorry, i cant offer my help, but you have my support; this would be great, especially for wvga devices.
If I understanded, you want transparent screen to send messages?
I'd be willing to donate some money toward anyone who could create such an application.
I'm sure came across this before as an idea if i'm reading it correct, the problem being that when we walk we don't hold the phone up infront so we'd be viewing the floor infront of our feet
One way would be to take a picture every x ms and draw it and additional items like rectangles and text in the paint method of a panel control.
P.S.: How would it look like in manila? Remember this fake/bug live camera image in home screen?

Possibly not completely upright, but maybe 45 deg, and would still stop you tripping over stuff!!

In my head, it would ideally be a seperate way of opening/writing text/email to save battery life when not needed, and would probably be a video/camera image behind, with a semi transparent overlay/greyed out area where message text was typed to enable the text to be readable.
Will try out that diamond bug/fake
