Hi guys,
I tried to upgrade my Dopod C800 with Official WM6 ROM for HTC P4350(HTC_P4350_WWE_4.17.405.2_4.1.13.44_02.94.90_Ship.exe)
But i get ** invalid vendor Id error*** and stops upgrading.
My dopod C800 details is
SPL 1.09.0001
IPL 1.09.0001
ROM 1.7.707.3 WWE
ROM Date 11/01/06
Radio 2.69.90
protocol 4.1.13.30
Ext rom 1.7.707.106
OS 1.7.0.0
Pls help me to upgrade my dopod C800.

This is because the Dopod acutally never released a WM6 for your device. I too own a Dopod C800.
See this thread. This will upgrade your device to WM6 and will also make it hard SPL. After that you can(if you wish), upgrade to the cooked ROMs around too
And hey! do follow the instructions carefully

You had a working phone after flashing HardSPL on a phone with:
SPL 1.09.0001
IPL 1.09.0001
???

1) Use HERALD-USPL-beta3.zip or Hard-SPL-Herald.zip --which one i have to sellect?
and then flash with

or
Method 2)
1) Use HardSpl_WM6.rar or herald_wm6.rar
2) do i need to flash with officila HTC ROM or the above will contain WM6?

I have just succeeded in removing a simlock from a t-mobile MDA vario (QTEK 9100)

* I need to CID unlock with lokiwiz02b...
But my biggest question remains.. wich of the molski.biz ROMS to use?
2 options:
* • RUU_Molski.Biz_226102_22610105_022511_WWE (G3 Device. IPL/SPL like: 2.xx)
OR
* • RUU_Molski.Biz_226102_22610105_022511_NLD
Or am I completely wrong?

So I unlock CID, flash the ROM with the ROM file from molski, loose my dutch language but have a clean english one?

CID Unlock your device with LokiWiz 0.2b (and also SIM if you would like that) and after your CID is unlocked just upgrade to one of my (G3) Roms (the NLD for Dutch language and WWE if you want English).

I just wanted to say that this week I used the RUU_Molski.Biz_226102_22610105_022511_WWE ROM to upgrade my Wizard which had IPL/SPL 1.x and it worked perfectly....

what d u mean by "seems to hang"? do u mean the downloading of the activesync, or u have allready donloaded it but it hangs when suncing with wizard?
no it hung when installing the 4.5 version succeeded!

Hi anyone knows how to upgrade Dopod C800 Singapore set with IPL/SPL 1.09 and radio 2.69 successfully yet? How can i upgrade to the latest SPL/IPL and radio?? Dopod dont have any wm6 rom with latest radio available. I had read the forum but realised most of the roms advised not to upgrade with ipl/spl less than 4.000 as it will brick the device and unrecoverable. I realise the C800 SG set has no official wm6 RUU rom yet, is it true as i cant find any?? Only the HTC ver is available in wiki which cant flash on the c800 as it prompt device vendor error.

Ive got a HTC P problem, everytime I want to install WM6 it gets an Error.
I'm using: zttp://rapidshare.com/files/49302586/HTC_P4350_NLD_4.17.404.2_4.1.13.44_02.94.90_Ship.exe
The error message I got is:
ERROR [294] : INVALID VENDER ID,
The readme says: One of these error messages will appear when you use the wrong RUU to do the upgrade. RUU will check if the Model ID and Language ID are compatible with the device. Make sure you use the appropriate RUU tool to upgrade.
How can I solve this problem?!!? PLEASE help me!!

the best would be to find an update WM5 to IPL/SPL 4.xx
then WM6 NL!
but i guess it will be very hard to find a WM5 for you.... good luck.
or try every OFFICIAL Wm6....

hello, in this post you say you never upgraded to Wm6, but in your signature you already upgraded to 6.1 please tell me how if my SPL & IPL is 1.08

Can someone please help me with steps to upgrade it to windows mobile 6/6.1?
I checked on the dopod official site and the upgrade is not available for c800.
So will i have to unlock CID? am basically confused.....can someone help with the steps please?

what is your SPL? If it is over 4, you should HardSPL your phone and flash one of our custom roms, or use the USPL to do it.

it looks like you are stuck with the rom that you have. Try using aserg's method. it's one of our older flashing methods.
search for it in our forums. tip for you- ALWAYS have RUU ready.
Can u pls tell me what the aeserg's method is? and what do u mean by having the RUU always ready? and which RUU are u talking about? I don't think there is a RUU for the DOPOD C800. If there is then pls let me know where it is.

I think they should be the same, but only try if you're really desperate to get WM6. I put the htc wm6 (in english) on my htc branded version bought in China with a chinese version of wm5.
czhang- you can buy HTC devices in china. but you can also buy dopod devices. Even if dopod is essentially HTC in china. the RUUs do not work together.
Rangnekarrahul: aserg's method is a way that we were able to flash the first roms made for the herald, before we had USPL and HardSPL. I'm pretty sure you don't have to have a 4+ SPL to do it, but the lack of RUU means that if you mess up, your device is dead.
for more info on aserg's method, look at some of our oldest roms, like touch-it 1 or 2.
do u really think its worth the effort? also can u tell me the actual method(aserg's) I tried finding in the forums but am not really very sure. Some talked about extracting the .nbh file and stuff.....don't know how to do it...if writing in this forum is a pain then u can mail me the procedure at [email protected] .

Read the Upgrade Guide again and look for the Recovery Steps follow that and your problem will be Fixed it worked for me if you cant find the files you need NO_Vendor WM 5 Rom let me know al upload and post the link here for you ok
