Hi i know it has nothing to do with this Hermes as such but is anyone else in the UK, arround london, been having problems with the Network today,
three of us have hermes (MDA Vario II) here in the office and all are having the same problem.

Hope someone can help me with this.
Many folks on the forums ave managed to get the Blackberry connect software to work on their PPC. From the postings, many of us got it to work in Germany, UK on wizard and plenty did too on the Universal platform.
So far I have been unsuccesful in doing so with T-Mobile US and my Wizard (original TMO MDA). From the symptoms and postings on the forums, it seems related to my ROM or Radio version.
If anyone got their wizard to work wit the BB Connect client on TMO USA, can you please post in reply your ROM version and Radio version.
On my end, I tried
- BB Connect client 2.1.2.16
- enterprise BES server
- ROM 2.26.10.2 WWE
- Radio 2.25.11

Can anyone confirm if T-Mobile in UK are idsabling wifi on teh newly launched MDA Vario II?
I am also interested in unlocking the device. Again, anyone have experience of this and if so, what software or which supplier?

mu mda vario II works fine with wifi. also you can unlock the phone but not for free at the moment. you have to use imi-check for that.
What makes you think it is disabled?
My MDA2 bought 3 weeks ago is fine with wifi..
Works at home using (g) and also managed to connect using a free connection at Waterloo the otherday (Window poped up while I was surfing using HSDPA..) so thought I would give it a go. worked fine.
My MDA Vario II works fine on wifi and I have also unlocked it too so I could use my Vodafone sim in it (had to pay £20 though as needed to use my Voda sim straight away and couldn't wait until somebody worked out how to unlock it for free)

I have a MDA Vario2 (Tytn) and recently i having big problems with getting Gsm signal.
I have tried to upgrade do WM6 and use de most recent Radio version, but the problem persist.
Does anybody have this problem ?What can i do ?

hi all. could somebody help this newbie. what it is i've just got a spv M3100 hermes 100 (htc tytn) on orange uk as it was cheaper then what t-mobile wanted £85.00 I payed including wayfinder 6 gps t-mobile wanted £200 including autoroute (bloody big differnce) now my question what software do I need to sim unlock the phone & cid unlock it so I can install the latest t-mobile wwe rom on it as orange only comes with version 1.06 as I want to use my t-mobile sim in the phone for the hscda 1.8meg broadband speeds as orange haven't upgraded yet as i'm on the web&walk max with the mda vario (wizzard200) and really would love to be able to use the hermes 100 with t-mobile as I don't want to have to get a new phone on t-mobile as i've already got 4 mobiles already lol. if somebody could help me I would be most gratfull. a pint is in it for the first person to give me a proper answear ;-) as I don't want to brick the phone trying to find the right software to do what I want

I recently upgraded my T-Mobile MDA (Wizard) to a Cingular 8525 (Hermes), which I unlocked thanks to these wonderful forums--I thought my Hermes was bricked b/c it wouldn't find any networks using either my australian vodafone or telstra sims down here in Sydney. Well, it turns out that it just takes several minutes before the phone will find the networks using either sim, even though my wizard using the same sims will find the networks straight away.
Any idea why this might be happening?

I have this problem with the radio rom 1.48.00. I upgrade the radio rom to 150.00, and work excellent. problem fixed.
i still have the same prob my hermes keeps on searching for network...i am on radio 1.51..
