I have managed to install the software on my V1640 by running the various CAB files but when i copy the maps CAB file onto my storage card and then try to install it it fails.
I have seen on the forum that somebody has suggested copying using a card reader but the only file i have is the CAB file so how do i do that.
Any help would be appreciated.
What version of tt are you installing? tt maps don't come on cab files.
Thanks for the reply
I have TomTom Nav 5 but that would not install so i downloaded the 5.21 which installed ok, but i had no GPS, Voices, maps etc. I found the info on the forum to intall the gps, wizard, voice cabs. I tried to install the maps from my map cd but when i run setup (needed to copy setup.exe from cd to desktop. if i tried to run from cd error 'Not enough free space on temporary folder can not run setup) select Great britain etc when i select the storage card reader (cf/MMC/SD) i get a error saying the 'volume not found'
Open up the installation Cd, copy the map folder to your storage card - that's all!

Try using a cardreader to copy the maps 8)
I have three questions about my 8125.
1. I've installed several free programs/games and they all seem to install into the main directory. Is there a way i can click start -> programs and put those icons in a more cleaned up area? Something like put the into seperate folders - Internet folder, Network Tools Folder, Business Apps folder etc.. If it can be done, how?
2. I don't see any setting that allows any new installed programs to get installed on the minisd instead of being installed on the phones drive. How do you install it on the SD?
3. I have MS Streets installed and I downloaded some maps from MS. I put the maps in a folder under My Documents (which is the folder list on my 8125). After the synch I move the maps to the dir MS Streets is installed (so I don't have files all over the place). It works fine until the next sync because then active sync readds the maps to the directory I just moved them from. If I move the maps and then delete the maps from the directory on my computer then the sync removes the maps from the directory I moved them to on the 8125 as well. How can I get sync to stop doing this?
Please pay attention.

Err, one of those free programs you mentioned should have been GSFinder+ or Total Commander. Use one of them to navagate to Windows\Start Menu\Programs. Make your folders then drag-and-drop the .lnk files as you please.

Err...do you have an SD card in your Wizard? Do you have the latest ROM? When you install programs onto the it asks you where you would like to install them "Device" or "Card". Uninstall your programs and when you reinstall select "Card" instead.

I do not use MS Streets but you can exclude files from syncing in your Activesync preferences.
Hi,
My stock ROM doesn't come with QuickGPS.
I have downloaded this one at this page along with this file but nothing works.
I have followed these instructions :
I just downloaded the QuickGPS app and also the files form RapidShare and got everything to work on my Mogul within two minutes. In my office (a steel building) I am seeing 5 satellites and using 3 at the moment. Gmaps found the satellites and locked my position in within 5-6 seconds... wicked fast!
Now, how you too can do this:
1. Download both files to your computer, then extract them.
2. Create a new folder called HTC QuickGPS and put all three of the extracted files (HTC_QuickGPS.cab, QuickGPS.exe, QuickGPS.reg) in the new folder .
3. Sync your Mogul and copy the HTC QuickGPS folder to your storage card.
4. Open a file explorer on your Mogul, other than the stock one in WM6. I personally use Resco File Explorer 2007 because it allows you to overwrite files, has a registry and FTP plugin, etc. Whtever you use, it must allow you to overwrite files.
5. Navigate to your storage card and then to the HTC QuickGPS folder you just copied there from your PC.
6. Install QuickGPS by clicking on the HTC_QuickGPS.cab file.
7. Click on the QuickGPS.reg file and you will be prompted wether or not you want to import these registry settings. Click Yes.
8. Copy the QuickGPS.exe file to the \Windows directory in main memory.
9. Open PIE, Opera or another app on your Mogul that opens an Internet connection (I did not have to do this for it to work, I presume that is because I use Activesync for push from my Exchange server).
10. Open QuickGPS and click the Download button.
11. Tap the X to minimize QuickGPS (you may be able to close it completely, I have not tested that yet).
12. Open your GPS app and be amazed at how fast you get lock, no matter whether you are inside or outdoors.

When I start it, it tells me that the application has not been signed and it doesn't want to start at all.
I have, of course, installed the sdkcerts.cab.
Does anyone have a cab that can be used on TP2 ?
Thanks
OK, found out finally how to make it work :
1) I've installed this cab to main memory
2) I've copied QuickGPS.exe.0409.mui to QuickGPS.exe.040C.mui in \Windows directory
And now, it works
It seems that it was because of my French ROM version.
Just wanted to let you know in case it helps someone else
ok,
so I got a LEO and I love it. I just installed tomtom 7 and it works, but it can't find any maps. I copied the cab to the root of the sd, it installed and put tomtom in a programsfolder. But the maps, western europe, it's in a folder (A), in that folder is another folder (b) named the same with all the items, next to that second folder is a meta file.
Do I just put the A folder in the root, with in it B and the meta. Or do I put B and meta by their own in the root or do I make a special mapin the root, do I put items in another place ... You get the drift, where the hell do I put the map so that tomtom finds the map.
thx in advance, love the phone btw, kicks iPhone ass
TT maps
Which version of TT?
I think you need to find a patch that will make the maps work.
I tried to upload a patch for you but no go.
Google easytools tomtom.
The map stays on your sd
