hello ,
this is for everyone who is currently facing an issue with the phone freezing in WINDOWS SCREEN forever whenever the prophet is SOFT RESET.
After going through the forum & deleting & reinstalling a dozen programmes as instructed the problem persisted.
But here is the real simple solution
Click START ==> SETTINGS ===> SYSTEM (TAB Below) ====> POWER
====> ADVANCED (TAB Below) === > UNTICK both the power off options===> soft reset =====> VOILA !! ====> Your PROPHET WILL NEVER EVER FREEZE ON SOFT RESET .
GOOD LUCK!!
Soft reseted atleast a dozen times & everytime its smooth boot.
FEEDBACK PLEASE ! HAHAHAH!!!
don't think it's such easy but still give it a try
disappoint soon after, my prophet is still freeze and take VERY long time to boot up
boots up fine now
did you "UN" tick the options ??
The prophet has never freezed since I followed the method . It boots up fine everytime.
Yes of course. I think it freezed because of the HTC Home plugin. But it is not freeze forever like you, it just took very long time to bootup.
I do a hard reset to bring back factory setting and it boot fine, install some apps and HTC Home plugin for wm05, it took more than 2 minutes to bootup.
But forget about it, I've just up my prophet to wm06 rom (pdaviet shadow touch edition) and it takes only 30 seconds to boot, sometime it still freeze on boot sceen after I changed something on the setting, which requires restart, or custumize the home plugin. Just soft reset again and it came back to normal
Startup freezes
Hi nannlp
Nice solution.
My Prophet freezes always when starting up. The only way to avoid it was pressing keys continuously.
It works for me.
Thank you very much!!!!!
Boot Screen Freeze on SPL.
I have similar problem the boot screen takes about 10 minuts load in normal startup and if i do something this Bluetooth or WIFI it takes about 6 hours to boot. Tried the given solution did not work for me. I think this is something to do with the overclocking, I was doing overclocking for some time and the freezing issue happened after that. I have IMATE JAMin G4. Otherwise to this issue I love my phone. I would love to get rid of this problem, please help.

My HTC was flashed with TNT. It has 2.21.0001 and 2.21.Olip. I can boot it to boot loader. I can reset it, with switch or pulling the battery. Every time it boots showing the versions, then comes to a WM6 boot screen. This is normal. However it never comes out of this screen. The LEDs flash as if it were working, but the phone is unresponsive.
Is there any way to fix this?
Do I need to reset it in some way? If so, how?
i had a same problem with TNE. after it worked fine for a year.
then i changed the rom to a new 1 and fixed all my problems . just upgraded it in bootloader mode.
Same problem. I installed BlackDiamond2.0. At the begginning everything was ok, then Send button wouldn't work till I press the Start button on the querty keyboard.
Just playing, I tried to overlook with an application that came on the package and then it didn't work any longer. It stays at the BlackDiamond picture.
And I cannot make a hard reset since Send button don't work and cannot connect with Active Sync to flash the rom.
Any idieas?
also could be a bad battery. happened with my brothers phone. acted the same way.
our phones are old now. get a replacement 10 bucks.
Hi,
New phone and new to Windows phone 7. Classic story - the phone has stuck in boot screen, it says only "Samsung Omnia 7" and that's all. I have tried all tips I could find from internet - took the battery out and let it sit, tried to hard reset it -nothing. Actually hard reset button combination seemed not to work - when I turn it on, holding camera and volume down buttons, nothing happens, it shows boot screen and that's all. It do switch to the download mode when I turn it on holding camera and volume up buttons. I tried to reflash it (got the rom files that it came originally), and after restart the situation is the same - boot screen stuck and nothing happens.
I used WP7_downloader version 7.41, Samsung USB drivers v5.02. The weird thing was that older versions of WP7_Downloader did not work - told that flash lock was on. 7.41 seemed to work, it erased and downloaded all areas fine. I don't know if this is normal, but the flashing process itself took about 120 seconds only. I tried alternative ROM (classic I8700XXJK1), the flashing time was slightly different, but nothing changed, after flashing the device restarts and stuck to the boot screen. As I have read the flashing process should took about 10 minutes or so? I waited for about 20 minutes and nothing changed.
Can I switch the device to some debug mode or do something else that could lead me to the reason the device is not booting?
Omnia 7 stuck at boot screen after
I upgraded to Mango last week and i now too am stuck at the "Samsung Omnia 7" boot screen.
The phone seemed to do two updates, the first suceeded no problem. I started the update before going to bed. In the morning it had completed the first and was awaiting my pin code to start the device. All good.
It then prompted about the Mango update. I clicked it and left it for an hour or so. Came back and zune stated it was on the step, "restarting the phone".
The phone was showing "Samsung Omnia 7", i left it for another hour and then came back, no progress.
Nothing i've found on the net up until today has worked for me.
I can enter the format and download modes still.
This is what i've found and tried so far.

(yes this is an older issue but it looked like it was working until it said something about "flash lock").
Next step is a complete ROM reinstall. But i'd really like to find out precisely which ROM i should try and if Mango is the actual culprit. I'd like to reinstall Mango if possible.
My Omnia 7 was bought secondhand.
I am with Telstra NextG carrier.
After mango update mine is behaving strange too. It shuts down itself randomly and it is stucking at omnia 7 screen. After a few try I am able to open it. But I noticed something, it's shutting down much more while it's connecting to web or PC. Can this be related? Because I couldn't find another reason about that.
I loaded Yuki's ROM and updated to Mango via Zune. Had it running for about a week before I discovered that when I turn off the phone and then turn back on, it gets stuck at the point where it should be loading the home screen. I get the time at the top and that's it; the phone is completely unresponsive. The only fix I found was to do a hard reset and start over. I thought maybe an application caused this so after the reset, I turned off the phone before loading any other applications. It got stuck again at the same place. I suppose this could be linked to the sd card and I'll try a different one. Just wanted to see if anyone else has experienced this problem.
--Edit--
I've linked my issue to the sd unlock cab. As long as I don't install, mango restarts with no problems.
I've had this a few times.
Usually get the lockup at the SIM password screen.
Just reboot again and it will come back. Sometimes a couple of boots are needed.
I have a supported Sandisk card BTW.
Thanks. I've given it 2 tries before the reset but not more. I'll try to be more patient with it this time...or just avoid turning it off
I had the same problem as well, reflashed it with the same problem. after doing about 3 hard resets it finally worked.
I'm getting this continually, every time i reset i end up having to hard reset...
hi...
I'm really desperate, my phone is suddenly dying and I have no idea why, I'll tell you from yesterday what has happened:
- I'm playing a stupid game and suddenly the screen goes black. No led, phone doesn't answer any button, nothing. I hold power button, nothing. Remove battery and put again, nothing. After some attempts phone turns on, but just after starting it reboots or stays frozen.
- I decide to change the rom (I had simpl rom), so I do a full wipe and put CM 12. It seems it works, but when I'm in the settings, at the beggining, I don't even have time to put the wifi, it starts rebooting again and/or not responding.
- Desperated, I install via odin the stock firmware from Sam Mobile. It seems it's gonna work, but when the dialog of "Android is upgrading -- Optimazitating app x of XX" it always gets stucked in a number, randomly. I never get to the 230 apps.
- As a last chance, I try Kies to install factory firmware. The same as before happens, but now it's only 17 the number of apps it tries to optimize.
These last 2 times, of course, I enter recovery from time to time (now the default one) and wipe cache partition.
My phone is agonizing, what the f is happening? Does anybody know what could happen?
Please help...
hi guys i have an issue with my device (i9500) since i had a bad efs partition which i successfully restored from a backup.
The device works perfectly, but as soon as you lock it, and wait a few seconds, you can't unlock it anymore. Screen stays black, and the only way to get it started again is by removing the battery. Then it keeps on working perfectly, apps, games, everything is fine, as long as you don't lock it (by pressing powerbutton or auto lock)
Either then it crashes or restarts.
Things i've done already:
- Soft reset
- Hard reset + cache wiped
- tried many different roms
- fresh stock rom installed with Odin.
Problem still persists.
Disable lockscreen till you find another solution.
